dry cough for 23 month old child
my son is 23 months old. he had walking pnuemonia couple of months and he was treated for that with antibiotics and albuterol(inhaler) and in the span of 2 months he had 2 colds and he is having this dry cough since then. though the cough is not heavyit is more like a dry cough as if there is thin layer of mucus in his throat and irritating him and coughing to clear it up. when we met his pediatrician she told it could be seasonal allergy and prescribed him zyrtec but still he is coughing .the cough is not through out the day ,he will cough for couple of hours but other wise he is active.
for the past 2 days i noticed he coughs when i take him outside and when he wakes up in the morning(on the bed itself).
please suggest me a medicine considering his age and i am staying in US.

since antibiotic use--have you started anti candida diet and probiotic use.?...will see some symptomology change after start of mentioned....--yet stil underlying predisostion need be addressed...

my son has been a very healthy boy since birth with no complications.he had flu in the month of january 06 and got treated with anti biotic,symptoms went away. In the month of february as i mentioned he suffered from walking pnuemonia and got treated with anti biotics.he has never been on any specific diet and now he is not on any anti biotic .right now he is on zyrtec(anti histamine).

cough is not heavy and he is coughing as if to clear off thin layer of mucus and he did cough in the evening for 2 hours occassionally I also noticed that he coughs when ever I take him outside and gets him back in also observed no cough in the night in the last 3 days

he is a vegetarian and his main diet consists of white rice and full fat milk. do you recommend any change to his diet other than restricting acidic foods.

as u suggested i gave him a single dose(2 pellets) of suphur 30c.. his cough subsided but he started sneezing since yesterday though not heavy but frequently, as i am not sure if it is a normal cold or sneezing related to cough.

he had light symptoms of stomach virus(vomiting only on thursday night) and slight diarrhea .i gave suphur 30c on sunday no cough since then.he was sneezing since yesterday afternoon around 12 0clock.
sneezing is not continous but frequent .since morning he is having runny nose(slimy and clear liquid as of now).last time he had sneezing was when he had cold(last week of march).

he is having good amount of sleep with out any disturbance during nights.

he is eating half the quantity he used to eat before. but i think thats not because of sulphur.i feel its because of his stomach virus. he was eating less before i gave him sulphur.he is less lethargic than he was before giving him suphur.
