Ear canal pain, itching

Slowly growing moderate ear pain. Went to ENT cleaned out earwax. Antibiotic drops, 3 days later changed to antibiotic cream.
Doctor saw a spot of redness in outer ear canal near eardrum but not on it.
No fever. Just itching and moderate pain for last 2 1/2 weeks.
ANY IDEAS WOULD BE A HELP? Cheers, Gideon

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
What is the sensation of the pain ? (Eg: Burning, boring, throbbing, radiating, Etc...)
How long does the complaint present ?
When does the complaint gets worse ?
And when does it get better ?
Are there are previous injury to head ?
Do you have any hearing problems ?

1) Burning, aching
2) it is there all the time more or less
3) doesn't get worse pretty consistent
4) no head injuries
5) no hearing problems

I think it is some sort of outer ear canal mild infection, maybe?

Take Causticum 30(3pills)
twice a day on morning and night before food.
Also take Kali muriaticum 6x tablets (3Tablets)
Thrice a day after food.
Avoid coffee and sour items..
Take medicine for one week and report..

Have used the Causticum and Kali Muriaticum as suggested for 8 days and now stopped. Ear pain has reduced but not gone. It is mild for a few days and I think it will go away and then it increases to being "Moderate" pain but not severe for a few days then back again to mild.
I do not need pain relievers even when it is at it's worst.
To repeat I went to a Physician where he saw a spot of redness in the ear canal which he says is no longer there. He does not know what it is, was, and has no further ideas. He suggested I get some sort of scan but that is up to me and it would be expensive.
Any more help would be appreciated. Thanks..
