Dog ear hematoma

Hello,

My 5 year old German Shepard dog has an ear hematoma. It’s pretty large. We drained it 4 times but it keep refilling. We’ve tried arnica 30c and arnica gel topically and it hasn’t helped. Now we’re n day 3 of giving her arnica 30c and belladonna 30 c (5pallets of each twice a day). And also added curcumin once a day. The hematoma has not changed. Should we be adding anything to this treatment? The dog seems ok, but the hematoma is large and taking up more space in ear flap each time we drain it.

The dog normally is very active and has aggression/fear reactivity to other dogs. Shes 70lbs.

Thank you in advance.

And Arnica 30 in alteration.

Feedback after 4 day.

Thank you. Should I discontinue the curcumin and Belladonna? By alternating the two remedies you prescribed do you mean for example arnica in the morning and the other one in the evening? Thank you.

Ok, will do. I forgot to ask, should I drain her ear of blood as it’s quite big, or leave it be?

Hello,

The hematoma is still there, we decided not to drain it. It’s still puffy but no longer hot to touch and not as sensitive. It seems slightly smaller. It not noticeably. Should I continue this remedy or stop?

Thank you.

Hello Anuj,

My dog’s ear is no longer puffy nor it is filled with blood. Sadly her ear is floppy now, which I thought was going to happen. The half of the ear is filled with scar tissue from the hematoma, and I think the weight of it causes her ear for be floppy. Is there anything I can do to massage her ear to maybe break up the scar tissue a little? Also, she scratches that ear often making the tip of the ear to loose some of the fur. She’s a nervous and reactive dog and scratches a lot, is there anything to give her to lessen the itchiness?

Thank you kindly for all your help. Have a blessed New Year.

Hello, update on my dog, the hematoma is still there, not as painful though and doesn’t seem to be getting bigger but it is not getting smaller either. Please let me know if we can still try to treat it maybe with different remedy? Thank you.
