This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I read somewhere that there was a remedy that could halt deteriorization of eyesight, but I know nothing about it.

What I do know is that my own eyesight has been significantly improved through daily eye exercises. There are a number of books and websites available on the subject, and they have a lot of overlap.

One drawback is that if you need glasses to drive legally or to function normally most of the day, progress can be very, very slow. The less you wear glasses, the faster eye exercises can bring you back to normal. I hope that's helpful!

Progressive Myopia in children below the age of 9 years can be arrested and to a certain extent regressed too. But myopia of the age above cannot be corrected except with the use of appropriate lenses.

I admit that eye exercises are quite controversial, and that many doubt that someone far gone (like me who cannot read a chalkboard from the front row) can come all the way back to normal sight. I have not witnessed anything to counter this first-hand either. It is probably also true, as Dr. Gouri says, that younger eyes benefit much more than adult eyes.

However, I am 23 years old, and my eyesight is still improving slowly, especially on days when I do not have to wear glasses all day. I am not sure of the numbers in my case, but at my last optometrist appointment, he noticed significant improvement in both my myopia and my astigmatism and I think it is still improving. I have also read testimonials of presbyopia in the very elderly being improved. Maybe I am a bit optimistic, but I think that if your vision is still better than -1.00, your chances for normal vision again are really good! Just give your eyes their much needed frequent breaks from the computer screen, and do the exercises 15-30 minutes a day.

H.the 1st-congratulations - I'm sure you'll not need glasses soon!

Exercises may work slowly-but they do work!
Many people however would like a short cut: I'm sure homeopathy can offer help through its many remedies since myopia is in homeopathic repertory. Sulphur has myopia, physostigma too-and many many others but only one of them will fit your case.
