Wrinkles are visible creases in the skin.
Most wrinkles are associated with aging changes in skin. Aging of the skin and related structures (hair and nails) is a natural process. Nothing can be done to decrease the rate of skin aging, but many environmental factors will increase the rate.
Frequent exposure to sunshine results in premature skin wrinkling and increased pigmentation (liver spots). It also increases the likelihood of skin cancer. Exposure to cigarette smoke is another environmental factor that increases wrinkling of the skin.
Besides wrinkles, other skin changes may include liver spots (pigmented areas). The hair and nails also change with aging, including graying of the hair, hair loss, and brittleness of the nails.
Wrinkles can develop because of:
· Sun exposure
· Normal aging changes in the skin
Lycopodium.-Wrinkled and sickly,especially the upper part of the body. The forehead may be frowning or wrinkled. Patient is peevish and irritable;cannot endure oppition.
Veratrum Alb.- Wrinkled skin;vomiting and watery , diarrhoea;bluish face, pointed nose.
Abrotanum.- When the whole body is emacrated and wrinkled.The face looks old, the infant looks loke an old person. The face is wrinkled and has a sickly look. The skin is flabby and hangs loose in folds.
Aurum Mur.- Wrinkles on the face due to syphilis. Body large and fat but legs too thin.
Argentum Nit.- Progressive emaciation especially of lower extremities.Withered , dried up and old looking.
Sanicula.-Progressive emaciation;child looks dirty,greasy and brownish;skin about neck wrinkled, hangs in folds.
Secele Core- This medicine is highly recomded for old people wrinkles.
China - Wrinkles due to sexual excess or loss of vital fluids.
