This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Over time I have come up with an idea that is working so far. How do you feel about wearing gloves that lock on the wrist. If you would like I can make you a pair or two. My six year old... Let me know if you would like more information. She wears them everywhere. No problem for her. It is the adult that can have difficulty with it. ME but I am over it already and she likes them. Dan

There is no magic pill to cure thumb-sucking. One must teach them at an early age.

The above solution sounds good.

One must not be tense and demanding about this. The child can outwait any adult.

I just read something in the paper that was excellent. A teacher in school was teaching the use of the microscope and how to "see" and indentify things.

The substance used was to scrape under the nails. (shades of CSI!!) And when the children saw all the little wiggly "bugs" in the glass, several stopped biting their nails immediately.

It wouldn't do to just tell them. You probably will have to find someone with a microscope to make this happen.
