hydrophobinum

I visited my homeopath today and she gave me hydrophobinum (homeopathic rabies.) I took it in her office. I am now nervous about the risks of this remedy. Can anyone tell me how hydrophobinum is prepared, how often it is used and whether anyone has ever contracted rabies from it? Thank you. I appreciate any information you can give to allay my fears.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
You do not have to be concerned about taking Hydrophobium which I hope your homeopath gave you in a high potency.
As far as I know there are no reports of anyone contacting Rabies after taking it in the Homeopathic potencies.

Would you like to tell us for which ailment she gave it to you ?

Thank you for your reply. Is Hydrophobium often prescribed? Do you know if the rabies virus is killed before dilution?

I am embarassed to say that I do not know what she gave it for. I also don't know the potency. She did muscle energy testing with many, many vials and determined that Hydrophobinum was what I needed from that. I reacted to dozens of things, apparently. She also told me to avoid several things for the next four days, based on her testing. (I am to avoid pesticides, fluoride, lettuce, squash, among others.) I sought her out initially when recommended by my craniosacral therapist. I have been experiencing multiple food allergies and right-sided neurological symptoms (numbness, weakness, lack of dexterity), which allopathy has not been able to identify a cause for.

why you take something from someone you dont trust? if trust why ask here and not her?

I trust her. I didn't think to ask her whether the rabies virus was attenuated until I got home. I immediately called her, but her office is closed. I am sure I will hear from her tomorrow, but I was hoping to get information before then.

newtohomeopathy,
you're welcomed to come here any time and ask any questions you want whether you trust your homeopath or not. Total ignorance is never a good thing. I congratulate you for coming here and posting your question. Welcome to the forum

What you must realize is that the patient was referred to this homeopath by his 'craniosacral therapist' who may perhaps be in receipt of a commission from this homeopath for referring him to her. The patient obviously does not have a clue as to who she is and you can see from his statement what form of Hocus Pocus is adopted even by qualified homeopaths to impress the patient.

He states
'She did muscle energy testing with many, many vials and determined that Hydrophobinum was what I needed from that. I reacted to dozens of things, apparently'

You and I know that this is all a ruse to impress the patient who consulted her to overcome his ailment of 'multiple food allergies and right-sided neurological symptoms (numbness, weakness, lack of dexterity), which allopathy has not been able to identify a cause for.'

It is precisely this form of racket that you and I try to eliminate from Homeopathy, you in your own way and I in mine, by our daily presence on the ABC and I believe that we have been resonably successful in ensuring that patients who were under their physicians and even qualified homeopaths who have jointly been taking them for a long ride, are cured of their ailments in a short while.

It is unfortunate that Homeopathic Forums such as the ABC are not known by the general public and as a result they do not visit this and the other forums more often. I am sure that if you too return to the ABC and carry on the good work as you have done for some years, we will be able to ensure that more patients use the forum to overcome their ailments quickly and free of all cost and what is more is that they invariably enjoy a permanent cure of their chronic aliment like GERD, Asthma, Eczema and others that I have helped to cure.

I am a member of the general public and do not know much about homeopathy.

I was hoping that someone on this forum would advise me as to the safety of Hydrophobinum.

Joe kindly replied, 'As far as I know there are no reports of anyone contacting Rabies after taking it in the Homeopathic potencies.'

Can anyone advise me as to how it is prepared and if there is any active, live rabies virus in the dilution? Has it been taken by hundreds or thousands of people? If ten people have used it without ill effect, I would not be as reassured as if 100,000 people used it safely.

I have been searching the net for information and all I can see is occasional human use, and frequent recommendation for canine use.

Have I been exposed to rabies? Should I consider post-exposure prophylaxis?

Please consider this earnest request from a homeopathically naive person.

I can sense that you are really worried about whether you will also contact Rabies or Hydrophobia. I also note that none has replied your post so far.

I would like to reassure you that there is absolutely no chance whatever of your contacting Rabies as the method used to make a remedy is so designed that there is no physical trace of the original plant, bacteria or chemical in the potentized remedy. You can do a search on this forum for some information that I have posted under the title Water Dose or Wet Dose where I have detailed the method used in the potentization of Homeopathic remedies.

Please be reassured that you will not fall a victim to Rabies and that all is well.

I would however fault your Homeopath for having given you this remedy without first explaining to you the reason why she gave it to you and reassuring you that it is absolutely harmless.

Feel free to post any questions you may like to have clarified on this thread which I shall be monitoring for the next 6 hours till about midnight tonight.

It is common practice by homeopaths to keep the patient in the dark. In the past, I have read where patients complain that their homeopaths won't even give them the name of the remedies.

You are wise for doing research on what you are given.

You also run the risk of your homeopath refusing to continue treating you if he/she thinks you know too much.

Visit homeoint.org so you can find out what the remedies are used for.

Thank you, Joe, for your direct answer. I appreciate it. My homeopath called and woke me this morning. She emphasized the fact that the dilution is so great that no material can be detected. She sounded unperturbed by my questions. I believe she does not want to keep me in the dark.
