major teeth work 2morrow-interference???

Hi there. I need some quick input. I will be having all of my 12 amalgams removed tomorrow as well as an impacted wisdom tooth and cavitation cleaning under concious sedation with vit c IV at dr. huggins clinic in colorado. They are prescribing 'dilaudid' for afterwards which I don't want to take, especially after just reading up on it. Howewver I don't want to end up in excruciating pain either. I was planning skullcap/motherwort tincture as well as arnica before and after as well as hypericum after(same as when I had my babies medication free). HOWEVER I have been told arnica/homeopathics might interfere with the conscious sedation etc. I would REALLY appreciate some quick input on this if anyone is available.

thanks

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I am not quite certain about 'conscious sedation' and presume that it is induced with Sodium Pentothal. I do not understand your reference to vit c IV.

I do not think that Arnica can cause any negative response with the sedation and you can use 3 doses of Arnica 30c in the wet dose on the day before surgery. Immediately after surgery you can sip a teaspoonful every 2 hours and also use Hypericum 200 every 4 hours or earlier if you feel the pain.

I am interested to learn that the reason for your surgery is because you are taking out 12 amalgam fillings. Why ?

I am completely with you about not taking dilaudid after surgery as this can have other side effects.

Why are you having so much work done all at once?

To my knowledge, dentists do things in small chunkc to avoid trauma and decrease suffering.

They break the mouth down in sections like do the left side first and then later on another visit the right side, etc.

If you are currently on any homeopathic remedies, the dental work could antidote them.

dr. hal huggins www.hugnet.com is the pioneer of removing amalgams and a multi disciplined approach to support the immune system. If work is not done under conscious sedation with vit c then the max time in the dental chair without harming the immune system is 2 hrs and quadrants are done separately over time, making sure to not interfere with the 7-14-21 day rule.

He believes it can be done in a one shot deal...and be easier on the immune system... with conscious sedation, vit c IV, accupressure after, massage before and after, serum blood compatibility testing for replacement materials, hair analaysis before and after, blood work before and after, etc. etc. that this will support and protect the immune system and allow for balancing to occur. It is quite fascinating- I've researched it for 5 yrs now.

My work is over and I am recouping. I have taken arnica before and after, hypericum after. I opted for tyleol 3's as a backup which I have taken 2 of after the surgery yesterday- I have taken nothing today. The impacted wisdom tooth they extracted was apparently the 2nd worst they have ever had difficulty removing requiring 2 stitches (these are veteran dentists)- they are surprised I've only had 2 tylenol but honestly it is still very very sore. I hate to take them as they cause constipation which is what is probably causing my headache right now. I am cold packing my face off and on and swishing with salt and water and eating pureed soups.

thanks for the input, i really appreciate it.

Glad to note that the worst is over. You can inform your dentist that the reason for your not wanting any more analgesics is because you are on the Arnica which can be compared to morphine in its effect on pain reduction.

You may like to know that I used the same dosage of Arnica after major surgery and I was able to get out of bed on the third day and was discharged on the fifth day when I walked out of hospital. The nursing staff were amazed that a 73 year old could do so without any pain medication.

You did not answer my query as to the reason why you had all your amalgam fillings replaced by epoxy fillings.

Also 2 hours in the dental chair must have taken its toll on your nerves !

Wendy

I'm so happy that this procedure went well for you and that it is over.

Hope you will get the results you want.

Glad the remedies have helped you.

Did you by any chance experience any aggrevations from the Hypericum 200?
