feeling of fullness in head/ears

My mom is a 57 year old woman, and generally healthy. For several months now she has had a disorienting, full feeling in her head and/or ears. She generally goes the conventional medicine route, and has taken several rounds of antibiotics, with no real signs of improvement. Her ear, nose and throat doctor wanted to do endoscopic sinus surgery. MRI and CT scan show infections sinuses cavities. The feeling comes and goes randomly. Chewing food sometimes brings the feeling on or makes it worse. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Is she depressed in any way? Her children left home etc.?

Her mom, who she is very close with, is dying, and recently moved to a nursing home. She is also very worried about a lot of things. Thanks.

I asked my mom if she was depressed. She said she wasn't, and then she said, 'well maybe a little.' She tends to get more irritable and worrisome/anxious when upset about something. Worrying keeps her up at night. She gets kind of testy and short with people. She is also very generous with her children, and people she is close to. She is always very concerned with her appearance. She's very active. Let me know if you have any more questions. I appreciate your help.

Update: My mom's doctor wants her to have surgery in August. Does anyone have any suggestions on what she could try beforehand, in hopes of avoiding the surgery?
