Effexor Withdrawls

I am currently suffering from EffexorXr withdrawls. I am getting the brain shivers chest pains etc. just completely mindf***ed.

I have twin girls and an unsupportive husband who really doesn't want to deal with me.

I am also pregnant.

I want to know if anyone has gotten better after these withdrawls have subsided, and how long it takes....this is absolutely horrible.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I was weaned off of 150 mgs in two weeks.

I would also like to know if this will effect my unborn child...if anyone knows, and if there are anywasy in which i can curb these awful symptoms?

I wish I could help. I'm on 300mg daily and I tried to go down to 150mg... I only lasted three days, ending today. I called my mother thinking I was going to die. I had to give up... I really don't know how to get off of it... I've been through withdrawals... I agree, this stuff is really horrible

it truly is and it's funnty that my doctor said it was safer than other depression meds.

I'm completely off now...i hope these withdrawls end somewhat soon.

i wish i had had more time to wean off of them as opposed to only 2 weeks, but i'm pregnant and my doctor wanted me off relatively quick.

this is definately no picnic.

I managed to wean myself off it when i was pregnant against my doctors wishes I felt i had to for the sake of my baby! There is no proof that it will harm the baby but if you're planning on breastfeeding then it is definately a good idea to stop. I lowered my dose by approx 25mg every fortnight (i was on 150)and then when there was only about 25mg left i lowered that by half which was such a tiny amount i just took it for a week then stopped totally. I did get very very mild withdrawel symptoms throughout this process, but none by the end of it. good luck!

I am in day 11 of my withdrawls. I am sitting here crying as I try to write this. I feel as though these withdrawls are enough to kill a person, literally! This is horrible, the deep, deep feeling of losing complete control of yourself. God why would anyone put another humanbeing on this stuff knowing someday they would probably have to come off it. All I can say is for us to pray hard and hope it ends soon. I personally am only giving mine another week or so and then I'm going back on it. It's better being on it than the alternative looks like it's going to be. If i'm not crying i'm yelling and truthfully i'm usually to exhausted to yell so i just cry all the time. no way to live your life. I hope the person who invented this stuff gets to see first hand what the withdrawls are like. No one should have to experience this. Hang in there and good luck and God Bless each of you.

I guess I can't understand. I have been on almost every anti-depressant (currently on Easam patch 6mg) and I was on effxor for 1 yr at 150mg per day. I had absolutly no trouble getting off it. I guess i am one of the lucky ones. Good luck to everyone.
