All our Problems - Stress is part of being HUMAN

Stress is part of being Human

Everything has two sides to it – including thought. A feeling of guilt serves its purpose as long as it plays the role of the conscience, making life move on. Fear is good as long as it makes a human being move in order to survive. Anger is a good thing as long as it becomes strength, needed to protect life. These are the so-called positive stresses.

In everyday life, we are used to consider stress negativity.

The fear of not being loved blocks the reasonable mind. Buried under an avalanche of emotion, containing every form and variation of stress known to man, an individual can’t think straight. Guilt grows into fear; fear grows into anger, and anger – into destruction.

Guilt makes one weak and susceptible to negative influences.

Fear attracts misfortune.

Anger destroys.

Guilt is a stress of the heart, if a person has done something wrong in his life and has failed to put it right, he will have a vague feeling of guilt. As long as he doesn’t release his guilt he will continue to attract someone to accuse him.

“My soul is in agony, my heart is heavy, I have to sigh all the time, I have trouble breathing,” a person with a guilty feeling complains. This is already a sign that guilt is putting a load on the heart and blood circulation has slowed down.

What is the role of blood?

Blood feeds the cells and washes them clear of residue, directing it to the organs of secretion. When circulation is hindered, both the feeding and purification process slows down. When a cell cannot get enough food, it dies and has to be carried out of the system. As the blood is moving sluggishly, this process is inefficient, too. The body becomes more and more polluted. You may treat yourself with the best drugs or homeopathic recipes there are, cleanse your system with other natural remedies, become a vegetarian but if your guilt keeps on growing then nothing will help.

To put it crudely: if sewage flows rapidly, the plumbing is in tip-top condition. If it slows down, however, the pipes will clog down. This is the simple truth about the diseases of the circulatory system and their rapid growth in the world today.

An individual bent under the load of guilt tires quickly, is weak and his working ability is down, a feeling of indifference towards his work and the whole world creeps in. this is the right moment for fear to make its entrance. Fear is the stress most easily recognized by man. It comes as a friend bearing a clear message, “There is still enough time to change things. You still can escape destruction.”

If the individual fails to notice the signal, anger steps in to destroy. Anger, as said before, is a sly of stress. Anger, although not recognized for what it is, is usually the means of achieving seeming good.

“I hate my life – it has brought me nothing but suffering. All my beautiful dreams are in ruin,” a patient told me, trying hard to control herself. She thought it is her right to get everything she wanted from life. Her husband had died from cardiac arrest at a relatively early age and now her small child was terminally ill with leucosis. The child was “the only thing she had left to remember her dear husband by”. The woman had put big hopes on the baby.

If a person wants too much without wanting to give anything back, he will be left with nothing. If a wife accuses her husband of not loving his family then the breadwinner will disappear, taking his love with him. If someone is only expected to give and give then a time will come when he will have nothing left to give. Instead, he will depart – from his family and sometimes, from life. Now the person who only wanted to be given is brought face to face with the consequences of her attitude.

The incessant power-struggle, the need to be better than others usually begins with blaming. As we saw, one can even blame life, not realizing that this is wrong thinking.

Self-accusation grows. This problem is more characteristic of men, usually accompanied by the stress due to the lack of self-realization – the result of an inferiority complex. A man like that will start drinking too much and before he notices, his last remains of dignity are gone and drunken swaggering takes it place. It doesn’t matter if he has a lot of money or none at all but a man like that will always cut life down to material success. And so it can happen that a rich man and a poor man may drown their identical sorrows sitting side by side at the counter and when the night is over, go home in total understanding for each others’ troubles and have it out with their wives and children, blaming every bit of their misfortune on them. Someone has to be at fault! A similar stress causes people of different social status and different education to reach similarly. Their lack of knowledge of life drives them to destroy. The higher the person’s position, the steeper in self-abasement he usually falls.

Blaming is a subtle and powerful tactical weapon. Only somebody who has released his guilt, somebody with an easy conscience can stay calm in the face of accusations. Only a person like that can look the accuser straight in the eye and follow his thought.

People often try to convince themselves and others that they are not hurt by ungrounded accusation, that it caused them no feeling of guilt as they know that they have done nothing wrong. When an accusation brought a tear in your eye, when you got mad or depressed, asking, “How can he do this to me,” when you started shaking with anger or had the impulse to hit the accuser or strike back in any other way then you know that the blaming has hit the mark.

Acknowledge this so that you could start forgiving your anger and fear for the accuser. Your heart is begging for your help. If you fail to recognize your feelings then the lesson of suffering has already begun.

Do not deny your stresses. Don’t say that you are strong and healthy enough to face all the difficulties life has in store for you. Your heart may well be at the end of its rope and one burst of anger may be all it needs to end your earthly journey.

Someone accusing with full intent is like a marksman taking his aim and feeling triumph when his enemy falls. Ungrounded accusations have a destructive effect, quite able to put a conscientious and warm-hearted individual to his death. Ungrounded accusations belong to the standard armament of every family quarrel.

Nobody without a feeling of guilt will ever start to accuse others. The biggest accuser has the biggest feeling of guilt. His fear of being accused makes him attack first. He doesn’t realize that everything he does will be returned to him, only in the double measure.

Even the court system is built up on carefully planned accusation. It is easy to convict a person with a strong feeling of guilt from his previous lives even if he is innocent. Who can be blamed for this misfortune, then? With his feeling of guilt, the innocent person, convicted of a crime he didn’t commit, had unknowingly brought the suffering on himself. And the judge, also unwittingly, had provided him with the lesson. So, you see – you have to release your feelings of guilt and you’ll never accuse others nor will you be accused yourself.

Accusing takes many different forms. For example: someone took a fall or was bitten by a dog. Her friend, overflowing with pity for the poor sufferer, doesn’t know that such an accident could only have been attracted by anger. “Poor dear, what have they done to you! The streets are in such a terrible condition (or –dogs should be kept on a leash). Nobody cares for the old. Somebody should be sued! Things have been awful for me too…”

Such moaning, going on for hours, is looking for and finding someone to blame. Everybody else is at fault except for the injured party himself. As long as everybody else is blamed, everything is fine – the sufferer and the commiserator are in perfect understanding. But should the other make a careless observation like, “You could have been more careful yourself, you know,” the sufferer will immediately take offence and the devoted friendship may be over in an instant. Even if an open argument doesn’t follow, the fire of hurt is alive under the ashes and the two starting accusing each other of being ungrateful, irrational, and spiteful, etc. behind each others’ backs.

When you are out of balance, you can get irritated by the slightest noise, trash blowing in the wind, a particularly annoying fly, an irritating melody, an object lying in a particular place or the opposite – being absent from there. The reasons for getting upset are endless. Stress has the quality of growing like a snowball. Afterwards, nobody can remember what was caused by what in the first place.

What is the use of performing complicated test on someone’s heart and declare him perfectly healthy if in a month, he drops dead with cardiac arrest? His fear of being at fault had attracted the disease while destruction was brought on by his suppressed self-justification, his looking for someone to blame and despising them, searching for a way out in panic and visualizing all the terrible things the future holds.

Feelings of guilt make the heart ill, sometimes more so, sometimes less, in some cases more rapidly, in other’s – only after a time. In the beginning the person will just tire more quickly. He would like to take some time off but things at work keep him from it. There is a pressure in his chest but he fails to take notice. He will just open the window to let in some air and blame the pollution. As the uncomfortable feeling in his chest is not exactly pain, he will get used to it. Nobody knows that his heart is already unable to do his job as efficiently as before.

A person with such a condition is not able to do as much good as before. He is unsatisfied with himself for not feeding the family and serving the company the way he used to. Quite unnoticed, self-accusation has crept in which will start to attract other accusations to him. He loses even more of his strength. He begins to drive and whip himself on, running to and from, putting extra hours to his work. At first, the situation seems to improve but this is just an illusion.

The aim of life is movement towards the future. Somebody afraid of the future will start to want more and quickly. The fear of not being able to manage will grow together his guilt felt to a critical point where self-defense makes its entrance in the form of defiance, resistance and pure anger.

We have to acknowledge that our drive to move on in life is, above all, dictated by our spirit. The physical need just mirrors the spiritual. If we, understanding the nature of life, take into account the physical needs of our body and satisfy them within reason then our life will be in balance and our progress, rapid and easy and our achievements, bigger and more optimal. We would have perfect health.

If we fall ill in the race for material wealth then our body is sending us a clear signal that we have done something wrong. It won’t listen to our explanations that we are not doing it for ourselves, that it’s for others who want, demand and need it – that we are doing good. When my body fell ill then I have done something bad.

We don’t know how to think correctly, how to work correctly, how to set our objectives correctly – and all because we don’t know ourselves.

Each and every spirit is incessantly working for the good of the world. If the human being with his wrong thinking doesn’t know what the spirit is doing, if he doesn’t realize that there is constant help within the reach of the hand, he will take a feeling of guilt in him. Feelings of guilt start looking for a release until they grow into an angry fight for good purposes.

At the same time, the spirit hopes for the easy solution. Even more – it kindly proposes it.

Whoever learns to think correctly will not be like a herdsman driving his cattle with a whip.

A sensible man is like the leader of the herd who the others will follow without compulsion.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
So much to learn, I feel like a little baby trying to find my way.

I was criticized a lot as a child and held to a high standard, getting blamed if I didn't measure up. So I know this thread is something I need to read and reread.

How do I find this kindly proposal of solution from my spirit?

patti3046 last decade
Dear Patti,

I'm sure you will find it, just listen, and keep listening, your body has to learn to trust you again, and it will, trust me.
You are not the first who is waiting for something to happen, and then say, well nothing yet, and probably nothing will come either. Trust yourself!
Its like I've said before

Isn’t it strange: if a simple farmer spells out some fundamental truth of life, everybody thinks that he has lost his mind! But when the same truth, after a long time and a lot of suffering, finally takes root and a well-respected scientist writes his thesis on the subject – then he is considered wise beyond belief.

Time will come - soon - and others who are working in the medical field will confirm that we have to learn whats behind the patient, and then finding the right treatment will be more easy and effective.

Excellent article. Now if only I could read that every morning before my hectic life begins.
You make it sound so easy to forgive and to let go of the many emotional restraints in our lives, yet I find it only too easy to fall back into the ways in which Ive led my adult life.

Keep up the great writing!

Hello Jay,

You're right, many people would like to have a pep talk in the morning, its like a footbal coach who speaks to his players just before they go out, to prepare them for the match. But we can give ourselves a pep talk in the morning, try it!

Dr. Beek,
Apart from above, besides the encouragement and getting pepped up, it could also be termed as ESCAPISM.

Human mind is designed to handle stress AND T-H-E-N grow accordingly.
Human mind is designed to hangle anger AND T-H-E-N improve accordingly.

Hope you realise this too, as debated with you earlier in your other posts / threads which you have posted on this forum.

Dear forum Members,

I'll have a brake, to visit my home country Holland, because suddenly I felt the need for home, the place of security. Unfinished business is waiting for me, althought I've pushed it away for many years, today I'm strong enough to deal with it.
I've packed my case, ready to go on a jouney home, to make peace to something very dear to me.
I'll come back as a different person, stronger, happier, with the energy to move on.
Something I've should have done long ago, I'm happy to face it now, the years that have past made me see the fool I've been. Thanks to the mirrow of life, I finally will see my true self.

Dr. Beek,

You would be meaning to take a BREAK instead of taking a BRAKE. Anyway, come back soon, since you would be having unfinished business here too. I hope we could have given you a farewell and quick-return party, just in case.....

ALSO, do try to do some MIRROR-GAZING, for a new dawn.

Dear Nesha-India,

yes it should have been break, although its time to brake as well. The mind needs a pitt-stop.
About mirror-gazing , well Holland is the perfect place to do it, since I am a smoker I believe that some gazing in Holland might do me good:)
