stomach ulcer in 65yr old male

Good evening,

My father-in-law has just been diagnosed with a stomach ulcer, right at the base of his stomach where it joins with his intestine.
His symptoms are rectal bleeding, a significantly lowered blood count, chest pain, feeling weak and needing to pace.
He is being treated with medication, and has been told it will take about 6 weeks to heal.
I was hoping to assist his recovery with a homeopathic remedy...any suggestions?
Many thanks,
Joanne

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Your father in law's case seems to be an advanced case resulting from hyper acidity.

It would be interesting to know if he has suffered from hyperacidity some time before he was diagnosed with his stomach ulcer. Also what medication has been prescribed for him.

Hi Joe. I will be travelling to see him today, so should have some more answers then.
I know that he has been on anti-imflammatories for years, treating chronic neck and back pain. I will find out what he is on for the ulcer today.

Hi again Joe. The medicine he is taking is Somac, 40mg per day.
Any remedy you can suggest would be wonderful.

Thanks,
Joanne

I have no record of Somac and presume that it is another analgesic.

It would be useful if you can give me a complete case record of the many ailments that he is suffering from and the order that they have affected him. The treatment with the generic names of the drugs will be necessary.

Since you are visiting him today can you get Nat Phos 6x and request him to take 3 tablets 3 times daily and report response. This should help his Hyperacidity which I believe was the original cause of his stomach ulcer.

You can also add Arnica 30c in the wet dose of which a teaspoonful can be taken twice daily.

Thank you Joe. His medical history is really complex and it will have to wait a while...today it was a struggle to have any proper conversation with him as he was vague and babblinh - he felt terrible. I will try the nat phos and the arnica and report back.
Thanks,
Joanne
