Lymphatic Edema

Two years ago my husband was burned in an accident. he suffered second and third degree burns to 45%+ of his upper body. These burns required extensive grafting and rehabilitation. He also had inhalation burns and was trached and vented and placed in a medically induced coma for 6 weeks. He has done well and has had no additional problems until a month and a half ago.

In June, when PA began having an increase in heat and humidity, my husband began to had difficulty with his breathing. He was treated with antibiotics to prevent any form of respiratory infection. He also uses Spiriva and Albuterol.

He has continued to have difficulty in is breathing upon standing and it seems to worsen at night which keeps him from being able to sleep.

To add to his discomfort, he has severe lymphatic edema in his feet. He has been seen by our family physician who does not fully understand the complications a burn survivor can have.

My husband is in relatively good health. The doctor seems to feel that this edema will resolve on it's own. I am concerned that nothing is being done. As a nurse, I have tried to encourage her to try treating him for this edema to no avail.

I have beun by using compression garmemts for his extremities, elevation, cold treatment and lymphatic massage. Are there any herbal supplements that are reccomended to help treat this type of edema?

I have sent the reply that I copy below to you in response to your email to me:

Your husband's case seems to be very complicated and I hope that I can help him. It will be necessary that you keep in close contact with me especially at the commencement of the therapy I shall indicate below.

I am confident that I can help your husband's Asthma which you describe as 'difficulty with his breathing'.

The remedy for Asthma is Nat Sulph 6c which you will use as follows:

Insert 3 pellets of Nat Sulph 6c into a 500ml bottle of spring water and after they dissolve you give him just one teaspoonful after shaking the bottle hard to ensure bubbling (succussion) which you will do prior to every dose. Do not exceed this daily dose. He should discover that his asthmatic symptoms should leave him in a few days. Do not use the drugs he is now using.

The Edema in his ankles can prove to be a more difficult condition to solve but I am confident that if his asthma can be cured, his edema can also be reduced.

It is possible that Arnica 30c in the wet dose which you will make up in the same manner described above can also help his edema. It will help with his sleeping and he can take a teaspoonful of this remedy 3 times daily after shaking the bottle hard every time.

Please note that although Homeopathic remedies are made from Vegetable and Animal matter they cannot be classified as Herbal or Animal in ORIGIN. They are potentized to infinitesimal levels. For instance the 6c potency that I prescribed for the Nat Sulph is 1/1Million Millionth of the original salt which is Sodium Sulphate also known as Glaubers Salt.
