Chronic Kidney/Renal Failure Fibrosis/Scarring

Hypertension, infections, drugs and other modalities can result in Kidney/Renal Fibrosis/Scarring..

The question is what can be done to reverse the Fibrosis Fibroblast Process or Matrix? For example: Dr Kalluri of Beth Israel in Boston did a study with BMP-7/Bone Morphogenic Protein 7 and was successful..

Hopefully this will lead to additional remedies..

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.

I have read about BMP7. Why are they sitting on it if it is a success. You still can't get it anywhere for Kidney Failure although I think it is available to treat bone fractures.

Ortho Biotech of Johnson & Johnson has been moving slowly, but it has reached the Last Preclinical Stage and the next step will be Human Clinical Trials..

I believe lots of people are waiting..

Aren't they too slow? There are 67,000 people waiting for kidney donors and the rate is increasing.
