herniated disc in lower back

hi all.
i had this problem before after being in a car crash, nothing ever helps me, i usually take paracetamol but as i am taking arnica 30c in the wet dose for other problem i also took ruta 30c and hypericum 30c ,just desperate and checked my homeopathy kit, my problem feels like i'm in week two because i can walk and normally after the third day i still cant move, so the remedies are working but the pain is still severe, is there anything else i can take plus i'm getting weakness and warmth down one leg

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
your selection is right.

arnica and hypericum are top remedies for herniated disc problems.

If you dont get enough relief you can increase the potency to 200 for arn & Hyp.

I have invariably been successful with Arnica 30c and Hypericum 200c for chronic back pain resulting from accidents both in the wet dose. I have used Arnica 200c but the results were not as promising as the 30c.

I would not recommend the Ruta however as I prefer to work with a minimum of remedies and I am confident that the Arnica and the Hypericum will help you. Hypericum is only good for about 4 hours and you can safely repeat the dose as long as you only use the Wet Dose therapy. It can aggravate in the dry dose pellets.

I presume that you know how to make the wet dose.

hi everyone,
since the back pain started i had a set back and put it out again, now i'm back on the mend but wondering if there is anything else i can try and what your ideas are, the pain has moved from the spine lower back just above my bum to the right hip behind it, more nearer to the wee indents that are on each side of the bottom of the back-bum, so the pain is there now, it feels like something needs pushed or pulled back into place like i need to crack something, my chiropracter moved away so i cant go to her, also i'm getting sciatica type weakness down that leg and on my shin theres a swelling, i dont understand what it is, its not bruised just swollen and sore to push, any ideas?, so if anyone can advise me, it would be great,

thanks Elaine

I noticed that you first posted your peoblem on September 22 and at that time you seemed to have been using Arnica and other remedies for some time. I then suggested that you stay with only the Arnica 30c and Hypericum 200 and I presume that you followed my advice.

You now state that you are 'getting sciatica type weakness down that leg and on my shin theres a swelling'.

You have not however indicated whether the Arnica has helped you at all with the Hypericum. You will appreciate that I cannot evaluate your case without more data and it is up to you to provide it.

Sorry Joe,
Its on another post, when i was taking the arnica 30c wet dose and hypericum 30c wet dose it was great i was healing well, then when my order of hypericum 200c came i made the wet dose and took some and starting getting anxiety symptoms and didn't notice it helping so i stopped, i have no hypericum 30c left so i'm just taking the arnica
thanks elaine
p.s. any idea on the swelling

If as you state you were healing well with the Arnica 30c and the Hypericum 30c both in the wet dose, you are advised to continue this therapy that has helped you, which I was not aware of as you already know.

You may like to know that it is the Arnica 30 that helped you with the healing of your back while the Hypericum 30c has only deadened the pain. I note that the Hypericum 200 which I have used in other cases to deaden the pain creates anxiety symptoms in your case and you must therefore stay with the Hyper 30c if it helps with your pain relief.

I regret that I cannot advise you about your swelling on your shin and I believe that you have had some injury of which you were not aware of as you state that there is some loss of feeling on your legs with the sciatica.

For how long have you used the Arnica 30c and how do you rate the healing of your back after you started on this remedy ? Can you describe as precisely as possible how the Arnica has helped you ?

Hi Joe,
I wrote about it on another thread, i think it was around the 19th sept my back went and i started taking the arnica and hypericum 30c in the wet dose, the only way i could describe my progress is i would normally still been lying down on the first week at that stage the pain is so unbearable still fresh and walking bent over and on my hands and knees, now i never got to the hands and knees stage and i would say i was in week three were ya start straightening up and the pain is dull and aching, i know its definately because of the remedy because i wasn't using anything else only paracetamol. now my back is achy because i've been standing all day, i have the sciatica as said, i only have hypericum 6c will i use that with the arnica

If your Sciatica is causing you discomfort, I can prescribe a remedy that will in all probability help to cure it but I would not like you to use it with the Hypericum which is purely for the pain as I do not normally like patients to use more than a maximum of 2 remedies at the same time.

hi joe,
i ran out of hypericum 30c over a week ago so all i have been able to use is the arnica and couldn't use the hypericum 200c, so will i able to use the remedy you are thinkin about, also i am still taking nat phos for my constipation,

The remedy is Colocynthis 200c to be taken in the wet dose as usual, 1 teaspoonful once daily in the morning.

Since you seem to be hypersensitive to medication you are advised to take just one teaspoonful and report your response before you take the next dose.

I am presuming that you have observed some improvement in your back pain after you started to take the Arnica 30c.

Please confirm.

It seems likely that you suffer from Sciatica.

Have you sought medical opinion for a diagnosis of what exactly the pain you suffer from is due to?

Tomorrow, I am going for an x-ray for my lower back.

I will update the findings/diagnose in a short file.

To Mrs87

'By the way I have started taking Arnica 30 thrice daily (Five drops of Arnica 30 in half cup of water).'

It is possible that your pain may even be aggravated by not following the therapy that I have perfected to make the Wet dose of a remedy:

You are advised to follow the guidelines below.

The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:

Order the remedy in the Ethanol pack also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard before you sip a capfull of the bottle or a large teaspoonful which is the dose.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this shaking must be done at least 6 times before sipping a capful of the bottle as prescribed.

To Asbasson

I presume that you have consulted an Orthopedic surgeon on your problem as it is important that you have an exact diagnosis with Xray';s of your Herniated Disc problem which I presume is also causing you considerable pain. From your description of your problem it is likely that Homeopathy may not be able to help you as your condition may be too severe for a cure.

I note that you are taking analgesics for your pain and you also mention of 3 relapses. It would be necessary that you give full details of how your problem occurred and also account for the relapses.

You have inquired about the Wet dose and I note the details below:

The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:

Order the remedy in the Ethanol pack also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.

I note that Maheeru has requested you to post your problem on a new thread and I too would suggest that you do so ASAP.
