Travellers diarrhea & Motion sickness

My family will be travelling soon, and my husband always gets travellers diarrhea with lot of pain, bowelmovements, nausea and vomiting. I get it too sometimes, though less often. We always take the precaution of using only boiled water (boiled for 10-15 mins for drink and cooking, but still there are occasions when we got sick eating after eating at a relatives place although they prepare food according to our instructions to use only boiled water....maybe at some point either they forget or accidentaly use regular water. And after that our entire vacation is ruined.

Is there homeopathic remedy to be used as a preventative for travellers diarrhea ? How about Ars. Alb ?
And can that medication be given to young kids as well.

Motion Sickness :
I get motion sickness if travelling by air. I have tried cocculus 30 on two occasions before and it did not help. Is there another remedy which may be more effective for me ?

I get severe nausea, dizziness, stomach upset though I have not got vomiting so far. I feel better when lying down or with sip of water. Food and smell of food makes it worse. Even slight turbulence with make it worse. At times I have wished that I simply pass out , its been that bad.
For the last 4 years, I usually end up taking allopathic medicine (Avomine/Dramamine , Stemetil/Gravol) which well makes me fall asleep, that I wish to avoid since we have kids travelling with us this time.

Dear rasignh, there are remedies which can be given for acute cases of travellers diahorrea, one of which is indeed Arsenicum, although it must be pointed out that many different remedies may be used for this condition, depending on the symptoms presented. It has to be said though, the symptoms listed do indeed sound like Arsenicum, and this is also more likely to be th eindicated remedy if the problem is recurring.

Re: The motion sickness, oddly enough, your symptoms of this would also pretty specifically suggest Arsenicum! Maybe you are both of an Arsenicum constitution.
Have either of you actually taken this remedy in the past?

Best wishes.

Dear Rasing,

I have found Cocculus Indicum to be a specific remedy for motion sickness whether road or air travel.
Take a dose (2 pills) of 200 potency may be half an hour before the journey.

This has worked with every one of more than 10 varied persons to whomI had suggested this.

Hope this works for you also.

Dear Rasing
Travellers diahrrea, with lot orf rumbling in stomach and associate discomforts especially with sudden rush for toilet is a common occurance due to intake of contaminated or irritable food on a suseptible stomach.

Take Aloe Soc. 30 two doses at 30 mts interval immediately after the discomfort is felt. Do not repeat.

Hope the same works for you.
Regards.
