If you were stranded on a desert island and had to learn homeopathy all over again
Hi Everybody,Just wanted to start a thread here to see what books/resources everybody recomends to learn homeopathy. If you were stranded on a desert island, had virtually no knowledge of homeopathy and could only have a few books of your choosing, which ones would they be? Which ones do you feel helped you the most to understand case tasking, choosing remdies, management of cases, acute/chronic, miasms etc.
I'm sure the Organon would be top on the list, how about any others? Very curious to find out what everybody thinks. Short of going back in time and studying with Hahnemann himself (man, what question would you ask Hahnemann if you did have the chance??), what do you suggest?

Wonderful 'homeopathyguy'....classical homeopaths will sit at Hahnemann's feet and not ask anything ...because as per their statements.... everything is already 'clear as a crystal' in the Organon.
It will be guys like me and Kuldeep who will be doing all the talking with 'Uncle Hahnemann'. Because we have a lot of questions to ask....we also believe that learning never ends in life.
I guess 'Maheeru' also has some interesting questions to ask.

Yeah sure pankaj, the master will have a volley of questions from me as inquisitiveness is in my nature. I will also thank him for revealing his philosophy on Homeopathy. Homeopathic remedies when slightly deviated from strict classical point of view could be used to conceive male heir for those couples who simply can't conceive male offsprings. When we can give such satisfaction to those couples,we'll surely remember the Master.
Obviously the credit for classical/non classical cures belong to Hahnemann.

One of my favorite books is Hahnemann Revisited by Dr. Luc DeShepper. Touches on most all aspects of classical homeopathy including LMs and miasms. It of course not a repertory or Mat Med but a book to help understand the philosophy.

I am totally in agreement with your grandpa's advice.Only those who are willing to learn all the time end up becoming great teachers.
As for the must read books, i will go with all the boks recommended by others so far.To that list, i will add the following books:

Well, my answer was, to my perception, very much literal to the word 'island', which you did describe. I would not know whether you meant 'literally' or not.
INCIDENTLY, there are no 'SCHOOL' in United States, that teach professional Homeopathy. BUT yes, there are Colleges and Institutes which would be doing that. You would have to do the homework yourself in finding these colleges / institutes within your residential jurisdiction.
- (I hope 'school' too is not a literal word ........ )
- (Apologies, but I do not have the capacity to undestand hints or literal's)
AND, yes there are thousands of Books available on the concept and practise of Homeopathy besides several hundreds of websites which can give you the basics of Homeopathy. Pick up any book written by a professional and it will suffice your purpose.
However, at the most, these books / websites, will 'FAMILIARISE' you with SOME concept of the Homeopathic Materia Medica and the Repertory. But these won't teach you the finer intricacies of Homeopathy drug picture & drug signatures and neither the art of undestanding Anatomy, the steps to the disease picture, the body-language reading concept, the psychological aspect of case reading ......
Homeopathy is ONLY for people who SKIN the hair of Homeopathy. (BAAL KI KHAAL nikalna) and
would be understood only by serious homeo's having a acadamic razor-sharp-bent of mind. Prejudiced non-professional-bookish-homeopaths will ONLY SPLIT (as in breaking up into pieces) the hair (fabric / concept / principles) of Homeopathy and have a erratic tendency of consistently SPLITTING up of Homeopathy.
MAYBE, this will help you a bit :
ON HOMEOPATHY :
Homeopathy is macro nano science. To understand it, it takes reasoning more than intelligence or knowledge. Most qualified Homeopaths are qualified 'q u a c k s'. The best of the homeopaths will practice homeo medicines on the THIS FOR THAT symptoms, making Homeopathy seem as 'q u a c k e r y'.
