Bad Homeopathic Practice

I sent my cousin to see a homeopath. She prescribed her a remedy and didnt tell her what it was. The remedy has shown positive results. I told her to find out what it is and what potency. She called and the homeopath refused to tell her. She just mentioned that it is from the Geranium Family. Can someone please tell me the remedies that are from the geranium family. So we can try to figure out what the remedy is.

Im pis.sed off at this homeopath. I know she doing this so my cousin will keep going back to her and spending more money.

Thanks,
Jay

Apart from the above 2, there is geranium sanguinem which is less known. These three are used as herbal supplements as well as in homeopathic potency.

Mainly remedies from this genus and family geraniaceae are used as an astringent(constrict tissues opposite to dilator). Therapeutic uses are haemorrhages including pulmonal, acne, swollen breasts, luecorrhoea, kidney affections, jaundice, stomach ulcers.

She is suffering from panic attacks. Im sure other things were discussed as well. Does this possibly jive with one of these three remedies?

Hi

it could have been germanium.

It definitely has panic attacks.

I have to get myself a Materia Medica!!!

Im assuming all three have panic attacks and its a matter of reading through each remedye thouroughlly to find out which one was likely prescribed.

Hello Jay15

Geranium Maculatum is more widely known and also the only remedy from this family to be described in Boericke's Materia medica. But this doesn't have strong indication of panic attacks.

But it sometimes is used in troubles of menopause. So there's a chance that it'd have been prescribed for associated menopause troubles.

May be remedy doesn't belong to geranium family as Murthy said above.

Bad homeopathic practice . With positive results?
Unless this dr is over charging, why not let it be ?

It's a good practice to talk and
discuss openly about the medicine and treatment protocol.
A patient has every right to know what goes in his/her body. Also transparency helps to antidote earlier medicines in case of problem and also for further treatment with another physician.

When this is good practice, the contrary is bad obviously!!!

Homeopath may have lied about Geramium family to keep you in total dark. People rarely use this remedy.

Sycotic,

Maybe its not a bad practice or unusual practice, to me I just question the reason for not telling even when she was specifically asked what it was. My only thought is that if she does not disclose the remedy, the patient will keep comming back, possibly much longer than she needs to.

I agree somewhat I have no problem with sharing the remedy and even studing it out with the patient if they wish. Not all homeopaths have the time or take the time or care to do so. You could understand the dilema. Its alot about the time it takes to work with a patient like this , and I could imagine some may not be comfortable with this. Be thankful they took the time to find a good remedy for your friend.

Regards

Ps if they are on an LM potency this does entail more frequent contact at first. If they have been given a c potency they should not really be seen more than once a month even two months , under normal circumstances.
