Concerns about Arnica 6c

I have been using Joe's remedy of Arnica 6c in the wet dose for 53 days now, for my eczema.

Recently I have read a few things about arnica on the web, that has scared me.

Is Arnica 6c dangerous to be taken internally?, I have read that it may cause blood pressure and heart problems, even to people who have no history of heart problems.

Can someone please explain if Arnica 6c is safe to be taken?, I have now discontinued it after reading on the web, and are any associated side-effects with it?.

Should I be concerned about my health?.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Is there any improvement in the Eczema?

Did you notice any new symptoms, which were not there before taking Arnica?

I note that you have expressed concern about using Arnica 6c for the last 53 days to treat your Eczema. You have not indicated if it has helped you and I too would like to know if it has done so when you are advised to continue with its use.

My experience in the treatment of Eczema in many hundreds of cases is that there is considerable improvement in the first week when the lesions all dry up with the constant irritation recedes and in a few weeks thereafter the remedy is not required anymore.

You may like to know that I have used Arnica on a nightly basis since 1996 and have absolute admiration for this incredible remedy. You may like to read a short article in which I have listed the many uses of Arnica that I had posted some time ago on:

http://www.abchomeopathy.com/forum2.php/42450/

There is absolutely no danger whatsoever in using Arnica on a daily basis for as long as you feel that it is doing you some good and it is likely that you may discover other ailments in my article above that can help you or your friends to overcome common ailments which medicine does not have a suitable drug to cure it like for instance Acne which Arnica invariably eradicates very safely.

You have expressed concern that is can 'cause', which I presume you mean raising Blood Pressure and you are assured that many hundreds of patients whom I have treated for Hypertension have reported exactly the reverse, that their BP had been lowered within a few days of starting on this remedy. The potency for lowering BP is however 30c and not 6c which is the potency for the treatment of Eczema.

You have stated that you have discontinued its usage as you fear some side effects and I shall be very interested to learn what, if any, these side effects have been up to now.

Who are those hundreds of patients?

Give me some email addresses.

I would like to cross check with them, as to the long term effects.

P.S. What worked for Joe need not work for you.

A material substance will affect every body in the same way.

A substance, which doesn't have any material of the medicine;which is purely an energy medicine will act differently on different people.

Some may get benefitted by it.

Some may become worse with prolonged usage.

a406a4,

Specifically what did you read about Arnica where. Could you provide a link?

Are you certain you were reading about Arnica 6C, or about herbal doses of Arnica? There are precautions for herbal doses around the net.

gavinimurthy, I haven't noticed any new symptoms since I've been taking Arnica 6c, it seems as though it has had no effect.

Joe, I haven't noticed any side effects so far, but I am now concerned about using it, I rather live with the eczema than have it potentially cause other problems.

Will88, after reading around abit more, I have come to the understanding that it is the Arnica in the herbal form that is advised not to be taken internally, and homeopathic form is ok, am I correct?.

Generally speaking, is Arnica 6c safe to take?, and should I be worried for taking it?.

I am glad that you gave a frank answer.

If it has not helped you even after 50 days, it is not going to help you.

You are lucky that there are no new symptoms. It means you are not susceptible to the medicine.

It won't help you, either in a good way or a bad way.It is as if taking a spoon of plain water everyday.

You are advised to stop taking it further and look for alternatives.

Best is to consult a competent classical homeopath.

It is true that the herbal form of Arnica is likely to cause more problems compared to homeopathic arnica in potencies.

However, if you are susceptible to the medicine, even homeopathic arnica is capable of bringing out symptoms, that are peculiar to it,on prolonged usage.

Please don't hesitate to ask, if you have further questions.

Dear Dr.Sajjad Akkram

I have read the posts by Dr.Sajjad Akram on Hypertension because i also suffer from the same.

You prescribed Arnica and Calc flour for hypertension in one of your posts.

But in Materia Medica of Boericke , the dosage for calc flour is given as follows:-
' Dose.--Third to twelfth trituration. A 'chronic' remedy. Needs some time before manifesting its effects. SHOULD NOT BE REPEATED FREQUENTLY.'

After reading this i had some confusion. Can you please throw some light on the restriction that why this medicine should not be repeated frequently.

As given in Dr.Schussler's
12 Tissue remedies,(Boericke),Calc Flour is described as a medicine to be given when the blood vessels has already lost the elasticity and is to be prescibed to tighten up the blood vessels.
But in your post this medicine is prescribed when the patient is already having Blood pressure due to tightening of the arteries. Would'nt the medicine prove to be counterproductive , if we go by the characterestics of the medicine described in the standard texts?
let me quote the relevant paragragh from the book,

'... In the human body, Calcarea Fluorica, Calc. fluor., or Calcium Fluoride, is found in the surface of the bones and in the enamel of the teeth. It is also a constituent of the elastic fibers of epidermal tissues such as:
Skin
Connect Tissue
Vessel Walls
A disturbance in the balance of Calc. fluor. or Calcium Fluoride in any of the body tissues, can cause a chronically relaxed condition of any of the associated tissues. If the elastic fibers of any portion of the vessels of the connective tissues or lymphatic system have arrived at such a state of relaxation, it is thought that the osmotic transfer of body fluid can be interrupted and that fluids will accumulate in these cellular tissues. It is also known that when the elastic fibers of the blood vessels are disturbed by an imbalance of the molecules of Calc. fluor. or Calcium Fluoride, enlargements of blood vessels can take place such as:
Piles, hemorrhoids
Varicose or Enlarged Veins
Hardened Glands
Organ Displacements
Weakened Abdominal Walls
Hemorrhages of Organs or Tissues.....'

Any body else in this forum who can clear my doubts, also will be most welcome to reply to this post.

with regards,
Anil Iype.

gavinmurthy, is there a specific set of symptoms or side-effects related to Arnica 6c?, or is it that the symptoms and side-effects differ from individual to individual. Is it possible that symptoms could appear after discontinuing the use of a remedy?.

And an important question, this won't cause serious problems like heart problems or cancer will it?.

I have stopped taking Arnica 6c and won't be taking it henceforth.

Don't worry.

You are not affected in any way, by the Arnica 6c you took.

There won't be any further problems since you stopped taking it.

You have just taken a sip of water everyday, and you thought you are taking a medicine.

It is as simple as that.

Forget about it.Nothing to worry.
