Viral Gastroenteritis- Two year old..

My son who is two years old has been suffering from Viral gastroenteritis(diagnosed) from Tuesday - 07/11/06 . Before that he would wake up the in the middle of the night for three consecutive nights crying and vomit a bit.

On 07/11/06 on somebody's advise I had given him Ipecac 30C--- 2 drops 4 times a day. That day he was vomiting a lot especially on immediate taking of food.

From the next day he started having very watery yellow stools alongwith vomiting. That day from evening on somebodys advice, I gave him arsenic alb 30C alternating with Aloe Sac 30C - ( 4 globules) alternating every hour hour except of course when he was sleeping !!

Yesterday (3rd day) the same treatment was continued , He vomitted only once in the evening but his stools (Thrice) was very yellowish ,watery & explosive.

He doesnt want to have food at all and is getting weak.

Now somebody is recommending NUX VOM-30C 2 drops 4 times a day !!

I AM VERY CONFUSED & WORRIED ABOUT THE TREATMENT .. IS THE POTENCY TO BE INCREASED OR THE MEDICINE TO BE CHANGED??

PLEASE EXPERIENCED HOMEOPATHS HELP !!

GOD BLESS U ALL !!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please give him one dose of pulsatilla 200 and wait for 24 hrs and report me the improvement.

If Pulsatilla 200 doesn't give relief, (It will help, I think) then take croton trig 30 two doses in aday for two days.
This will surely help.

Hi Gautam

It is always better to get treated here, on the forum, as we all will be watching, and can caution you, in case of dangerous prescriptions, which are dished out some times.

if correct medicine is chosen, acute problems disappear fast.Beginners can't see the picture clearly, and try different medicines in quick succession. As long as they are indicated,at least partially, there is no harm, as the intensity of the problem quickly exhausts the action of the medicine.

You can try robina's suggestion, in case Puls fails to relieve.

Better still, post the condition, once again, onthe forum, for further guidance.

Never correspond by e mail with strangers, till you get confidence in them, their prescribing skills, and their methods.

Give him oral supplements quite often. Mix some sugar, and a bit of salt, in well boiled and cooled water, and give him frequently.

There are ready made, oral supplements available in the medical shops without prescription. You can try them too. I forgot the brand names.

It is very important to prevent dehydration,in cases of Diarrhoea.

If the diarrhoea is continuting, and the situation looks critical, you must take help from a competent homeopath in person.

If no such persons are available, near you, take him to a good paeditriciian.

Contrary to popular belief in homeopathic circles, treatment by allopathy doesn't do much harm, and has to be resorted to, in case proper homeopathic help is not available in emergencies.

Whatever suppession the allopathic treatment causes, can be attended to subsequently with homeopathy.
