Combinations are prescribed only when symptoms are not clear. Most of the time the patient do not tell us what we want for the selection of the remedy. For example the time of onset of the disease, the time of increase or decrease of the complaint, under what circumstances the complaint increases or decreases and the causation of the disease and all other related informations which are vital.Parsonal symptoms which have no direct relationship to the disease but are very much important for homeopathic prescripion for example desires and aversions regarding food and drinks etc. These are the realities. In actual practice this is the routine matter, that is why combinations are frequently prescribed with success and that is gaining popularity. We must not ignore realities.
In your case if your physician prescribed Rhus tox and arnica, you can alternate them at 3 hours intervals,no need to use in combination.
sajjad.
