This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Another question, can anybody tell me if combination of remedies are dangerous and why?

Hi Joaquin

Answer to the Second question first. :-)

Read this thread

'Don't even touch combinations'

and come back if you have any further questions.

great discussion, sure. I note, as in other specialities like Feng shui, that there is several visions of the same thing, and so the applications are totally different.
I'm a beginner in homeopathy and as a scientist that doesn't know how homeopathy cures (I don't know if it's through quantum physics)I am quite disoriented about it.
In Spain (as in Europe) you can find easily in pharmacy combination of remedies for everybody and almost every ailment (from BOIRON, DHU, etc).
I see clearly that a 'cure' with combination remedy is difficult to follow, but I see as well that cure with a single remedy could be used for chronic illness, unless the homeopath be very good to find quickly a single remedy for a acute process. Then, luck we are that have allopathy!

Joaquín last decade
Combination remedies are popular as they are simpler to select. Just like allopathy.

However the results too are likely to be similar to allopathy.

I agree that selecting a single medicine is a bit difficult, but once you ever feel the miracles of it, you will definitely be more loyal to that concept than I am. :-)

I know it is dificult to find such single remedy prescribers in Europe, but if you hunt enough, may be you will find one.

As I assume you know in Europe a lot of people (incluided many homeopaths) look for only the moeny, it's not easy to find a good and competent homeopath.
Then, another question, when somebody has at the same time two different ailments, it's assumed that only one remedy will cure both, isn't it? so, if the problem is not long lasting in time, takes allopathy and the ailments goes away, in this case homeopathy is not helpful. I mean, homeopathy is clearly oriented to chronic diseases (mental or physically speacking).
As Sameer prescribed me I'll try Merc. sol. 200c.

I'm still waiting for information sources

Best regards,
Joaquin

Well , homeopathy is powerful enough to cure acute diseases as well.. but sometimes the time wasted in chosing the correct remedy makes the condition a lot worse. This is because usually the acute diseases are very aggressive in onset.

So, it becomes prudent at times to get relief using allopathy.

For chronic diseases , classical homeopathy is the way to go :)

Thanks to people like Murthy, it is still alive on these forums :)

You need to procure and read the following books in the same order.

The Organon by Hannemann

The lectures on homeopathic philosophy by Kent

Hannemann revisited by Dr.Luc

Once you are through these three books, I will suggest further reading.

I have the two first, I have to found the third one.
Thanks Murthy

Read books by Robin Murphy

For questions to the authors go to the forum at minimudotcom. Go all the way down the list and click on 'forum'

Homeopaths generally have different points of views. So read Robin Murphy for a different point of view.

Some homeopaths believe in combinations and some don't.

Keep an open mind. Why put restrictions on your mind.

Homeopathy is sometimes trial and error and sometimes even matching symptoms doens't work. And sometimes the similian will only cover some symptoms. Don't be afraid to try remedies even if only one symptoms matches.

The only homeopath near my city uses combination remedies. I suspect she is very busy and has to send her patients home with combination remedies in case one doesn't work the other one might. Using combination remedies lowers her risks of losing her patients permanently.

Homeopathy like everything else is about money. Even homeopaths are in competition with each other for money. Read books with a grain of salt and an open mind.

Hi allergic,
Thanks for your advice. So, the homeopath near your city prefers not to lose patient instead cure and give a good service and keeping the health of people.
I'll try to find books of Robin Murphy.
One thing have I clear, homeopathy is trial and error, trial and error,...

minimum.com has an excellent assortment of homeopathic books and the authors are there answering questions as well. Also check out bjainbooks.com where they have good prices. Google around for used book stores also.

The homeopath that has her practice near my home charges $70 for each follow up appointment so she has to send people home with more than one remedy to increase the chances of positive results. She is very clear in saying that she uses combination remedies.

Hi,
finally I've found Hahnemman revisited by Dr. Luc, but it's price is quite high (70$ or 45€). I found it in minimun.com.
In bjainbooks.com it's price is 9.5$.Incredible.Which is the approxreal price?.The problem is that delivery zone is only Asia and Africa. Does everybody know how can I get this book at a lower price?is it free available in any web?

Joaquín last decade
Unfortunately it is not available on the net.

If any of your friends are visiting India perhaps they can procure it and bring it for you. That way it will be lot cheaper.

It is available in all leading homeopathic bookshops
in India.

Murthy

gavinimurthy last decade
Why is so cheap in India?I think you are quite more advanced in Homeopathy than us (=Spain).I'll see what can I do, perhaps if I hunt a little I could take a surprise

Joaquín last decade
Indian people buy more than 50% of any homeopathic book that is in print. India has close to 400,000 homeopathic doctors, and many more unqualified practitioners like me. Even if 25% of them buy books it is a huge market.

Since the volume of buisiness is high, the rates are low.

I understand. In Spain Homeopathy is considered not a real medicine. Allopathic doctors haven't a good opinion of homeopathy. But luckily, even more people is getting used to go and appreciate homeopaths.
I've found the book in an Indian on line books seller, it's price is quiet low (15€). I must hunt a little more

Dear Joaquín,

A few other reasons for the cheaper price are:
1) The printing quality. Books published by the original publishers in west are of better quality.
2) In India labour cost is comparatively cheaper.

Whenever I visit Delhi, I make a point to visit the B. Jain Publisher and spent at least half a day. They have really a good collection. Last month when I was in Delhi, I bought books worth of Rs.1,200 (US$30) from them and they gave me a discount of 20% on the listed price. I sometimes do see customers from foreign countries there as well.

manzul last decade
I totally agree with manzul.

A friend of mine ordered bookes from B. Jain Publisher and they are lower quality printing but he paid only one penny for some of his books although the shipping averaged out to about $5.00 a book.

The more you order the more you save.

He got one book that was very badly printed and he got a free replacement with his next order. B. Jain treat their customers great.

I think it is great to get an assortment of books from Indian authors because a lot of homeopaths are self taught and don't necessarily follow the classical homeopathy. You get exposed to a variety of skill and of course more options and more for you to ponder on.

Look at the whole picture if you are ordering online. Look at the total price of a book including shipping compared to what it would cost at someplace like amazon or barns and nobles.

allergic last decade
I often buy books via Internet from B.Jain and also from Aggarwal Book Cntre also in Delhi. Even with shipment they are much cheaper than here (usa).

Joaquin: I'm also by training a scientist (microbiologist) - and I also heard that quantum physics might have some explanation of healing with homeopathy.
But the physics I had in college mostly concentrated on optics and I know nothing about Q.P.

Anyone know of any sources for homeopathic medicines(gels, Mother Tinctures, remedies) in India that will ship to USA.

Google for SBL India, Ramakrishna homeo,Hyderabad.

Some reference about quantum physics-homeopathy studies?
and about any Epidemiological study referred to hoemopathy?I mean serious studies, from Universities or authorized centers.

Murthy, you are an inexhaustible
information source!
Congratulations

Hi again Murthy,
I'm trying to connect to bjainbooks and it's impossible. Do you know another publisher who sell homeopathic books in spanish?

'Another question, can anybody tell me if combination of remedies are dangerous and why?'
Prescribing remedies as combinations is in direct opposition to one of the main founding principles of Homoeopathy.

Many combinations will also contain remedies which are inimical to eachother, or antidote eachother, but above all, the 'vital force' can only react to one remedy at a time, and to throw a combination at it therefore, merely confuses it. Sometimes this will rectify itself, and seek out the ONE remedy in the combination which is needed, but more often it just remains in this state of confusion until the effect of ALL the remedies have worn off, and the patient is back where he started.
In some patients, this 'state of confusion' will even continue until the problem is rectified by applying antidotes etc.

Combinations are not a good idea.
