18 month old boy with green goopy eyes and fever Page 2 of 3

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
No any medication right now.

Let us see fever which has tended to come in the forenoon.

Describe his runny nose?
which time it is worse?
What causes worsening of this?
which time is better.
What causes this better.
Discharge
watery, think, think, yellow, etc.,.

Here is 10:30 pm so i would be able to answer after 9 hours.

He should do well, but you should avoid him from exposure to cold winds.

His runny nose is mostly clear with yellowish-green streaks. It is quite thick. It is running all day. His nose does not seem to be plugged as he is a thumb-sucker and would be very irritated if he could not breathe and suck his thumb. I have not noticed if something is making it worse because it seems to be constant.

He is definitely preferring to eat/drink warm foods and beverages and not cold. So I suspect he is feeling chilled.

I am keeping him warm and covered. I will watch for fever - yesterday he had no fever so I hope today is good as well.

Thank you.

I did not get a chance to post last night because now that my son is doing a little better - my two other children want my attention and honestly, I fell asleep reading bedtime stories to them.

My son did not have a fever yesterday and his runny nose got better throughout the day. He is still coughing sometimes and yesterday coughed so hard he vomited!?

Any suggestions? Thank you. Other than the terrible cough and a little runny nose, he seems to be fine.

as per ur another night passed.

what about his cough last night?

Dr. Rakesh Km Lko last decade
8:00 am PST

He was up in the night coughing a couple of times. But not as bad as the previous nights. He did not vomit from these coughing episodes. He vomited in the evening yesterday around 6pm. I was not here, my husband told me about it.

In the night, he was awake for awhile and wandered between my bed and the other children's beds which was unusual.

The night-time coughing did not keep me awake wondering if he would be alright... so I trusted my 'mother's intuition'.

His runny nose is not green so far this morning - he woke up about 30 minutes ago. Just a whitish colour and clear.

His appetite is still very small - which is unusual for this boy and he is still unusually fussy.

Ok,

Last medication used and which one.

His last measured weight and height (when)and take his current weight and height

He seems to do rather fine so it is time to search his Constitutional medicine which would help him lot.

What is his current weight and height?

What about his walking? It is normal, great, faulty? or anything else?

What about his speech?

What about his skin? Anything notable?

What about his nails?

Dr. Rakesh Km Lko last decade
Last medication used was the ipecec 30c night before last night.

His height is 30.5 inches (about 79cm) and his weight at the doctors office on Wednesday was 9.47kg (21lbs) - Friday before at the hospital it was 9.9kg (22lbs).

His walking is normal (walked at about 11 months old). His balance on rocky surfaces is less stable than my previous two children.

His speech is slower than my other children (two girls), but he does say a few words. He tends to be more physically inclined in communicating. If he is hungry, he will bring me a plate, if thirsty, he will bring me a cup. If he is angry he will throw something (far!). He has a temper. He is bright and smart, and anticipates others needs. If he sees me setting the table for dinner, he will find the plates and pass them to me.

He loves to be outside.

Normally, he loves to eat, and will often eat as much as I do - but he is not fat. This is why I have noticed how little he is eating since being unwell.

He sucks his thumb (since birth) and will suck his thumb to soothe himself when he is upset or tired and play with his belly button or private parts (if accessable).

His skin and tongue are normally clear. He had allergies to milk and peanuts and ??? until a few months ago but seems to have grown out of the allergies. He would react with big red hives (blisters to peanuts) on his face and skin when in contact with them. He will still react with hives to some other things that I haven't identified, but they are not serious reactions.

His nails are clear and wide and healthy looking. His toe-nails tend to curl upwards away from his toes if that is significant?

Thank you again.

Sorry one more thing - I may be misunderstood by what I wrote above, my son does not always have a temper. Generally his disposition is very easy going and smiley. It's just that when he does get angry - he shows it by throwing something far or banging something hard - but that's not so very often.

Yet one more thing - he likes to eat eggs and sweet things - fruit, especially berries. My girls did not like eggs so that is something different from them. Also, he really has just started to like eating meat as well.

Two more things that may be relevant - he was and is late to get teeth.

He also eats large bites and swallows quickly without chewing well. So we have had problems with him choking on his foods.

Thank you for asking.

My son is still coughing badly - a deep loose cough, but the past two days there has been no vomiting from the cough. His face gets very red when he is coughing.

He still has a runny nose - green/white/clear and thick. It is running all day but especially in the morning. His eyes have become a little bit goopy as well, but not nearly so bad as before.

His energy levels are back to normal.

He is sleeping well.

His appetite is still low from what it was before he was sick.

There is a lot of mucus in his stool. His stools are very loose and many times during the day.

symptoms
runny ++
cough++
stool X1 (this morning)
thirstless +

Please let me know if there is anything I can give hime to relieve these symptoms.
Thank you.

My son's condition is unchanged since yesterday. Except to say that he had 5 stool all day all loose and poorly digested. He has developed rash due to the diarrhea.

If he is dull, feeling chilly (wanting much clothing, warm room, etc) and has much thirst (i.e. drinking enough water) and wants to be mother or somebody near (not liking being alone) offer him eggs and sweets to notice that he is liking these at present also then Gave him Calc Carb 30c dissolve 2-3 globules/drops in one glass of water and gave one teaspoon from this water every hour for three hour and then make another glass and repeat the same so for nine hours there would be nine glass and nine teaspoon.

If he is anxious and restless, does not have any thirst, and feeling hot (desiring cold room , no clothes, fun running etc) and head, palms, and soles feel hot to touch then Give him Sulphur 30c by same manner described above.

If there is cold foggy rainy weather for rather quite long time then Gave him Dulcmara 30C 2-3 globules at 10 minute interval.

Maintain good hydration with good hygiene.

Your child probably got viral gastroenteritis or just an stomach upset.

Describe rash: local or diffuse also.

Those top two scenarios do not seem to really apply.

He seems fine dressed in comfortable clothing - not hot or cold. He has been refusing eggs and sweets - or eating only very small amounts of them. He has not eaten very much of anything. Currently, he is very happy eating frozen blueberries :-) It pleases me that he is eating something!

I have reason to think he may be getting teeth - he keeps biting his father and me - unususal behaviour for him! I believe Calc Carb can be helpful during teething difficulties?

He does not seem anxious or restless. He has not been thirsty, but his palms and soles are not hot. His disposition is very happy again.

He is not especially hungry or thirsty at this time. (although as I write, he approached me with a plate to make him something to eat! a good sign!)

We have had cold foggy weather for the past few days or so (it's very common in our area). I do not have Dulcmara, so I will have to wait and see if the rash clears on it's own, unless you have another suggestion. At this point I am not too worried about it. I know when the diarrhea clears, the rash will also clear.

The rash is local. So far he has had only one stool all day. So it may be clearing already.

I gave him the pulsatilla this morning as suggested. He nose is still running profusely, but perhaps not quite so thick and green - I will keep watching and post any changes or not.

What do you advise for this time?

Thank you very much. My expectations have been very much exceeded from this site/forum by your kind guidance!

8:50 pm PST

I am online now for another hour or so before we go to sleep.

We have had another violent coughing where my son vomited after getting chilled outside. That occurred about half hour ago. Otherwise - he ate very well at dinnertime - good appetite! His nose is running still but clear.

Do you have a suggestion based on what I wrote previously?

Thank you.

Wait and report in morning with symptoms of cough, stool, dull, chilly or hot, and sleep. Try to get Ferrum Phos 6x, Bromium 30C, Dulcamara 30C. These medicines should usually indicated for your child. In the night there is a coughing attack gave him ANTIM TART one dose

Dr. Rakesh Km Lko last decade
Are you suggesting these remedies as constitutional remedies?

I will try to get them soon. I have to go to the city in about two weeks - and can pick them up then.

Thank you.

jessboy last decade
these are not constitutional medicines, but are frequently used and useful for commmon cold and fevers.

There is great weather, here is too hot about 43 dc.

Update his condition

Good morning. Sunny here today! but only 6C so far this morning - I'll take some (but not all :-) of your 43C on this side of the world!

My son slept well all night, but has thick green mucus in his eyes and nose again. It is only the thick green snot this time - no clear mixed in.

He still is coughing a very loose 'wet' sounding cough. It is breaking up, but he swallows it so I cannot see what colour the mucous is.

He did not want to eat very much rice pudding for breakfast but is happily eating frozen blueberries again. Did I mention he ate a full dinner yesterday evening?!

Only two stool yesterday - one in the morning and one in the evening. So I hope the diarrhea is clearing up.

When he woke up, he was a little fussy and wanted to be held for a few minutes. So I held him while I cleaned his eyes and nose until he was ready to eat something.

symptoms
runny ++ very thick and green
cough++ wet and loose sounding
stool not yet this morning
thirstless +

Sorry, I forgot to mention that his rash is all cleared up. J.

jessboy last decade
Gave him Puls 30c 2-3 pills or drops dose at three times 10 minute interval and report after 8 hours after medication.

Your son would be able to tolerate these cold with good ease as treatment goes go.
