Heavy Menstrual Clotting
I am 48 yr old female, having very heavy menstrual bleeding for last 3 weeks, and with clotting for last 7-10 days. Clotting is dark colored and is worse in the evening. The periods came after 3-4 months. Last time I had this issue was 2 yrs back. Feeling very weak because of this. Can anybody suggest any remedy please? You are most likely at your Menopause and what you are suffering right now is a acondition called metrorrhagia.
Please take 3 wet doses of Crocus sativus 30c separated by 30 minutes each on a SINGLE DAY ONLY.
Put 2 pills / drops of the remedy in some 100ml of mineral water. Allow it to dissolve for some 10 minutes. Shake the bottle for 10-15 times and take one teaspoon as one dose.
Let us know of the effect of the remedy in a day from taking the remedy.

Neil, Thanks for the prompt response. But I am not able to find Crocus Sativus where I live, I will have to special order it and it may take weeks...in the meantime, I took Lachesis 30C 3-4 times a day....that seems to reduce the clotting...still bleeding but way less, but I am very very weak and breathless, I am sure my blood count has gone very less as I am getting dizzy....Can you suggest something else please? And should I continue Lachesis.....I also took couple of doses of Hydrastis yesterday as I was desperate.....Appreciate all your help.

Please take the following:
- Hamammelis 6c - three doses three times a day. If 6c is not easily available, you may go ahead with 30c.
- Alphalpha Q (Mother tincture) - Three drops four times a day in half a cup of warm water.
You may continue with Lachesis 30c twice a day for a couple of more days.

Neil, I am ordering all these medicines, can you suggest any other I would need to order, in case these do not work....I am taking Lachesis 30 but menstrual bleeding is not stopping yet...still clotting but less than earlier, feeling very weak.

In addition, you can order Millefolium 6c. But, you will need to get the remedies fast.

Thanks. Also, meant to tell you that clotting & bleeding is worse in the evening, and in the morning upon waking up. Also, I have a bad headache upon waking up and also in the evening.....and I feel like feverish symptoms. Can anything else be taken in the meantime which can stop bleeding or clotting or the headache. I have ordered the medicines as you suggested. It will be a few days.

For your headache...you may take Belladonna 30c, three doses a day. The problem is timely arrival of remedies.
I will suggest that if you can't get them fast enuff, get to see a gynea. There are chances of Blood Pressure shooting up dangerously in these cases. Crocus would have solved your problem by now but unfortunately you could not get the same.
See a doc if you can't get the medicines in next 24 hours.

I just finished taking 3 wet doses of Crocus Sativus 30c as suggested by you. How much time do I need to wait before I know it is working and before start taking the Hamamelis & Alphalpha Q. Please advise on the next steps. Thanks so much.

A homeopath advised me to use Bio 15 or SOS in heavy bleeding - works great.
4 pills in a glass of water. Sip every half hour till it tapers off.

I just completed the repeat of next 3 doses of Crocus Sativus. Clotting is definitely less....Bleeding seemed to stop initially, but then was there towards the 11th/12th hour after taking the 1st set of medicine. Head spins after waking up....heart beat goes up after bath, weakness in general. On a minor tone, feel cold all the time. neck has been hurting since a few days, more so upon waking up. Please advise when to take the next dose.

Before making each dose, give ten hard hits to the remedy solution against an elastic surface.

Bleeding continues....and clotting also, but is less, but not going away.....Please advise , if I should increase frequency. After the initial positive effect, do not see much improvement now.

Hi, I am taking the medicine as suggested....bleeding seemed like less in the daytime yesterday; evening 4pm-8pm, some clotting did happen; 8pm-midnight felt good and energetic; last night, from midnight to 7am, good amount of bleeding with clotting happened; after bath today, taking medicine more often, seemed like almost stopped till 4pm, but bleeding & weakness since then. Please urgently suggest me what to do....also something for my weakness, it's not getting better. I am losing hope here. Appreciate your help.

I note that your bleeding has not abated since you first posted your case 2 weeks ago.
I have prescribed Arnica 30c in the Wet dose taken thrice daily to many patients like you and their response has been almost immediate as they all reported that in 24 hours their bleeding from which they had suffered for many months and in one case for over a year, was history.
If you decide to use my 'Joepathy' please also add Ferrum Phos 6x to help with your chronic loss of blood during the past few months. Dose 3 tablets taken thrice daily.
The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:
Order the remedy in the Ethanol pack also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard before you sip a capfull of the bottle or a large teaspoonful which is the dose.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this shaking must be done at least 6 times before sipping a capful of the bottle as prescribed.
Please note that my therapy is not strictly based on classical homeopathy although I use and prescribe the standard Homeopathic remedies. This is the reason why it has been labeled 'Joepathy' by the classical fraternity as my therapy invariably works sometimes overnight to cure the patient.

I have great respects for your prescription and I can the principle guiding you to suggest the medicines here.
Just curious, if Arnica works in such cases, will you be open enough to try on your other patients? or you will like to stick to traditional prescribing methods?

In order to answer your question, I would like to quote first from our literature:
Arnica for Female Complaints from Guiding Symptoms:
- Pains like from spraining in ovarian region (groin), obliging her to walk bent. θ Ovarian diseases.
- Metrorrhagia after coition. θ Prolapsus uteri.
- Bruised sore feeling remains after a hurt in abdomen, cannot walk erect. θ Prolapsus uteri.
- Prolapsus uteri caused by a concussion leaving a sore, bruised feeling in uterine region, which prevents her from walking erect.
- Ulcers of uterus with a tendency to bleed.
- Menses generally too soon ; nausea in epigastrium.
Menses too frequent and profuse. θ Prolapsus uteri.
- Bloody discharge between menstrual periods. θ Prolapsus uteri.
- Blood bright red with mixed clots. θ Prolapsus uteri.
- Uterine hemorrhage.
- Labia painfully swollen.
Arnica for Female Complaints from Clarke's Dictionary:
- Discharge of blood from the uterus, between the periods, with nausea
─Excoriation and ulceration of the breasts
─Soreness of the parts after a severe labour
─Violent after-pains
─Erysipelatous inflammation of the mammæ and nipples
─Violent stitches in middle of left breast
─Vomiting of pregnancy
─Threatened abortion from fall, &c
─Feeling as if ftus were lying crosswise
─Tumour of breast.
If we go through the symptoms, it is clear Arnica can be well incdicated in cases of Metrorrhagia / Menorrhagia in case symptoms match. But where are the symptoms matching in this case??
Haemmorhage fitting Arnica has to be bright red, never black. Arnica is a clean remedy and cannot be indicated in cases which show infection or degeneration of epithelia.
So, I would use it in cases of Menorrhagia where symptoms agree.
