Hi zady
The Medorrhinum has arrived. How should I dispense?

Also wanted to let you know that kinleys eczema is really horrible right now. She is scratching her skin bloody and raw again and the eczema is covering most of her body.

Also she is being incredibly defiant, angry, aggressive etc. She is demanding of everything and is throwing huge fits if things aren't exactly her way. Quite unusual.

Also she is very very thirsty.

Thanks zady!!!

Zady, good news!!!!! There was a clear and definite improvement!!

within 24 hours the eczema retreated to about 15% or less of her body. The only places she has it now are her ankles, behind knees, on her left hand and left inside of elbow. The eczema that covered basically her entire body has subsided greatly. Also the rough sandpaper skin is currently silky smooth.

What's interesting is that we saw a big improvement the first 48 hours, then a slight worsening on day 3. It still looks better then it did a week ago but it is slightly worse then it was at the beginning of the treatment.

What do you think it the best next course of action...

Ok, very good! Is there any change in sleep and mood

Zady101 9 years ago
yes in both.

sleep: suddenly in the last few days she doesn't want to take her nap, and when she finally does she is sleeping much less in length. Then at bedtime instead of falling right asleep she is up talking and getting up and down from bed investigating.

As for mood: she isn't 'quite' as moody. not quite as clingy. not quite as demanding. I use those statements lightly bc she is generally a spirited child, but she seems to be doing better on those fronts.

ugh. this is strange. this time upon giving the homeopathics kinley's skin got worse and remains so. It's definitely not the worst it's ever been but it's definitely there on all her joints again and behind her knees. She doesn't seem to be too horribly itchy, but I have to keep the sand paper like ankles and knees/wrists/elbow moist with lotion at all times or it bothers her.

I also noticed her moods got cranky again. She is happy most of the time but will wake up from naps terribly moody and also is throwing some fits again.

A strange and maybe unrelated issue came up yesterday. She was going to the bathroom and really straining yesterday when I saw two huge internal hemmerhoids pop out! they don't hurt at all but it was quite unsettling to see in a 2 year old. Her bowel movements are normal though--light brown, soft, not even having constipation anymore.

sleep--she seems very regular with her sleep lately...

Ok, pls wait for 5 more days n update again

Zady101 9 years ago
hello zady,
darnit, I'm so sorry I'm five days late in responding!!!

It's hard for me to give an accurate update bc she is SO up and down in her skin.

As of the last two to three days she is in another horrible flair. So once again, all of the joints are the 'regular' eczema, dry rough and insatiably itchy. but then if she goes outside (heat plus grass) or eats something off she gets what I now feel look almost like hives that cover most of her body. She cries and cries bc it hurts so bad. And usually by morning the massive inflammation is a bit better, only to cycle again within a few hours.

Her sleep is changing. she is very tired. This weekend she requested to take a nap at 10 am! she is almost 3 so this is highly unusual. and she slept for 3 hours.

She is weepy and moody. Cries upon waking and keeps crying for up to 30 minutes.

Her appetite has tanked. She will lick toppings off of a piece of bread but won't actually eat. she refuses breakfast. this morning she gagged and I thought would throw up but didn't.

She is having rock hard consiptated bowel movements. She has to push so hard that she now has two hemmorhoids! poor thing!

overall I think she is in a bit of a crisis. I can send pics if you would like.

thank you!!!!

Okay Zady, things are back under control! She still has a good amount of eczema, but it's not quite as severe as before, and her mood is definitely better. here is the update:

- the rough eczema that is always on her hands, elbows, knees, ankles has GREATLY subsided as of the last week or so. If you remember, her left hand has always been horrible, and as of today it was almost clear of the dry and rough skin.
BUT now she has multiple patches all over her body of the hive-looking red eczema. It was especially noticeable in the bath and afterwards---she has big red patches all over her bottom, both hands looked like they had red gloves on them, and all up and down her legs. But again, this looks different and feels different then the sandpaper like eczema she exhibits.

energy wise she is all over the place--tons of energy.

- sleep: she is sleeping 11 hours or more at night and a solid 2 hour nap during the day.

- appetite: she never wants to eat when she wakes up. ever. but she is always exceedingly hungry at nighttime right before bed. She craves meat, salt, and occasionally sugar.

- thirst: normal or even below normal.

-BM's: she is having bowel movements multiple times per day. one large on and the others are small and more constipated looking.

- In general she is doing pretty good but still her skin flairs so easily. but we certainly are doing so much better then a year ago and I know we will continue improving!!

thanks for your dedication Zady. we are coming up on a YEAR of support. wow, you are amazing.

Hi Zady,
Update on miss Kinley.

She really is up and down all the time with her skin. While she has some days where her skin looks decent, it will easily fluctuate and break out almost in almost hives still easily-- and often after school where she eats gluten, dairy, and sugar.

the patches on her hands that used to be horrible are not nearly as bad currently. In fact most of her dry patches overall are not quite as dry.

She still frequently has what looks like bright red burnt skin on the front and back of her knees, elbows, wrists and ankles.

Her entire legs are covered in patches of give looking skin. I'm sure this is eczema, but it is not always really dry looking.

The hive looking skin is very painful. she frequently cries in intense pain, asking us to put bandaids all over her body.

she is incredibly moody again. huge fits, violent moods where she kicks, hits. crying hysterically for long periods of time for no apparent reason.

she still does not eat breakfast. Then is hungry all day and wants to snack. hates 'real food' though that is what I give her to ensure nutrition and health.

She is still very very small. almost three and weighs 23 pounds. 12 month clothing. Her skin is rough, and her face has broken blood vessels and slight purple underneath her eyes.. Very pale.

Her BM's are awesome now! She goes two to three times a day.

She is sleeping a ton again. 2.5 hours for naps. 11 hours at night.

thanks again as always for all your help!!

Hi Zady,
I've been out of touch and I'm sorry! when I last wrote you I was on vacation and did not have the medorrhinum with me and forgot to give it to her when we got back in town. So I have not given her anything in a long time. here is her update.

her skin was looking relatively good! even without the medorrhinum. She went several days without us putting anything on her skin, which is a huge improvement.

But, on vacation we went to the ocean and the next day she had hive like rashes all over and staph bumps all over her bottom. We came home and after using topical creams for several days she improved.

Then, four days ago we went to a Fall festival and she played in hay and corn. Within 20 minutes she was covered in hives. Then she became severely congested.

The hives have somewhat subsided but the eczema is bad again. And she has developed a horrible, horrible deep cough. It sounds dry and very deep and rattly. It gags her and she coughs out of control. Nose is still congested and blood is mixed in the mucus. Her symptoms get much much worse if she is outside at all. Worse at night and when laying down. But also bad in the evening.

I'm not sure what to treat first--the skin or the cough! and should I wait on giving the medorrhinum?

sorry for being out of touch!

i am sor sorry for what you have been going thru. I have a 16 month old who has mild eczema and I can relate. I am homeopath myself and tried several homeopathic remedies. the other day I found this on a website Both of my children have had eczema and thankfully, I have been able to control it very easily. At three months my daughter came down with it on her face, her back and limbs. She cried a lot and scratched. The doctors prescribed all sorts of creams, however, my husband is a research scientist and would not allow there use. Most were very potent steroids. So, we researched and read about essential fatty acids, GLA in particular. I was nursing so I started taking borage oil as well as giving my daughter small amounts in her cereal. Within a week, her eczema was gone. I did not keep using the oil after the symptoms cleared, but every time there is any sign of it, the oil clears it quickly.

My son had the same issue at 4 months. However, his face was so bad that first we had to treat it with Bacitracin and cortisone for about 4 days. Then, with the oils he too cleared within a week.

I also used an infant probiotic to help build his friendly bacteria. He has NOT had eczema since and he is three now.

My daughter had a bout this past month, her first in years, she is 5 now. It did not respond to the oils. So, we looked for another reason and found out that zinc deficiency can cause dry skin/eczema. So, we gave her some and within 2 days, it is gone.

This is what worked for us. I understand that helpless, horrible feeling of not knowing how to help you child. Please talk to your doctor and see doses etc. for your child. Or seek the help of a holistic doctor. You can also research GLA and zinc and eczema on line.

I I ordered borage oil on ebay . it is $8.99 for 2 oz. I am not sure if it will cure but I am hopeful GOD willing he will do better. Also I atarted him on probiotics a couple days ago. I just crush our probiotics and put it in his oatmeal.
Remember even if food does not cause eczema it is very important to eat healthy. we don't even give our son fruit juices but fresh fruits are fine for him . After I started the probiotic he seems to be less itchy and his skin seems less inflamed. it is my belief that his eczema started when he was nursing on my breasts that I would apply topical antibiotic and antifungal for infection. May GOD make it easy for us and heal our children.

nmerachant: I have been working with Melissa offline as she is not able to trace this thread. If you want my assistance, let me know.

FYI, oil and stuff, etc won't work on eczema

Zady101 9 years ago
zady if you are able to please forward this to her. It is not for application. the oil is to be consumed and it has anti inflammatory properties. the women who used it found that it cured it . I being a strong believer in homoeppathy since I am a homeopath myself. have tried giving my son homeopathy. I would leave it up to her to choose if she wanted to try it out. As I also said probiotics that I gave my son for the last 3 days have helped him more than anything else I have given thank GOD

My 5 month old was having horrible, scaly, red eczema on his cheeks and back of his head, in the dry winter months. I tried other "baby eczema" lotions and balms and nothing worked. I ordered Foderma serum and within 2 days I saw an improvement, and it was almost completely healed after a week. I continue to use it twice a day in the winter and his skin looks so much happier! I highly recommend foderma serum!
