Update:
We have not been taking any homeopathics in about 5 days.

skin: her skin has been fluctuating in terms of the eczema. some days it's a bit worse, some days a bit better. Today the front and back of her knees looked better. the red/hot/inflamed skin is not there. There are dull patches but much better then a week ago.

her hands are also looking pretty good currently. They seem to be more inflamed at night, then a bit better in the morning.

--she still has clear/ear wax fluid draining from one of her ears. She had ear tubes placed a year ago, and the ear that is having fluid is the one in which the ear tube just fell out. what's interesting is that the week the tube was coming out she had a low grade fever, wouldn't eat, miserable, etc. but since it has fallen out she is happy as can be. no pain despite the fluid.

- no cough, runny nose, or anything illness wise

-she is sleeping quite well. long naps and sleeping well into the morning.

- despite still being very very clingy to me, in general she is very happy, talking a TON (just turned 2 so the language is exploding). very expressive.

- she is having one BM a day and now it is dark brown, showing some constipation.

- despite being happy, she is very moody, and if she does not get her way will melt down and cry for long periods.

- she has a big appetite lately but is craving carbs and sugar. not eating nearly as much meat as she used to.

- she is very thirsty.

Lycopodium 6C

Dissolve 2 pills in 3 teaspoons water, stir using a spoon and give it to her to drink. Do this ONCE everyday for 3 days and update me.

PS: The only mistake you made was to put her on 8 days antibiotics course with no benefits whatsover.

Zady, I couldn't agree with you more about those darn antibiotics which were worthless not only to her but everyone in my family--as they all got strep a second time within days of discontinuing treatment! We did not treat with antibiotics the second time. That is why I am trying to wait patiently for her body to heal her ear without antibiotic intervention.

so, the lyco will hopefully help with the ear issue?

And also, for future reference, can homeopathics be used in place of antibiotics to heal? That is one part I am not clear on.
thanks!

Ear - Yes. Which year exactly and what's the fluid like - color/type, etc?

Yes to 2nd ques.

Zany, here are the developments on her ear.

Last night she went to bed fine. This morning the cartladge above the earlobe, the hard part attached to love was three times its size and fire engine red. It looks infected, perhaps from the infected drainage leaving her ear. It does not hurt at all but it looks terrible.

The fluid leaving her ear is the col

melissafox22 last decade
Sorry. It's the color of earwax but is runnier.

melissafox22 last decade
Which ear exactly - left ear or right ear, or both?

What is the color of liquid coming out of the ear? White, yellow, green, etc.

What is the emotional state of child?

How is her thirst?

Any fever?

Zady101 last decade
Zany it is her left ear. The fluid that is coming out is mostly yellowish/Orange but with a tinge of white. We are seeing an ear nose and throat specialist tomorrow about her red and inflamed ear cartilage. It looks very bad and swollen but there is minimal to no pain. She is eating and drinking well. No change there. She has no fever. But the swollen/ red ear cartilage is really worrying me. Doctor said if she develops fever we need to get medical care ASAP. Also she does not want us anywhere near that ear obviously.

I forgot to mention she is extremely moody. Crying at the drop of a hat. Wants me to hold her constantly.

My daughter had similar symptoms as a baby - got completely cured with homeopathy. My baby used to rip her face till it bled as she had eczema when she was a few months old. Later she developed asthma. That was before she was treated with homeopathy. The doc who gave the medicine is no longer alive, but had told me that my baby had 'Bovine tuberculosis / cow-milk allergy'. Since I am not a doctor, I will not prescribe anything here, but I will reveal the name of the one and only medicine that helped cure. It was 'Tuberculinum Bovinum', given in extremely controlled manner. Tub Bov. 30c was obtained from india (as it was not available here in the US). 3 pills per week given at the exact same time (I used to give it Sunday morning - put 3 pills in her mouth at 8.30 am when she was asleep in bed), with observation. Note that the symptoms got better before they got worse - and old symptoms emerged and dissappeared quickly - as Tub Bov 30c acts much like a vaccine. I was told to be extremely careful and to stop when she got better. Please also note that when her skin eruptions stopped, I noticed increase in congestion as the eruptions also extend to the bronchial area. So giving 3 pills a week and observing was what I was told to do. I had to stop as soon as she got better, so as not to overdose.

After she got cured completely - now she is 17 yrs old, and never had eczema repeated - till one small patch re-emerged when she was 10 years old (upon which I gave her 1 pill of Tub Bov and it dissappeared). Dr Naigam had told me that I soudl keep the bottle with me in case - for the future but to be extremely careful with it.
I will recommend that you take Maheeru's advice on this website. He is extremely qualified and has helped me through a lot, including eye injury. Email him at 'maheeru(at)rocketmail.com'

Best wishes.

Zady, I wanted to update you on the ear. We went to a pediatric ear, nose, throat specialist today and her ear was severely infected. He auctioned out a lot of white puss and said her ear was ver red and swollen. Also the infection was causing degeneration of her outer ear. He said that as much as we don't want to use antibiotics he feels it is absolutely necessary since it has been 3 weeks that she has had the infection now. As frustrated as I am I do feel that this time may actually warrant antibiotics. I wanted to see your thoughts. We had done four doses of pulsatilla at the time of the visit.

melissafox22 last decade
Your call entirely. If u decide to go along with homeopathy, my prescription will be directed at trying to finish off ear infection. Otherwise i will prescribe remedies to compliment antibiotics.

Zady
I'm not happy about it but we went on antibiotics bc of the length of time she was infected (2.5weeks) as well as severity (bad enough that her eardrum perforated and had to have puss suctioned out).

She is on omnicef. We had a follow up with her pediatrician today and it already looks better after one dose.

Her hands have really flaired. Left one especially.

She has two completely new looking patches on her legs. They are small bumps that were very itchy initially but have since calmed down.

She is sleeping great

She is eating and drinking a lot. Very happy. No pain in her ear whatsoever.

She has not had a bowel movement in 24 hours.

I am obviously dismayed that she is on antibiotics again given her former preemie status and her leaky gut and eczema. Anything that could compliment the antibiotic would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much. Truly your assistance has been life changing for us.

bnhFirst off, thank you. thank you for your time, effort, compassion, patience, and guidance. I would need to write THANK YOU a million times to sufficiently express my gratitude.

moving along:)

update:

- we are on day 6 of 10 days of antibiotics. THANKFULLY the antibiotics helped immensely this time. her pathology results came back and she indeed had GROUP STREP A in her ear. This bacteria was in her throat for weeks after the miserable failure of the first antibiotic. Her ear fluid has completely stopped.

- skin: not the best it's looked for sure. Her hands are red, rough, and inflamed. Other then the hands she has round patches on her upper thighs, and behind her knees. Her knees itch.

- mood: she really is in a good mood. YES, she is still very demanding and bossy, defiant and stubborn. These are inherent qualities. But in general her overall attitude and happiness is much higher. She is talking a ton (much advanced for a child her age of 2) she is silly and playful and very creative.

- sleep: sleep is great since getting her ear infection under control. She sleeps long and deep.

- bowel movements: she is EXTREMELLY constipated. only going once every 48 hours and it's hard and balls. color is some green, some brown.

- she appears to possibly be getting a bit of a cold. she has dried mucus in her nose that is crusty and orange.

- she does not seem to have much of an appetite, though she certainly is not refusing food. She is just eating small amounts multiple times throughout the day. Her tastes seem to be changing. not interested in meat like she usually is. very interested in carbs.

I think that is all! I'm looking forward to being done with antibiotics and continuing to heal her eczema before spring arrives (which is when her eczema has historically gotten worse).

Thanks for the kind words!

Do you want me to prescribe or wait for antibiotics course to be over? I can do either way.

Zady101 last decade
we could wait for three more days to prescribe a homeopathic. but I did want to update on her symptoms in case you think she could benefit earlier:

cold: she is on day 2 of a cold now. stuffy nose with thick but mainly clear or perhaps a bit cloudy mucus. not coughing or anything else yet--just nasal congestion.

skin: her hands are just awful looking, worse then a few days ago. very very dry, rough, red. she also still has patches around inner thighs/knees/etc.

she was more clingy today--not eating as much, not drinking as much, just a bit more moody and whiny.

slept well last night.

bowel movements are more regular but still look very constipated.

I just want to be sure we get her cold in check so as not to cause another issue with ears. and I would of course like her skin to clear up:).

Hi Zady

antibiotics have been done for 48 hours now. update:

supplements: upon stopping antibiotics I started giving her Vitamin D, Vitamin C, and a whole foods multivitamin

skin: the last few days of her antibiotics her skin was starting to really look bad--most especially her hands and her upper legs. When I started the vit. D and C it seemed to really help her hands. In fact, as I write this her hands haven't looked this clear in over a month. But Now her legs/knees are looking worse. Specifically, it's patches and circles of redness. no oozing, itching, discomfort, which is great. but definite circles and patches of red, raised.

MOOD: She is in such a better mood. It's very nice to have her not throwing fits every 20 minutes.

sleep: she is very high on the sleep needs scale currently. She is sleeping 11 hours at night and 3 hours during the day, no waking at all.

BM's: she is still constipated. round balls as her stool. today it was a mix of clay red and bright green!

appetite: her appetite hasn't been the same since her ear infection. It doesn't seem to be hindering her energy, but she is not as hungry.

thirst: she is definitely very thirsty. wants cold milk (non dairy, we give her hemp) and water and drinks a lot of it.

mucus: her cold is over but she still has crusty snot in her nose when she wakes from naps/sleep. does not seem to bother her.

thanks so much for any recommendations to help the eczema calm down...

Rhus Tox 6C

Dissolve 1 pill in 3 tablespoons water, stir a few times and drink. Do this thrice everyday for 2 days and update me.

Stirring after the pill has dissolved is very impt. You must stir every dose multiple times.

Zady101 last decade
Hi zady. Sorry for the late reply! I'm not sure if the rhus tox worked well or not. Here is her current status.

10 days off antibiotics.

Skin: hands have been really bad and red, inflamed again. But this morning they look a little bit better. Her legs though have ever so slowly been improving.

Health: she woke today with a 100 degree fever, very agitated and weepy. Had a cough that sounded like sawing wood and/or croupy that stopped completely after being up for a bit. Minimal discharge from nose that is thick and yellow. But again, upon rising her nose seemed better. You can tell in her eyes that she isn't feeling the best.

Mood: up until this morning she was quite happy in general BUT last week she had two or three major temper tantrums that lasted up to 30 minutes. Unusual for her. But besides the tantrums she has been much less moody and clingy ( until this morning). Today she is crying at the drop of a hat.

Energy: she is very tired. Despite sleeping 10 hours overnight she is yawning nonstop an hour after waking. She is sleeping 3 hours during the day.

Growth: just a note, she has visibly gained weight and height in the last month. For her this is a big deal since she is very small as a former preemie. She is not on the growth charts.

Appetite: she is not eating like she normally would which is always a tip off for me that she isn't feeling great.

Bm's: she is having normal bowel movements once or twice a day. I feel like this has improved greatly.

Hair: I keep forgetting if I have told you this but her hair is very thin, brittle and dry. We have done hair analysis and it indicates deficiency of many minerals.

Any guidance you can provide would be so appreciated!

melissafox22 last decade
Please give her Pulsatilla 6C, same way as before, three times a day for 2 days and update.

Zady101 last decade
Hello zady, here is an update.

Cold: Happy to report that her cold is nearly gone! Nasal congestion gone. No fever. Only a slight cough that only occurs upon rising from sleep both in morning and nap. It's dry and very raspy, like sawing wood. But the cough is diminishing. So happy for this.

Skin: well it's not looking good. Her history so far has been that eczema gets much worse in spring, summer, fall. Yesterday and today were the first two nice days in 4 months ( 70 degrees instead of 10 degrees) and her eczema is much worse. Her hands are covered and are very dry, itchy, bright red and cracked. She is getting patches behind her knees and on ankles. I am very nervous about this. Her dad had terrible seasonal outdoor allergies and eczema growing up so I'm hoping we can find the remedy to help her.

Appetite: she is eating well. Craving dry and salty. Not wanting meals and wants to snack instead

Thirst: thirsty for water.

Mood: she has been in a good mood despite being itchy. She is not being clingy anymore. She is generally very happy.

Bm's: her bowels are more regular and soft.

Sleep: she continues to want to sleep long and deep.

Thanks for all the months of help. Wow you are great. I pray and hope this spring we can break the pattern of eczema. Thank you!!!!!!!!

melissafox22 last decade
zady, in addition to the post above with update I wanted to let you know that she awoke today with that cough really bad. Again, she didn't cough at all overnight, but the minute she awakes the cough starts. It sounds like sawing wood. very raspy and I think dry no nasal discharge still. eating normal still etc. everything else is the same in the post above.

thanks!
