However, Mr. De Livera won't care about all those symptoms - he doesn't use symptoms to make a prescription. He gives the same remedy to everyone based on the name of their pathological diagnosis (or his diagnosis for what that is worth). He doesn't treat mental symptoms at all.

If you want Nat-phos or Nux-vomica for GERD, Arsenicum for asthma, or Eupatorum perf for the flu or hayfever, then you could ask for his advice. For anything else he will tell you that you are incurable, or that there is no treatment you can take.

I have read hundreds of posts on his site. That is what he tells them more often than not. I went through his site quite carefully looking for the cures he claims to make (thousands of them) - he can be quite cruel to people there. Very cruel at times.

I have only prescribed one remedy for you. You cannot judge the successfulness of my approach on the basis of one prescription. Many of my patients in my own clinic may not respond to the first remedy, but the second or third prescription will be much more successful. I made a second prescription and there has been no feedback from you. You can look at the other cases I am managing here - in the initial stages of treatment it there can be a number of false starts, until enough information is gathered, until the patient has given me the clues I need, until we have sorted out miasm and any obstacles to cure. I make mistakes of course, as all homoeopaths do - but the real skill of a homoeopath comes in analysing even those mistakes and finding a better solution.

Homoeopaths don't always give the best remedy every time first time - there are lots of reasons why that doesn't happen, some related to the patient some related to the practitioner. I keep working on cases though until I understand them thoroughly enough to get a good remedy. If I cannot do that I will refer them on to someone who can. In the end, the important thing is to make sure someone can handle the case, if you (the homoeopath) cannot.

Reporting back is helpful - if the second prescription of Silicea did not do anything positive, I can continue looking for a better remedy. I don't want to pressure you either way, just say to you that it is not unusual for first prescription to not do what we expect. Much like counselling, we get to know our patients the more we treat them, which helps us to make better choices.

Regardless of that, I have tried to point out if you are interested in getting those symptoms dealt with, Joe will be both unable and unwilling to do so, as he does not have the knowledge and skill to use mental symptoms. He only knows a small handful of remedies, and only uses them in an extremely limited way - definitely not by looking at mental and emotional symptoms. He just prescribes on the basis of the name of your pathology, and only a few of those.
