croup cough-2 1/2 year old

HI my 2 1/2 year old has had the following pattern since Thanksgiving: runny nose and croup cough (which makes him throw up at times) that lasts about 2 weeks. Then he is clear for 2 weeks and then gets it again.

He was on antibiotics a month ago cuz he had the croup cough and also an ear infection.

Now it is the 3rd time since Thanksgiving that he is sick again with the croup like cough and nonstop runny nose...we have tried medhdorinin (Im not spelling it correctly) but it's not working...please help...
