tinnitus
I have tinnitus, which is a constant ringing in my ears. It never stops. I have diminished hearing also. I am 64 years old and was a firefighter for 27 years before my retirement. I suspect the sirens, air horns, and loud fire engines helped with the hearing loss but I dont know about the ringing. anyone have any good remedies??thanks..hoot214 on 2007-01-24

Dear hoot, china would really only help if the problems were related to a loss of bodily fluids, so it is not suprising this did not help.
I would say the constant loud noises you have been exposed to throughout your career as a firefighter would be a safe bet as the cause, as you rightly point out.
Have you had any tests performed to see if there is any actual physical damage to the eardrum? This will greatly influence which remedies may be indicated.
