Hematoma

I took a bad fall off my bike last July -- landed on the grass on my right hip. There was severe bruising from my knee to my waist - lasted a few weeks. Then, the only thing that has remained -- almost 7 months now -- is a hematoma on my right hip. I had 10 ounces of fluid/blood drained on Oct. 17, then another 5 oz on Dec. 6. It's still there. I don't have a fracture because I play tennis 3 times a week and walk a mile 5 times weekly.
What should I do?

Hi,
The best remedy for traumas is ARNICA MONTANA.
You can take ARNICA MONTANA 30 CH, three pellets twice a day, and put on your hematoma any arnica gel like TRAUMEEL or another similar.
Usually it relieve the inflamation and the hematoma.
Good luck

Dr.Amdres has selected the best remedy but I would like to suggest the following two remedies Once in between which will help you very soon.
1. Ledam Paul 200 1 Doze
2. Clendorla 200 1 doze
as complementry medicines

Dear Dr. Mahfooz:
You're right. I'm agree.
Ledum Palustre is very very important to solve equimosis and hematomas.
About Clendorla -sorry I don't know by this name- perhaps is Calendula Officinales. And is too very important as antiseptic in opened hurts.
Very thanks for your collaboration, Dr. Mahfooz.
Best regards

I have been taking Arnica Montana 30X, 4 capsules, twice a day, for one week; plus, I've rubbed on Traumeel cream (containing Calendula officinalis 1X, Hamamelis virginiana 1X, Arnica montana (radix 3X, Aconitum nanellus 3X, Belladonna 3X, Bellis perennis 1X, et.al.
I have seen no change in this large lump on my hip. It is about 4 inches wide by 3 inches long and maybe an inch high. I am worried that there may be blood clots or some reason why my body is not absorbing this fluid & blood.

Dear Pervasive:
When you have an hematoma from a certain time (it's not a 'fresh' hematoma), may be neccessary to spend more time. It's difficult to make it dissapears in a week only. You should continue with this treatment, and if there is not any perceptible change in your hip, you can use Ledum Palustre, but it's only makes dissapear your clots and the equimosis, but perhaps not the lump.
Please, be patient
Best wishes
Andrés

Dear Andres,
Thanks...I'll try to be patient. It just seems like I've had this for so long (7 months) and it's hard to be patient and not worry that it's something much more serious. But, I'll keep trying the Arnica. (I'm leaving for Hawaii in two weeks on vacation -- wanted to wear a swim suit and not have that big lump!)
Thanks again,
Pervasive

I started using the Arnica gel on my hematoma Feb. 1 and continuted twice a day until the end of April. There has been NO CHANGE in the size, nor is it any softer. Then, I began trying warm castor oil packs but after 3 weeks of that, NO
CHANGE. I asked a U.S. doctor what he thought, and of course he suggested surgery to 'clean out the calcified deposits around the hematoma.' He didn't even do an x-ray to see if there was any calcification.
I was going to try a liver cleanse, because I thought maybe getting the toxins out of my body would help get the lymph system working to get this thing out of me!
Do you have any further suggestions?

Dear Pervasive:
I'm desolated about your evolution. I thought you were in Hawaii, resting and smiling while we working hard with the health.
As I said, if your hemathoma was not 'fresh', the solution may be difficult. When Arnica and Ledum don't work properly, may be a case for the surgery.
But, please, I'll revise my books and, as soon as possible, I'll try to give you a better answer.
Warmest regards
Andrés

Dear Andres,
Thanks for getting back to me. I was only in Hawaii for 10 days. I guess I'll have to think about having the surgery, because nothing else has worked. Will let you know how it is resolved.

Dear Pervasive:
I have been revised the homeopathic literature and, if you are ready, we can try with another remedies.
In my homeopathic literature I have found CONIUM (it's used to diminished the hardness and the bump) and SULPHURICUM ACIDUM (used too when Arnica and Ledum doesn't work). Please, try both of them in 15c potency. You can take three pellets of one in the morning, and three pellets of the another one in the evening.
Try for 15 days and report at the end of each week to value your progress.
If these remedies don't work properly, then I have no solution. Perhaps another homeopathic Dr. in this forum can.
Warmest regards
Andrés

Dear Pervasive,
How are you? With hematoma or without? You've made a promise to report about your resultates, but you've dissapeared. I'm looking for your answer and hoping you've smashed that hematoma of.

Dear Mamytukas,
Wow...two years later and you are still wondering about me! Thanks for your sincere concern. Actually, my hematoma is still there. I've decided not to have surgery to remove it. It seems that the area has calcified and the fluid in the hematoma cannot be reabsorbed into my body. So, I guess I'll just have to live with a lump on my hip. But, thanks for asking.

Dear Pervasive,
I found this thread while searching for 'hip hematoma'.
I have experienced the exact same situation as you. My mountain bike crash happened two weeks ago and I have a huge bump on my hip. The enormous black and blue color peaked out a week after the impact, yet the hematoma shows no sign of reduction.
I had a CAT scan today that revealed blood pooling up to the middle of my back and down my thigh. Scary, because I would've not known it without a follow up to my doctor. Your description of calcified matter in the hematoma scares me a great deal, especially since you are experiencing this for over two years!!!
If I can get this eliminated through surgery soon, I will.
Thank you for posting your progress and results here where someone like myself can see into the future.
I hope your situation is not giving you complications and everything is OK.
My hematoma is the size of a buttered roll attached to my side and I can't stand it. I have no bone damage and like yourself, continue with many activites. I will print and show your posts to my doctor
Good Luck!

Dear AirRider,
Love the name! It has been 4 years (slmost to the date) since my fall and I still have that hematoma. I had an MRI two years ago which showed that there was fluid trapped behind the calcification, but I decided not to have the surgery. I didn't want to go the 'invasive' route if it wasn't 'medically necessary.' My doctor said it would be 'cosmetic surgery only.' It's aggravating to have that thing showing under my pants/dresses, but it's only noticeable if you know what you're looking for. It's very noticeable in a swim suit, but I just don't want to go the surgery route. Please let me know what your doctor says. I'm going to a NEW doctor in September, for some other reasons. Will ask him his opinion.

Dear Dr. Andres and Dr. Mahfooz,

I have 5 days old hematoma under (lower leg) and above my knee. Doctor says that due to severe leg injury there is blood and fliud around my knee, under it (lower leg) and above it.

As I have read in this tread i can use Arnica Montana, Calendula Officinales and Ledum Palustre. If I'm right, can you kindly confirm how exactly shall i take them - Dosage and Potency?
Thank you in advance!

Please take three doses of Arnica 200 as follows and see how that affects in next 15 days (only 3 doses in 15 days).

day 1 morning
1st dose

day 1 evening
2nd dose

day 2 morning
3rd dose

One dose means
If the medicine is in pills form 2 pills. Don't touch pills with hand. Use cap of bottle to take pills.
If the medicine is in liquid dilution form, 2 drops in some 20 ml water. Sip up slowly.

Please follow homeo restrictions like no coffee, no raw onion/garlic, no strong perfumes, don't eat or drink anything within 30 minutes before or after taking medicine.

If this doesn't help take Ledum 200 in the same way and report back after another 15 days.

Thanks for your reply, kadwa!
Did I get you wright - just 3 doses (meaning 3*2=6 pills) in 15 days or repeat the scheme you provided every 3 days for 5 times (actually during 15 days)?
Also, sorry for my tardiness, but I forgot to say that i have a number of wounds on the injured leg. There is still blood/fluid coming out of those wounds.
Also, my leg aches me a lot and it became bigger that usual (lump).
Thanks!

In your case please take the remedy Arnica 200 in the morning and evening for 7 days and report back. It is to be taken daily.

kadwa last decade
Dear Kadwa,
I was taking Arnica 200 as per your prescription below for 7 days.

Currently my open wounds got slighly better (no blood/fluid coming out of them), but i still cannot bend my knee properly. I walk with a hobble.

Hemathoma is much less now, but it's still there.

I had 5 ounces of fluid/blood drained out of Hemathoma just above my knee.

Ultrasound investigation of my knee is not possible yet due to not recovered wounds.

X-Ray shows no fractures.

Please kindly advise

Thanks!

Please take Strontia Carb 200 (Strontium Carbonicum 200) in the morning and evening for 3 days. You may continue it once a day later on need.
