Hello Dr.Mahfooz,
Thanks for responding. I have had hypertension since 1968. Three years ago a specialist hypertension clinic at our local hospital put me onto Astorvastatin, Cozar Comp and Losartin. That combination brought my BP down from a continous 150/95 down to 137/90 but my GP feels I can lower that a bit more. I dont want to be overloaded with chemicals so I wondered if there was an alternative medicine I could take in tandem with conventional medicine. I eat a healthy diet of pulses/fruit/veg. No cakes/biscuits or sweets and I walk 2 miles every single day come rain or shine. I sleep well and I feel terrific so why is my BP high? I am post menopausal, have some fat around my tummy area but not in a noticeable way. I am very uncomfortable in extreme heat and get oedema so I drink as much water as I can stand. My mother died aged 60 of a heart attack and my father aged 75 from emphysema and Parkinsons. I will be 67 in Sept and I know I look and act 10 years younger. I work as a journalist and I enjoy gardening and handicrafts so life isnt that stressful.
