Peripheral Neuropathy

I have burning, numbness, poor sensation and pain in my feet. Condition is say 10 years old, but has increased since 2001 (when I retired. Now I am of 73 years)

1&2) Burning & numbness are as if I have a sock of Burning & numbness in my feet & up to above the ankles. It is there all the time.

3) Poor sensation: I may come out of the bathroom with my feet dried. Still, on walking on the dry floor, I feel that my feet are wet. Only a touch by hand checks the real thing.

I go to sleep without socks, but many times, I feel that I forgot to remove the socks. Actual touching the feet proves the truth.

4) Pain is mostly in the fingers of the feet (probably in the joints)and the front of the soles and rear part of the heels.

My Neurologist says that I have damaged nerve. I was given Neuronton 300mg-- I had to take 9 capsules per day --These helped - probably temporary help-- as long as I took. But I stopped these. He also said that nerve damage cannot be repaired, and I may be walking with crutches as I grow older

My blood test some times showed a spike of Monoclonal protein. Dr. got Pathology done for bone marrow. Nothing adverse was found, but he wants to keep an eye.

I have tendency to grow Nose Polyps. Due to these and nasal mucous flow into my lungs, I developed Bronchial Asthema. Sinuses were cleaned in 1990 and for maintenance I am taking Advair inhaler and Flonase nasal spray every day. With these, I do not have any problem with my nose, lungs and Asthema.

I am a Male,73 years old, from India, relatively fair in color and have reasonably good health. I do some pranayam and yogic stetches in the morning. I walk, almost every day, about 2 miles. Rest of the time(after retirement) I work on the computer, sitting in a room.
