Overactive bladder

Hi All.

It's my first post here. I have been researching net for ayurvedic and homeopathic meds for overactive bladder. My problem is frequency of going to toilet. I am on heavy meds which have severe side effects and I want to find best natural remedy if possible.

So what might be the best remedy for my overactive bladder (I don't have pain or leakage, just the frequency of going and when I am done, few mins later I get this urge again althought the bladder is empty but if I gave in, I can pee again anyway)???

All advices, experience shared, ideas are more than welcome because my life is basicly in toilet.

Thanks.

1. I like warm weather, more colder than hot, Hmm I like both open airy and cozy rooms, at the moment I am more for cozy rooms.

2.Hmm it's always hard to describe myself, I am kind, loving, content, very friendly, but also stubborn, I am analytical, spiritual seeker, worry a lot etc.

3.In general my bladder makes most problems, I also have skin condition called seboreic dermatitis, time to time problems with my stomach, digestion, but in general bladder is my biggest issue.

4. My thirst is normal, I try to drink a lot of water, around 1,5 l per day.

5. Nope, so far in general no itching or burning, just that I need ages to finish, after main urine is passed, small drops are coming and it takes long to finish.

6. Most frequent is day, sometimes most in morning, but it can vary sometimes also at evenings...but if you ask strictly between day and night, then its day.

7. My periods are regular and normal although they got light probably due to side effects of meds I take.

8. I respond well, I wish I would get it more since people in general don't take me serious with this problem.

9. I am in a relationship yes, we are good so far, he is supportive.

Dear Lyorion,
First of all,get ur urine and serum checked up for diabetes.Sometimes Lab reports help to confirm a problem.Diagnoses should be the first step where ever organic problems
are involved.

As you say all your diagnostics reports are OK, you should try 'Water Therapy' You can search :'Water Therapy' under Google for details. However for your convenience I summerise the same as below:

.1.5 ltr of water as first
thing in the morning even
before brushing your teeth.

.1/2 an hour rest.Resume
normal activities after
1/2 hour

.no intake of fluids or
solids whatsoever for 1 hr
after consuming water.

.water therapy not be be resorted to if alcohal has been consumed the previous night.

.Apart from this 1.5 lt of water as first thing in the morning pls make a target to take another 1to1.5 lt of water during rest of the day.
.Pls further ensure not to take water alongwith the meals. Same can be taken before and/or after 1 hour of taking meals and at anyother time as per one's comfort.
. Colas/coffee may be avoided.

Pls try and feel the difference. Most of the diseases will get washed away from our body and onset of diseases in future will be be kept at bay.

Hi

I am 28/F - unmarried.
I have a problem with uncontrolled urine. So I have undergone many tests. I have taken ultrasound-whole abdomen test. ?In this report the folowing is mentioned.

UTERUS : Evidence of small heterogeneous area measuring 13 X 16 mm noted in mthe anterior myometrium at the fundus and body junction.

Uterus measures : 77X33X54 mm
combined endometrial thickness is 7 mm

Impression : small fibroid in the anterior wall of uterus

I have consulted Gyncoloogist , she said there is no problem with this (as this is very small ). but i have a doubt that the problem which i am facing (uncontrolled urine passing ) is becoz of this .

Please do clarify

Thanks In Advance

I am a 69-yrs old male with BPH and retention at 65% level (determined through ultrasound). I have a frequent urination throughout day and night with a quick and continuing reaction to any liquid intake. So far I have no leakage, but the process is painful. There are web sites offering CURES for overactive bladders, but they do not explain which cases they are addressing and I presume that that applies mostly to females with infections. Would you have a suggestion that would fit my case?

I realize this thread is from several years ago, but does anyone have other advice? I have the EXACT same symptoms as the original poster (constant urge to urinate, but no leakage or control problems). I've had all sorts of tests done and everything comes up normal. Have even tried hypnotherapy..nothing has worked. Any more suggestions?

walbert,

Please take three doses of Nux Vomica 200 as follows and see how that affects in next 15 days (only 3 doses in 15 days).

day 1 morning
1st dose

day 1 evening
2nd dose

day 2 morning
3rd dose

One dose means
If the medicine is in pills form 2 pills. Don't touch pills with hand. Use cap of bottle to take pills.
If the medicine is in liquid dilution form, 2 drops in some 20 ml water. Sip up slowly.

Please follow homeo restrictions like no coffee, no raw onion/garlic, no strong perfumes, don't eat or drink anything within 30 minutes before or after taking medicine.

OK, I finally got ahold of the Nux Vomica 200. Took the first dose this morning. Are you sure about only three doses? The pills (granules) are pretty small. Thanks.

walbert last decade
Only three doses are sufficient to provide the right stimulation. Please report back after 15 days.

kadwa last decade
Right-o. Took the doses, will report back in a fortnight. Thanks for your help.

walbert last decade
Well, it hasn't been exactly 15 days yet, but I've had no reaction whatsoever to the Nux Vomica. Any other suggestions?

Right, here's the info:

Patient ID: Sex: Age: M/26

1. Describe your main suffering?

Urge to urinate more or less constantly. At best I will have around 30 minutes of relative comfort after urinating. I have no incontinence issues (i.e. I have no problems of controlling my bladder), only a constant feeling as though my bladder is full, when it is not. I also have no problems passing urine; were I to urinate 5 minutes after urination, I would probably be able to pass something. A urologist has told me that the problem is likely to be a neuron that is overfiring, making my brain constantly but erroneously believe my bladder to be full.

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?

None.

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?

Naturally it is excruciating to never have any comfort in one’s bladder. I have trouble concentrating on any activity, and am much less likely to go anywhere where I don’t have to go, on account of discomfort.

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst?

The urge to urinate. It might not sound awful, but imagine having that feeling constantly for 23 weeks.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?

Early September 2012. No.

6. Which time of the day you are worst?

It’s more or less the same throughout the day, although I would venture to say that the evening is worse than the morning.

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same?

I have not had success with affecting my symptom with any substance whatsoever. I’ve tried a litany of medications, as well as Nux Vomica, hypnotherapy, and hydrotherapy (drinking 1.5 liters of water in the morning). I try to hold off urination as long as I can, and the better respites seem to come after having held it for a longer period of time. But 30 minutes is the absolute maximum of relative comfort, no matter how long I’d held it.

8. Do you think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?

No.

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?

I’ve not noticed any difference.
10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.

I’m mild, extremely patient, pensive, optimistic.

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm?

I love thunderstorms. I also love rain and cloudy weather. I genuinely prefer that sort of weather to sunny weather; I find sunny weather to be a bit depressing.

- Do you like being consoled during your tough times?

I suppose so but I don’t feel strongly about that. (I’m more likely to console than be consoled).

- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc?

All of my 5 senses are intact. Doctors have told me that my nervous system is quite sensitive. I had a procedure done (a trial procedure to treat this problem of mine) which involved electronic pulses. I wore a battery that controlled the strength of the pulses, and was told to turn up the strength until I could feel the pulse. I felt it at level 0.5/10, which one of the medical assistants commented was “extremely sensitive.”

- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
weeping, talking to one self etc?

I’m a drummer so I have a lot of rhythms in my head. When I’m alone I drum on things.

- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife?

I have a lot of friends all over the world, and I wish I could see them more. But at the same time I couldn’t be more pleased with who they are. I’m not terribly close with my family, although we’re on very good terms (mother, father, older sister, older brother). I’m not married but I have a girlfriend whom I am extremely fond of.

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly?

I have conversation anxiety, meaning that I’m always afraid of running out of things to say, and of being boring. No to the repeated dreams.

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions?

I like a good, well-made sandwich. Pizza, pasta, chocolate… most things. I really can’t stand raw tomatoes, and I’m not a big fan of seafood (except salmon) or olives or eggplant.

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive?

Normal.

14. How if your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive?

Normal.

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand?

Not that I can think of. I hate the taste of raw tomatoes but I eat them from time to time and I get no complaints but those from my taste buds.

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs?

Very nice tree imagery in the question. The answer is Normal.

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type?

Normal (i.e. once a day).

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping?

I have no trouble sleeping, except having to wake up to empty my bladder. It’s been harder to fall asleep with this bladder affliction. I also dislike going to bed, for no other reason than I really like being awake and doing things. I always sleep on my side.

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general?

Yes.

20. How do you think you are different from others, if at all?

I suppose I own more plain-colored t-shirts than the average person does.

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication?

There are too many to list. I tried 2 or 3 different antibiotics, and 4 or 5 different medications that are supposed to treat the symptom (most of those are aimed at drying you up from the inside out). Then I tried another one whose angle of attack I forget. I had that procedure with the electronic pulses. I tried hypnotherapy and then Nux Vomica and hydrotherapy. Nothing has made any perceptible difference whatsoever, better or worse.

22. What major diseases are running in your family?

Some heart disease, some cancr.

23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance

6’, 160 lbs., medium-length brown hair.

Please take a single dose of Carcinosin 200C and see how that affects in 15 days. Only one dose, not daily. This is a can-cer nosode but it doesn't contain a single molecule of any harmful stuff. The remedy is expected to help you overall. Other instructions on dosing remain same.

Hi
I suffer from OAB but sometimes not always. Most when I'm out and think about toilet.
It started with urine infection when I was 23 and it lasted (cause inappropriate cure) until now (10 years almost).
I'm female, 33, have had constipation since childhood (now it's ok) but I have urge in defecation in morning too and I may defecate once in two days (sometimes).
I drink water less than 1 lt every day and run around 2 to 3 times a week.
I did all tests and nothing found.
Any advice?
Thanks for your help
