Seeking to prevent root canal

I just had a deep cavity filled 3 days ago and the dentist said I might need a root canal in the future. What can I take to prevent any infections or further decay in the tooth? I do not want root canal!!!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Answer the following:
1- For how long you have this problem?
2- Do you have black lines on your teeth?
3- From where the decay in teeth starts(root or crown)?

Dr Tahira, my nephew has a similar problem. He had bad teeth for years. Black lines on bottom of teeth (next to gum line). Decay starts at root.

I must have had decay in my tooth for a few months because I had a crack in my filling. The decay spread to near the nerve. I do get black lines on my some of my teeth, near the gumline. I've had these lines for about two years. They come off with a cleaning at the dentist.

Carol,
Staphy sag 200 once a week for three weeks.I think you are deficient at Calcium Flouride. In order to make the roots strong,i hope the following schedule will help:

1- Calc phos 6x
2- Calc flour 6x

Two tablets each twice a day for two weeks.Start this schedule after completing Staphy dosage.
