Enlarged Adenoids - Dosage Page 2 of 2

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
We have gone through similar things with my son and I now believe he has leaky gut syndrome. You may want to look this up. Also, if you do allergy testing, make sure it is IGG and IGE. One is delayed and one is immediate. Most doctors will not tell you about both. I was shocked when we received my son's results! When we follow the proper diet though, my son does improve and the sleep apnea due to adenoid enlargement is gone. The allergies, eczema, adenoids, etc. can all be related to leaky gut. Also, be careful about the echincea. From everything I have read and heard, some echincea stimulates not strengthens the immune system and allergies are an overactive immune system already. Hope you find this useful in some way. I know I have felt, for a long time, like I don't know what to do and I just keep trying things and the doctors just want to treat the symptoms, not the real root of the problem. Good luck!

i think that the eczama was the very first sign of there being a problem. often we don't relate them together especially if they happened a few weeks apart. if ou can think back to that time it may help. what were you doing, any new places you visted ect.
i think it is allergy related and if you find the figure out what caused it you will be out of the woods/ also check out this website/ i use it and it works

leaky gut syndrome sounds like a defective immune system to me. we have to remember everything our bodies are asaulted with every day. from polution outside to what we put in and on our bodies. just about everything you buy at walmart or your local store is full of chemicals that we were not ment to be ingesting, digesting, inhaling ect. there are organic things thta are easy to get and healthy for us. i believe that is the first thing to look at then we can move on to finding a remedy that will aid us.

Hi Rana,

I red about IGG and IGE tests. We will get him tested soon as everything points to allergies and complications of. He may very well have leaky gut. Probiotics are recommended for this and we give him yogurt but yogurt is made of milk so it may be helping on one hand and harming on the other. I think if we bring his immune system up as a whole he may be able to overcome the allergies.

i agree 100% with you gentlehawk! you can get probiotics at the health food store that comes in a powder form. you mix it in juice or water. if he likes yougurt they do have soy yogurt and you could mix the probiotic in with it. btw milk is good if you can get raw milk. i don't know what state you live in i think california is the only legal state you can get it in. raw milk is so beneficial and doctors and the fda lead you to believe it is not so. anyway just a thought. raw milk just has all the natural probiotics and vitamins and enzymes and all the kids and adults i know that drink it are thriving!
best of luck

Hi. I am the person with the child with many allergies and thinking we are dealing with leaky gut. About the probiotics, just wanted to let you know I was giving my little boy powder probiotics for a little while and then realized that it is milk based, which he is allergic to. I ended up finding an adult version that is vegetable based but no corn. Also, most of the chewable vitamins are corn or soy based and those are common allergens. It is very time consuming and difficult but we are trying to check everything down to toothpaste. Our big key was the allergy testing to have something concrete to go on and we have seen a huge difference. Also, check out body ecology. The website talks of leaky gut and coconut keifer, which friends of mine use and love. We used it for a short time and then just got out of the pattern and now need to go back (I don't think I gave it long enough and I did the keifer with a milk base). I did just e-mail them, though, to ask what exactly the ingredients of the starter packet are and am waiting for a response. Hope this helps. I am still trying to figure it all out myself.

I received the Agrap Nut and Cal Phos and gave him Agrap Nut for one day and followed with Calc Phos the next day - only for that one day-

Should I give him both Agrap and Calc Phos at the same time.

One thing I noticed -if it is not related to other medicines he is taking- is that since he started taking the Calc Phos he is MORE hyperactive, someone had said Calc Phos helps with hyperactivity but is it Ok to see a negative result or will this eventually go away before he calms down?

Thanks

gentlehawk last decade
Two remedies should not be given together. It is against the basic principles of homeopathy. So you should now just wait for the response to Calc-p.

The increase in hyperactivity from Calc-Phos might be an aggravation, stop the remedy now and wait for improvements.

If the remedy is correct such an aggravation will be followed by improvements.

if you buy your keifer grains or get them from a friend who will share it is cheapest. the body ecology is a started packet which i think you can only use so often then you have to buy more. but if you buy your grains you will hve them forever as long as you take care of them right. yoou have diffrent grains for kdifer water like cocnut keifer and diffrent grains for milk keifer,

Sameer,
how lond should I wait to see any improvements on my child's behavior? I stopped the Calc Phos and Agrap Nut two days ago. He seems a bit better now but I have to also mention that we just discovered that he was/is teething at the time he was very hyper / aggrevated. So I do not know if the hyperactivity was as a result of Calc-Phos or just teething.
His snoring has been greatly reduced but I do not know if this is due to the streoid nasal spray or due to homeopathy. At this point I cannot say either positive or negative things about the homeopathic medicines. He still wakes up two-three times at night and wants to sleep with us, we send him back to his room and he sleeps, though aggrevated.

One thing that I was hoping to see homeopathy (especially Calc-Phos) help is the hyperactivity , irritation and poor appetite. IF I see any improvements on these I will definetely say homeopathy works.

One thing I now know that homeopathic doctors want to know is the fears of patient. I did not know this when I first posted. I know that my son is afraid of loud noise, such as vacuum cleaner, food mixer, blender. He is terrified and wants to be held until the noise is gone. This has been the way since he was born.
He also does not like to be covered during sleep though this has now improved, before he would not let the blanket on him for more than few minutes. Now he is better. I hope this information helps.

He is due to see his doctor again in several weeks to see if there is any improvement on the adenoids.

Thanks

Gentlehawk,

I must say that the two remedies you have in mind are not the only ones which can help your child. In fact, by restricting yourself to just 2 remedies, you are giving yourself a great handicap.

Symptoms like asthma , enlarged adenoids, hyperactivity, poor appetite, and fear of noises can be covered by many medicines but ONLY the right one will help your child in a gentle and permanent way.

The fact that he does not want to sleep with you, and does not like being covered up helps, but I (or any classical prescriber) would need to know a lot more details, than the just these symptoms to come up with the correct remedy.

When did you give him Calc-p and how many doses ?

Sameer

Hi Sameer,

I mentioned once before that I am open to new ideas and new medicine.
I gave him Calc- Phos on Sat night one dose and three more doses on Sunday and stopped. I have not given him anything since then.
Thanks

Thanks

Hi gentlehawk,

I will go over your son's case in a day or so. I have been keeping very busy with other commitments.

I will get to this shortly.

Sameer.

Hi gentlehawk. The hyperactivity should be helped tremendously when the sleeping problems - probably due to enlarged adenoids and possibly sleep apnea. If it is sleep apnea, I have been told by our doctor, that many children are being misdiagnosed with ADHD when it is actually the sleep apnea and lack of deep sleep that causes the same behaviors. We have gone on a very restricted diet, due to diagnosed allergies and his behavior is so much better, his teachers (and family) cannot believe it. It was rough at first but now he knows what he can have instead of something and I believe he knows he feels better when sticking to it. He still has enlarged adenoids, but I am hoping they go down with time. I just started him on bioplasma today to see if that would help as well. When is the poor appetite? If it is at dinner time, nux vomica may help. If it is all the time, again, I would look into allergies. The doctors state that with an allergy, the person will either crave or hate the food. Just a thought.
Hope this helps a little. Hang in there.

Hi Gentlehawk,

Some questions:

1./) How sympathetic is your son ?

2./) Does he sweat a lot ? If yes, on which body part ?

3./) Does he have a craving for something in food or drink ?

4./) How selfish or generous is he ?

5./) How does he react to thunderstorms ?

6./) How is his confidence level ? How is his intelligence level ?

7./) How outgoing is he ?

8./) Is he lazy ?

Sameer.

sameervermani last decade
1) He is very outgoing. he enjoys being around other kids , likes to play with them. Other kids seem to enjoy his company as well.
2) He does not sweat a lot
3) He has poor appetite, it is very rare he wants something from us, we need to remind him of food. He does not like solid food , prefers soft foods. He does not eat fresh fruits or vegetables unless they are mashed. He is Ok with things that are easy to chew like cheese, bread, cookies. However he still does not eat bananas -even though bananas are soft- unless I put nutella on banana slices.
4) He is neither selfish nor too generous . I'd say he is Ok for a 2,5 years old. Sometimes he is upset if his toy is taken from him, other times he will share his food with us.
5) He is and has been afraid of loud noises. He does not have a particular reaction to thunderstorms unless they are too loud. He is very afraid of vacuum cleaner and food processor.
6) He is confident. He is not shy at all. His verbal skills are fair. We have friends who have sons at similar ages and they are more verbal and they seem to understand more of what is said. Having said that I do not think my son has lack of intelligence. His memory is very good, recognizing of objects is excellent, I think he wants to say a lot of things but cannot communicate/articulate well. I believe his hyperactivity and lack of focus slows his verbal skills.
8) He is not lazy at all. He wants to play all the time, if we had the time as parent he would play with us all day long I guess. It is hard to seat him, which is a problem especially when we are visiting friends or on a long trip.

Okay , how is his liking for cold drinks and how is his thirst?

Is he thin , tall ? Describe his appearance to me.

Is he very excitable ?

Can we say that he has a very open and trusting nature ?

sameervermani last decade
1) He does not have any particular interest in cold drink. He gets thirsty at night and wakes up because of that. We think this happens because he sometimes breaths through the mouth.
2) He is not thin or chubby. His weight is normal , he is taller than many of his friends of same age.
3) Yes
4) Yes he has a very open and trusting nature, he is very sociable.

Okay then,

Buy Phosphorus 6C in pellets form.

Dissolve 2 pellets (or 2 drops if you buy liquid) of Phos. 6C in a 500 ml bottle of spring water. If you leave 2 pellets in the bottle for about 20 mins , they will dossolve by themselves. Then, turn the bottle upside down gently a few times for them to shake.

One teaspoon from this bottle using a disposable spoon is 1 dose. No eating or brushing of teeth for 1 hour on either side of this dose. Give him 3 such doses for 1 day . Space the doses by 2-3 hours.

No doses after these 3. The report status in 4 days after these 3.

Sameer.

Dear Gentlehawk,

I came across this thread while I was searching for enlarged adenoid in my 2.5 year old son. Your son's case is so much like mine and so much so that he sounds sooooo much like my son too. Which medicines worked for enlarged adenoid in your son? if you can share the remedy, it will be a great help.
Thanks a ton.

Hi I came across your posting from 2008. Just wondering what remedies you tried and if anything worked for your son. My son is almost 3 and his situation is very similar to you sons. thank you

Dear Yu,

Count up 11 posts from yours and read what Sameer
posted about remedy choice. What worked for one
person will not be the same for another person.
Many things about the child have to be taken into
account to make the best remedy choice.

If you cannot take the child to a homeopath in person
(best option) you can got to forum front page and
above the first post there is a button- Post New Topic-
click that and make your own thread and someone
will help you out.

Regards,

Simone717

Fair enough Simone717. I am going to see a homeopath shortly, however i just wanted to know if the person who originally posted the link had a success resolution of the problem.

yu176238 last decade
Hopefully they will reply to you. A lot of people get treatment
and then never post back what happened on here. Feedback
is great to have.
