how to convert

I have been advised by a homeopath to use 1 to 2 drops daily- Silica tincture for a horse with Uveitis (moon blindness). I cannot find the Silica in tincture form. Do have it in pill form...how do I convert that dosage? I am new at homeopathy. But, learning.
Thanks!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Put one dose, yes one, into a drinking bottle of water with a pop top. Shake well. give time to melt, shake.

Dose is one squirt into horse's mouth.

Can I use the rest of the water/silica mixture for future dosages? Thanks again!

I am going to go on a bit about giving homeopathy. This is not directed AT anyone. I just want to write as much as possible to anticipate many questions.
____________________

This is used for short-term treatment, no longer than a week or two. Sometimes placed in rif. Shake often. If one uses the bottle low, one can just add water, no more remedy.

Or, another fresh bottle can be used, pour several spoonfulls of the first mix into the new bottle and shake. One now has a fresh, slightly increased bottle.

Of course, keep in mind that it is for the ONE person. Not a community bottle.

Good for things like bronchitis, pneumonia, asthma.

Many ask if alcohol needs to be added. No, it does not.

You see, homeopathy is made in liquid form. Then there are machines that vaguely resemble cement mixers that the dry pellets/granules are placed in and "some" liquid is added as it rotates. Then they are dried and packaged.

The potency is decided when the remedy is made in liquid form.

The dry pellets/granules have nothing to do with potency, but only "house" the remedy.

Dry remedies give more doses than an equal size bottle of liquid with a dropper

Bigger pellets the size of BBs are few in the bottle. 3 are a dose. # 10 granules, tiny, give more remedy for the money and 5-6 little balls are one dose.

One manufacturer gives about 30 big balls (pellets) in the bottle for about $8. About 10 doses. Same bottle with tiny pellets, you do the math.

Now, a lot of people are actually complaining that the "little ones are harder to take." They must be really clumsey. One holds the bottle and rolls out a tiny bit of granules...how hard is that?

Do NOT put pellets "back" into bottle if shook out too many. Contamination. Just eat them and learn how better.

By the way, this "written in stone" idea of putting the remedy in the cap and then dumping into the mouth offends me.

Why would anyone want to use a remedy after a child or adult breathes or coughs on the lid and the lid is replaced on the bottle and contaminating it????

What is wrong with the person that is actually taking the remedy placeing it into the palm and then take onto the tongue and tuck under??? Nothing is contaminated.

Ask if I missed anything.

Blessings, Sabra

By the way, take it easy with doses of silicea, even MT.

Give maybe one a day for 4 days and wait a week before another dose. Sabra

Sabra - must admit I recommend .... in the lid and in the mouth ...but I give a bottle with only enough tablets for the individual.

I hope MURTHY will read Sabra's post--we had long discussion and I said exactly the same thing as Sabra (that there is nothing wrong in taking the remedy from one's palm!)---so now there are two persons to make that crack in the fundamentals of homeopathy.

Kidding of course. But I still think it's a very good way (I'm more conservative that Sabra though and do also what passkey does: if only one person takes the remedy: cap is ok too).

Consider: If I used the lid of any and all the bottles I treat my clients, using the lid would eventually become contaminated from breath or unexpected cough.

Been doing the palm of the one treated longer than I can remember.

I know homeo medicines will work even when rubbed into a clean area of the skin. So,there should be no harm in taking them out of one's palm,as long it is clean.

I think I said so,earlier also.

Wow! Thanks for taking the time to explain all that to me! I greatly appreciate it. I think I need to learn some more about homeopathy. Considering all I know is; Bach Flower Remedies. I do give my horses the West Nile nosodes. I would sure appreciate where/how I could learn more. Thank you all so much! So then, if I want to give this rescued horse some silica for Uveitis-Moon Blindness...the homeopath said for 10 days only if no improvement discontinue-and we will go another route. If the cloudiness of the eye is showing improvement continue one month---would this be safe? Thank you!

A lot of close doses of Silicea "may" cause loose bowels. So, if this happens, you will know the cause. Then one must wait at least two wks before another dose.

My teachers taught to use Silicea only once a week. But you are using MT, this is unfamiliar usage to me, always having used potencies.

The MT is the first liquid that is carefully strained from the original basic substance. I just learned this. 6 mo. ago I didn't know.

One can always learn something. The more I know, the more I realize how much I don't know.

What's MT? The silica I bought is in the pelleted form- and it's 30 C

Thanks!

Sorry I see you answered what MT is...kinda late here and I overlooked that. Sheesh, I am overwhelmed...I sure am interested in learning homeopathy though! This is great, especially coming out of conventional meds and all their side effects...lost a horse due to side effects of bute (NSAID). Thanks!

One day a homeopath came at my clinic and said, what you gave to my patient? He responded very well witth your medicine. Please tell me that remedy.(Our most of the homeopaths are always looking for some kind of NUSKHA (ready made prescription on diseases) I never hide any thing from my colleagues and students. But when I saw that Dr. Muhammad Iqbal indicated something jolly and twisted his eye. So I thought I should play a game with that fellow doctor (Homeopath).

I said, I gave him Arg Met in mother tincture. He readily noted that prescription and left the clinic.

After two weeks, he again came to me and said, "Oh, doctor what you have written, I searched each and every homeopathic store in big cities but did not find this bottle. From where you procure that bottle for your clinic. Doctor, I also searched that remedy from materia medica. The remedy is very closed to my patient. That must be found from the store"

Dr. Iqbal and me laughed at him and said, "Doctor, we were interested to teach you a lession.

Number 1: Never search any NUSKHAJAT (Ready made prescription Hit&Try Medicines against diseases) for diseases. Homeopathy is based on sign and symptoms. This is the most simple and final rule forever.

Number 2. Whenever somebody tell you something (*about his/her observation) always verify that statement with your own common sense, knowledgea, study and practical application.

Why I said, this to all of you?

Dear Members, Arg Met does not available for prescription in the market or Pharmacies are not marketing this product for use on patients. Just like if somebody tell you, I have used Naja Q for heart enlargement and asthama and I found good result then please before using that remedy you must study first what that remedy actually is:

The same lesson was given to us by Natural Horse When he posted this "I have been advised by a homeopath to use 1 to 2 drops daily- Silica tincture for a horse with Uveitis (moon blindness). I cannot find the Silica in tincture form. Do have it in pill form...how do I convert that dosage? I am new at homeopathy. But, learning.

I hope you got my point.

I went back and read over all.

Tincture is the liquid version of homeopathy. It can be any potency.

I confused the issue myself by bringing up MT. It is the first straining of the remedy from the crude derivitive, the original substance. It has not been potentized.

Called Mother Tincture. All other liquid remedies and potencies begin from the MT.

Is this sounding like a better expaination?

Blessings, Sabra

sabra last decade
Hi Sabra,

Yes, I understand what you are saying. All begin with the MT and are diluted/shaken to create the potency? Thank you!

Pam

Despite the long note from Dr.Mas people are still confused.

All medicines are not available in mother tincture form.Substances like minerals which doesn't dissolve in water/alcohol can't be made as mother tinctures.

They have first to be titruated till 3x,(pulverisation with sugar of milk),and then only they will get dissolved in alcohol.Hannemann made his potencies of minerals and insoluble substances in this way,and till date that is the procedure.

Silica can't be made as mother tincture. The first potencies available are 6x,as far as I know.At the best, you may get 3x.Not below that.

Murthy

bandarbabu2000 last decade
Perhaps, what is being referred to as MT,are dilutions. These are potencies preserved in alcohol. They are different from mother tinctures.

What you get as pellets is sugar globules, moistened with the liquid potency.

Oh, I see, so that's what the pellets are. I wondered. Geeze, I think I need a basic- basic course. LOL

Thanks!
