Homeopathic medicines during pregnancy
About me:1. Sleep pattern and details of any recurring dreams. Regular 8 9 hours of sleep with no particular recurring dreams. One dream I can say is repeated is that I have an exam the next day and I have not prepared for it. I can say that this is the only recurring dream so far. The only thing recurring about it is the fact that there is an exam and I have not prepared for it. But the time, place and circumstances differ in each dream. I have this dream like maybe once in 3- 4 months. But this is not a definite timeline. I sometimes go a long time without having it.
2. Sensitive to (ie, heat, cold, touch, criticism, etc) - I am sensitive to criticism.
3. State of mind (fears, anxieties, attitudes, moods, etc) - I have been a little anxious about the labour pain.
4. Any desires or aversions for particular foods, and whether certain foods make you feel better or worse. - None so far.
5. Details of any major diseases suffered in past. No diseases whatsoever in the past other than the regular childhood fever, cold etc.
6. Details of any reactions to other medicines taken. None so far.
7. History of homeopathic treatment if any. I used to take some homeopathic medicine when I was in the 5th or 6th grade for dandruff. And I dont remember exactly, but I think it was Bryonia for headaches in the 10th grade for sometime. Other than that, no other homeopathic medicines.
8. All other symptoms you have (ie watering eyes, cold feet, thirst). No symptoms.
I am a 28 year old women pregnant with the my first baby. I am in my 6th month of pregnancy currently, 23 weeks tomorrow to be precise. I have a very healthy constitution and so far I have had no symptoms of pregnancy whatsoever like morning sickness, nausea, fatigue, cravings, swelling ect. The only thing I have is lower back pain which started when my pelvis and stomach started expanding. All the women in my family too are the same with no problems whatsoever during pregnancy and easy normal labour with healthy babies. But none of them ever had the backache I have. I have heard great things about homeopathy medicines especially in pregnant women and how they help to have a healthy baby. For some personal reasons I was not able to take the medicines till the end of my 5th month. The medicines I have for the duration of my pregnancy are as follows:
5th month (I started taking the medicine in the 3rd week of this month):
Sepia 30 On alternate days at bedtime for the duration of 5th month.
Ferrum Met 6 Every day morning at 10 AM till the end of 8th month.
6th month:
Sepia 30 On alternate days at bedtime for the duration of 6th month.
Ferrum Met 6 Every day morning at 10 AM till the end of 8th month.
7th month:
Ruta G 30 On alternate days at bedtime for the duration of 7th month.
Ferrum Met 6 Every day morning at 10 AM till the end of 8th month.
8th month:
Opium 30 On alternate days at bedtime for the duration of 8th month.
Ferrum Met 6 Every day morning at 10 AM till the end of 8th month.
9th to 91/2 months: Caulophyllum 30 and Cimifuga 30 on alternate days at 10 AM.
91/2 months till the appearance of labour pains: Caulophyllum 200 daily at 6 AM and Pulsatilla 6 daily at bed time.
Apart from the above drugs, during the 8th month daily at 6 AM and 6 PM, 2 tablets each of:
1)Calcarea Flour 6X
2)Calcarea Phos 6X
3)Kali Phos 6X
4)Magnesia Phos 6X
5)Natrum Mur 6X
So, 2 tablets each (5 * 2 = 10) twice a day (10 * 2 = 20 per day, 10 in the morning and 10 in the evening) at 6 AM and 6 PM for the duration of the 8th month.
Can anyone tell me if the above will cause any problems? I am a little anxious because the health of my baby is my hands. Please advice.

Hello
You can refer the following link to know how to make delivery easy.
http://www.abchomeopathy.com/forum2.php/85595/
For your current back problems if necessary take only one suggested remedy that too stop when you get better. You don't need this many prophylactic remedies when you haven't got any problem with your pregnancy.
Of course as a general tonic you can take tissue salts---Ferrum phos 6x, Calc. phos 6x, Kali phos 6x 3pills each thrice daily on and off. If you have taken for a week leave another week without tissue salts and again resume on 3rd week, leave 4th week and so on.

Thanks Maheeru. I have been a little concerned about the use of Caulophyllum. According to what my practitioner had given me, I am to take Caulophyllum 30 and Cimifuga 30 on alternate days at 10 AM from 9 to 9 1/2 months.
AND
Caulophyllum 200 daily at 6 AM and Pulsatilla 6 daily at bed time from 9 1/2 months till the appearance of labour pains.
Is it o.k to take so much caulophyllum? dose 30 for half a month and dose 200 for another half month? I have been reading conflicting things about caulophyllum which is causing me confusion. In some websites, it is advised to take caulophyllum only right before labour and not before it as it induces labour. And in some websites, it is advised to take caulophyllum 2-3 weeks before labour as it would strenghten the uterine muscles. Can you tell me if what my practitioner prescibed is o.k? Also should I only take it on alternate days or everyday?
Also is it o.k to take the tissue salts in the 8th month of pregnancy or should I take them in the 9th month?

Hi
I too don't think so much of caulophyllum is necessary for you. YOu can take caulophyllum 30c every 4th day from the start of 9th month and when you've got only 48 hours for the due date---take caulophyllum 200c three to four doses for 48 hours till delivery. Use cimicifuga 30c or 200c only when you find your labour pains scatter right or left instead of going towards uterus.
The same way in 9th month Kali phos and mag phos 6x may be taken regularly from the start of 9th month on and off as specified in that link. On appearance of labour pains both tissue salts may be dissolved in warm water and be sipped every one or two hours after stirring the solution. This will reduce pain and facilitate smooth labour and delivery.
In my above post I've mentioned combination of Ferrum phos, calc. phos and Kali Phos----this combination shall be used from 5th month of pregnancy onwards till end of 8th month.(so you can use this combination now as you're in 6th month.). It'll serve as a great tonic for the mother as well as the baby. But it should be taken in the above specified format on and off.
Hope that clears your doubt. And please report after your delivery. Best wishes.
