Dr Sameer -- 7 year old with fear

My son has developed a fear that somebody will come and either kidnap him or shoot him. When afraid -- can not stay alone in a room. When busy with something he does not mind being alone in a room.

Gets afraid from all kinds of noises. Says that he feels that the sound is coming towards him -- is being created by somebody coming closer. It is not that he hears imaginary sounds -- we can also hear the noises when he does, but he gets fearful.

Has been having some pus-filled pimples on face especially on the nose -- has been taking lots of mangoes.

He had fever a couple of weeks back. Was very thirsty during fever and was getting perspiration and heat in the covered portion. Uncovered portions were cold. Fever went upto 103F. The child was given a single split dose of Sulph 30C in water. Fever got controlled and subsided after a couple of vomits. Fear has been there even before fever.

Otherwise the child remains cheerful and has been attending school normally.

Earlier than this the child was given Sil 30 and the case history is available on this link ...

Thanks and Regards

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please wait for a couple of days and update me at that time.

The fear remains, though for some time we thought it was getting better.

When left alone, he says there is a ghost around and comes to a room where other people are -- though he is visibly not much terrified. Similarly he refuses to go alone to another room -- again saying that there is a ghost in that room.

Yesterday while passing stools, he said that there is a pain in rectum and that he gets it often. He says when he tries to concentrate on the pain -- it is more like a burning sensation.

Tonight, while sleeping he had nosebleed. Realized it only in the morning once he woke up.

Dear Puneet,

Please give him a dose of Pulsatilla 1M, and report back in 3 weeks time.

We had given the dose around 2 weeks.

As of now the fear has not fully subsided. It has improved somewhat though.

The child has had a series of pus filled pimples on the nose. The pimples have subsided now. But he got a pimple on the right lower arm. The pimple dried out in a couple of days but has also grown in a circular fashion and has become around a centimeter wide -- with a brown blister in the center.

The child developed cold today and is sneezing in between. The discharge from the nose is not much but is thin and makes the child uncomfortable. He did not go to the school and slept with his eyes partially open and watery.

Before getting cold, for the last couple of days the child was eating more than normal diet. And had a little craving for sweet food.

On the behavioral front, the child is now seeking more attention. On the weekends he attends football coaching and frequently goes to the coach to show that he is able to exercise better that others. He asks the coach to give him more difficult exercises. He is thin but has a flexible body. Other kids including his sister feel that the child is boasting. After the coaching is over he tries to convince me that he is actually better than the coach too! This trait has been long-standing but there is a marked aggravation on this front lately.
