Dog losing his hearing

My 13-year old male dog is losing his hearing. He seems to still hear high-pitched sound, but has a hard time determining the direction it is coming from. I have noticed that he scratches his left ear often. Two Vets have checked both ears and say that they are clean and free of wax. No infection is indicated. I know it is difficult to recommend a remedy for an animal, but I feel sorry for his plight and I want to help him.
I understand Sulphur is a potential remedy for hearing loss. I have Sulphur in 30C and 200C. Can anyone provide some advice on this?

Thank you in advance.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Mag Carb 200c, once in 4 days for a month. This helps old age hearing loss.

Phosphoros 30c, once in a month.

Your care for the pet is appreciated!

Thank you Reva, for your prompt reply. I am fairly new to Homeopathy. Can you tell me if I should administer the MagCarb200C for just one month? Also, should it be diluted in water?

Is the Phos30C in addition to the MagCarb? or an alternative to the Mag Carb? Should it be diluted? and for how long?

Sorry for all the questions, but I want to get this right.

Much love

You can buy Mag Carb 200c in pellets form. I suggest 4 pellets directly in the mouth. The dog can manage to eat it by chewing or so. If this is difficult to administer, you can dissolve 4 pills in a small quantity of water that the dog drinks. Both can work. Remember not to give this just after eating (giving medicine when the stomach is empty is prefered)

This should be given not daily, but given only once in 4 days (with 3 days interval)

In addition, also give the same way, Phos 30c, but once in a month

Please read my Profile for more basic information

The above medicines are focused only to help hearing. Please write back after a month or two. If you are interested, I can suggest some anti-aging medicine that can possibly extend the life of the dog. I have tried this in old age people and found to make them healthy and feel younger.

Hope this helps.

I find Mag Carb 200c in
This is Reva's response to a personal email I sent regarding difficulty in obtaining MAgCarb 200C. Thank you Reva, for all of your timely and important medical advice.

-----------------------------
From Reva,
Try www.txoptions.com. You can either order in their website or call them and ask for 'pellets' and 2 drach size. Their medicine is good and I order from them too. I consider them next to Boiron Quality.

For anti aging for the dog, give BARYTA CARB 30c, once a day for roughly 2 months, in wet doses. (one cap ful of the water once a day). This medicine you may want to order in dilution (in liquid), 1/2 oz or so. This medicine also works well to help his/her hearing.

Preparing Wetdose: (as described by Joe)
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water (Spring Water only, not mineral or purified water).
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake it hard to produce bubbles. This is homeopathic succussion and must be done 'every time before taking' a capful of this water from the bottle.

I will send you a time tested and health building anti aging protocol for you.

Can I request you to post this in the forum for future. It will be convenient to know the history from the post. Otherwise I had to go back to the forum to know the case history.

You can give Phos 30c, once to your dog.

Thanks,
Reva V

For Reva V.
I am doing a 1-month follow-up regarding my little dog with hearing loss.

He started MagCarb 200C on 1/15/10, and took 4 pellets every 4 days, as you instructed. I don't see much improvement in his hearing yet, but he does not seem as distressed. It is possible he is hearing a bit better. I will need to re-order the pellets, if you feel he needs to continue.

He began the Baryta Carb 30C for anti-aging on 1/17/10. It is in a wetdose, and he gets a spoonful every morning. You said he should take it for a couple of months, so it is probably a bit early for a followup.

He also got one dose of Phosphorous 30C on 1/16, per your instructions.

Is there anything more I should be doing? Are there any other remedies that may work better?

Thank you so much for everything you have suggested. I am deeply grateful.

Blessings to you and yours.

=======================

Repeat the same course each week for 4 weeks and please write back.

Your sincerity is much appreciated.

Phos followed by Lyco is a great anti aging. Sali is for hearing loss. You can stop Baryta Carb for now.

Mullen Oil is a good external drops for ears. No regular application needed. Ocassional to clean wax. You can google on this:

Reva, can you explain your protocol a bit more?

Are the Phos 200C and Lycopodium 30C taken once a week, for the entire 4 weeks, or just the one time?

Is the Salicylicum Acidum 6X taken 3 times a week, or every day?

Thank you for all your help.

Blessings and love

Phos 200 and Lyco 30 to be taken for 4 weeks (one dose of each in one week)

Sali Acid is 2 times in a day for 3 days in a week. You will do the same way for 4 weeks (3 days in a week)

I am glad you are clarifying instead of taking the incorrect way. I will try to improve my writing skills too.

Phos and Lyco revive every old age (human beings) promptly, giving better sleep, increased energy during day and good mental health. It gives prompt and long lasting results. Limit to 4 weeks only.

Reva, I finally received all the remedies I need for my little dog who is 13 now, and having hearing problems.
There was a short delay in getting the Salicylicum Acid in 6X. I began the protocol yesterday by giving the Phos 200C. Thank you so much for explaining all of this to me, as I am relatively new to Homeopathy.

I read all the 'descriptions' for each of the remedies, and find that they may be useful to my dog in areas other than his failing hearing. Particularly the SaliAcid. He has arthritis in his shoulders and front legs. He has a limp which the Vet says is arthritis. He recommended a type of steroid, which I am opposed to.

Reva, do you think any of these 3 new remedies will help with the limping?

Thank you so much for all of the advice. I am learning a great deal thru this.

Every medicine suggested is targetted to help hearing loss only, but carefully chosen to have some anti-aging benefit

Boericke is the authority in Homeopathy and you can read his works here:

http://homeoint.org/books/boericmm/index.htm

Limiping could be more paralytic than Arthritic, although your doctor could be right. I have seen great benefits from Causticum 200c, once in 4 days for a month for limping in dogs, but you may have to give either this or the other, not both course on the same time. Lyco could benefit limping partially.

Reva - Thank you for your reply. I will stay on the current protocol for now (the 4 weeks you suggested) and maybe put the dog on Causticum 200C when finished. He has taken the Phos and Lyco so far, and starts the SaliAcid today for 3 days. This is just his first week. He did have some runny stools after the Lyco, but nothing serious.

As far as the limping, he still runs in the park, and keeps going until he tires. Then the limping starts. Also starts after he sleeps too long. The Vet took X-rays and showed me the arthritis. I still administer Glucosamine dog treats every day (for about 7 years now). I think they have slowed down any progression in the problem.

Thanks again for your very important advice. I will update you soon.

Love and blessings

Loose motion after Lyco is very encouraging and is better.

Hi Reva, I am writing to give you an update on the last month of treatment for my elderly dog with hearing loss.

I have followed your protocols for anti-aging and hearing exactly. Phos200C & Lyco30C each week, and SalicyAcid 6X for 3 days each week.

My dogs reactions were varied and I am not sure he is hearing any better. He could be, however. He has started vomiting during the night, and I find the evidence in the AM.

The 4-week treatment is now over, and I welcome any further treatments you may suggest, including the one for limping, which is a bit better now.

Thank you so much for all your advice and assistance.

Reva, I am wondering if the limping is due to having the dog 'micro-chipped'? I read an article recently that some dogs develop tumors between the shoulder blades where the chip goes in. My 13-year old dog has a micro-chip, AND a tumor on the right side. Doctor doesn't seem concerned. AT first the tumor filled with water, which the vet would drain. Then it just became a fatty mass.

Is there any way to dissolve the fatty mass?

Also, the hearing loss is not yet healed. Any other suggestions?

Thank you so much.

Hello Reva
I have a 17 year's old dog who is showing some symptoms of dementia . I was wondering if a wet dose of baryta carb would help. I happen to have already a 6 c potency.
Would that work and if so how many drops would I use to make the wet dose and the posology? Or do i have to find a 30 c potency ?
She has also arthritis and is using the reumathic-Joint complex of Newborns homeopathic with some good result . Could she take the baryta wet dose the same day she would be taking the arthritis remedy ? Or you would suggest another different wet dose for the arthritis ? Hopefully you could help me with this. I would really appreciate it. Thanks

My pug 4 years old, had a inner ear infection resulting in a cerebral attack with partial paralysis on the left side. He was on causticum 6c and bayrta carb followed by hypericum and connium. His loss of balance has been recovered much and much of paralysis has recovered. But currently we see he is not responding to any sound. We checked thoroughly for his hearing capacity and we see it is quite affected. For his ear infection we tried silecia. Please let me know how to recover his hearing capacity
