Pregnancy
I would like to find out if it is safe to use Merc Viv during pregnancy. I have been working with a practitiioner that is recommending cleaning out mercury with this remedy. I am newly pregnant and do not want to do something that will harm the fetus. Will it put mercury into the fetus? I believe it is several doses of 6c over many days. Please respond. Thanks!zuzuzu on 2010-02-10
This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Homeopathy by principle were proved on women who are not pregnant.
Hence any experience is very limited to individual doctors.
Homeopathic remedies are very potent and would stay away from them, unless leaders documented it for Pregnancy based on year and years of experience.
There are only few remedies that Boericke documents that are pregnancy safe and I see Merc Cor, but not Merc Viv there. consider Merc Cor instead of Merc V, but in any case, repeat only occassionally (may be once a week for a month or so)

This practitioner tests the remedies to your DNA based on a saliva sample. Mine tested that I needed specifically Merc VIV to clear the mercury in my body, not Merc Cor. I feel like if I dont take it then the mercury can end up being passed to the fetus. Im very confused.

Please dont be confused. Pregnancy is a state to enjoy your life (I remeber Dr. Priya Darshini for reminding in her past posts)
If your Practioner is recommending Merc Viv only, please go for it. It is not too different, but ask him whether he has enough experience to back up his reasoning and his standard for repetition of medicine. If he has, go for it

There are couple of conditions when Merc. viv. is indicated during pregnancy. I hope the doctor is prescribing due to some of those conditions and knowledgeable enough for potency and dosing.
