Anxiety and Fear for Public Speaking

Hello

I would like to ask you for your advice and help on these two problems.

I am a 32 years old woman
Married, mother of a baby boy
Height: 160 cm, weight 52 kg
Light brown hair, brown eyes, pale face.
University education. High school teacher.

I have problems with speaking in the public and anxiety at all. I've been anxious since I can remember, however the fear for public speaking only got stronger in adult age. 3 years ago I had my first anxiety attack during a professional meeting I was in charge of. I felt dizzy, stopped listening to others and couldn't speak. Since then I always get really anxious in all meetings and can't speak at all, can't remember the right words, my voice trembles and my hands shake. I also feel very anxious when I have to speak to some higher authority. I fear of embarassing and humiliation. In public presentations it is even worse, when I have to stand up than to sit. I am very responsible and self-conscious. If I am among friends I am talkative, making jokes, amusing other people, smiling a lot.
I suffer from low self-confidence. At school I did not have problems with speaking in public, but I was also very anxious, sensitive and introvert child, although a good student.
For many years I used to think that my mother didn't like me and I suffered a lot with those thoughts. I used to have asthma crises until I was a teenager. Now I only have hay fever, especially in cold weather.

I have a tendency to have cellulite on legs and buttocks and some acne on cheeks.
I usually have cold feet and hands.
I get very agitated and talkative when I drink strong coffee.

Food aversion: boiled potatoes, onions, boiled fish.
Food preferences: chocolate, strong taste cheese, fast food, fruit juices, pies, pasta, eggs, hot drinks (tea or cappuccino).
I am rarely thirsty, I almost do not drink water.

Could you please help me?

Thank you so much,
Sofia

Dr.Mahfooz,

I thank you very much for your help and will take your advice. I understand I should buy the Argentum in liquid form, am I right?
I would like to ask for your help on another thing. I have an herpes on my mouth, right in the middle of the lower lip.(it appears from time to time)
Is there anything I can do to avoid this?

Thank you once more.

There is another thing that annoys me a lot. I have really strong and dark hair in my legs which is difficult to remove. I wax them in a beaty salloon but the girl who does it never gets to take them off in a satisfying form. She says the root of the hair is very strong and the hair breaks as it is pulled off.
I think that my hormone levels are normal so I don't know what causes this problem.
Is there any solution?

Thank you,
Sofia

I forgot to tell an important detail: I have restless eyes and constantly blink, especially when I'm nervous.

(I apologize for any mistakes in my posts, I am not a native speaker of english)

Thanks

Many people have this problem of glossophobia (fear of public speaking). Evene i had the same problem years ago. I joined a public speaking course for the same. And honestly, that has helped me a lot. The main thing is to practice and practice and practice. Speak before the mirror again and again. There are many tips on public speaking on the website. I followed the tips by Mr. Anurag Aggarwal who is a public speaking trainer at Anurag Aggarwal Institute of Public speaking. You may visit his blog for the same.

Hi SofiaF,

I can certainly relate to a fear when speaking in corporate professional environment. Many people have a fear like this and in general it's classified as glossophobia. A good tip is to join a local speaking club and to also read self-help blogs. Tom Woods' blog really helped me with tips and techniques. Really the best tip is to practice and practice!
