Sensorineural Hearing Loss

Hi All

I am Vikas Goel, age 29 years. I am suffering from Sensorineural Hearing Loss and since last one and half year using Hearing Aid. I have hearing loss of 50% in my left ear and 45% in right ear. I have taken Gingko Bilbao as prescribed by doctor to prevent more damage for 3 months 1 and half year earlier. Is there any kind of treatment available for Sensorineural Hearing Loss? I am not comfortable with CIC hearing aid as I don't feel like natural hearing. Hearing Loss may have developed in 2-3 years gap, not sure. Below given are the details which may be helpful for the treatment:
Married, Weight 58 kg, Height 165 cm, Non Diabetic, Current BP without medicine 90-140, vegeterian, minor involuntary movement in legs and hands. Left eye injury in childhood due to broken bangle. Other things are normal.

There is no specific reason for my sensorineural hearing loss as I never suffered any major disease in my whole life or in recent 8-10 years. Problem may have started 4-5 years earlier. As the process was very slow I am not sure since how long I am suffering from this problem. But since last 3-4 years I am feeling enough problem in hearing. 3-4 years earlier I suffered from cold which continued for almost 1 month and I coughed yellow colour cough. Sometimes I suffered from headache, but no ringing in year. Generally whenever I get ill I recovered in 2-3 days only. But sometime s I feel that I am hearing less as happens when suffering from cold. All test including MRI shows normal but confirmed sensorineural hearing loss. I also feel that I lack concentration due to which I feel more problem. About injury I met one with a bicycle when I was 10-12 years
and my nose bleeds. Till 18-19 year age every year in summer my nose bleed once or maximum twice. And it started again in 2010. Another injury I met in childhood in eye because of a broken bangle. No injury in head/ear. I have some cramp in my hand and minor involuntary movement happens in my hands, legs. Sometimes on lips and head also or at a particular portion of a body.

I don't think that MEDORRINUM 200c has benefited me to cure my hearing problem. But I feel that my hearing problem is connected with my involuntary movement in hands and legs, sometimes on lips and eyes and sometimes on other particular body parts. Please guide me further as both started almost at same time.

Thanks for the support you are extending to me. But the prescribed medicine has not benefited me. Should I continue with the same prescription? I think I am suffering from anxiety problem and little bit tense about my work. Lack of concentration is another issue because of which I am not able to hear properly. In morning I feel more shivering effect.

Is frequent masturbation at earlier can be a reason for all the above mentioned problems? At present I don't have any other problem except hearing loss, involuntary movement and lack of concentration.

Hi Dr.Abhishek,

I am also suffering from SHL for past 1 and 1/2 year. For past 6 months i have been wearing hearing aids...but its of no use. I am terribly depressed with the my current status as am finding difficult to manage my day to day work at office. I request you to kindly help me out with this.

My 7 year old son is suffering from Sensorineural Hearling Loss for last 2 years (that's when we came to know about it). We live in Toronto(Canada). When we came here in Canada in 2007, after few days, my son had very severe head ache with fever. He kept crying all day, because of that. Doctor advised the fluids only and some medication(Tylenol) for fever and head ache. I think that's when this problem started. We take him to ENT doctor, every six months.The specialist says, the problem is not too bad. My wife, also had him to doctor in India, earlier this year and they said the same thing. However, for past few days, he sometimes, does not respond when we call him and also complains about pain in ear and covers his hair on loud noises. Please, advise us something to cure/reverse his hearing loss. We'll really appreciate it.

Dear Dr.

My daugher aged 3 1/2 year old has hearing loss for the past 1 1/2 year. she cannot hear 100% when she affected by cold. otherwise we have to speak loudly then only she can hear. Pls advise.
