This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Use Nux vomica 6c twice a day for 15 days and report.

Merc Sol. 30c

three times a day for a week...then report progress.

See this thread also.

If these meds fail to give relief...try China 30 c ...three times a day ...it is specific for bitter taste in the mouth. If you have great flatulence then try this one first.

It is a med for de-arranged spleen and liver ...which cause the bitter taste.

Infact, Nux Vomica, Merc Sol. and China are all meds for the liver.

So, two different remedies...

thanks.

In my rush to post yesterday I forgot to add some personal details.

age 42

weight 120 kg

I toss and turn a lot in my sleep and I was quite ill one month ago with a throat infection. I felt very dizzy for 3 weeks following this illness.

I will see if I can actually get either of the suggested remedis here in Hungary.

Thank you for the help.

It is really surprising to see how the experts are prescribing the remedies based on a single symptom. There are dozens of remedies having bitter taste in mouth.

Yes, Maraheem, I was surprised but I am not sure what other symptoms to list here.

If you or they ask I will gladly answer.

That is why three possible alternatives have been given.

Most people visiting this forum also read the drug picture of the med suggested to see if it is a good match.

Otherwise, if we do a detailed case taking ...have seen in the past....it takes a week to 10 days to get a complete picture of the symptoms via internet....by that time the person's health has gone down considerably or the person has lost interest in homeopathy ...or both.

Rob...if you have been through a throat infection....then Merc Sol. will be the best option to start with.

Punkaj,

Sure i too read the remedy info to see if what is suggested here matches...

at home for self diagnosis i refer to books on homeopahty and whn I can get an appointment i go see a homeopath or at least try to call and get a phone consult.

I also use this site as it seems more accurate than my books and it is quite fast.

I will try Merc Sol and see what happens....

thanks!

rob

btw, the throat infection was 4 or 5 weeks ago... the bitter taste started recently...

No need to be surprised.

I believe that any of the polychrests (medicines that cover many many symptoms)will do all the good they can.

We will prescribe higher potencies when we are fairly confident of the choice. If not fairly lower potencies.

It can be either a hit or miss. Neverthless any homeopathic medicine taken in a proper way will do it's best in correcting the system, atleast in a limited way.

Many times the action of remedies overlap..like those of overlapping circles. The superficial symptoms may respond to more than one remedy.

Nux may help in getting rid of the bitter taste. It will also help in removing the constipation, if the patient has it. It doesn't matter if the patient mentions it or not.

As Pankaj says China will help to improve the liver function along with removing bitterness.

Merc sol may benefit in other areas like reducing the tendency to sweat, slimy mouth, ulcers etc.

So there is generally no harm in trying one medicine at a time, even empirically, provided the repetetion is done cautiously.

The case of sensitive people is different. Most of the Asians are not that sensitive and can tolerate repetetion of even dry doses fairly well.

If I want to try hit or miss method then Nux Vomica prescribed by givinimurthy seems to be more realistic, assuming that the patient might have used allopathic medicines for his infection.

After posting my comments I have seem givinimurthy’s reply. Here at least there is some explanation of the action of different remedies which can help the patient to choose the right remedy.

Rob,
Homeo meds will deal with the residual infection that has not been cleared by allopathic drugs.

Have dealt with many such cases.

Hi All,

I ende dup not doing anything and the taste went away, but lower back pains persisted... I thought they were from a running/training session where I just over did it....

the taste is back, my doctor things I may have bladder stones and wants me to get an ultrasound, etc....

just have not been able to get to the hospital for the tests because of work schedule....

and now, in addition to the bitterness I am having quite bad pain, right side, lower back, just above hip/waist line.

I bicycle to work everyday, rain or shine, cold or hot, and that is something that always brings relief to my pain.... even now, when I have a soar throat again I feel good moving....

thanks for all the help and ideas...

Hello,everyone.

I came across an old forum about "bitter taste in mouth" and I felt kind of relief that it's not only 5 that suffers because of it...

My own problem started 2 years ago with a sense of burning at my tongue. As days passed, this burning gave its place to a persistent bitter taste in my mouth. Since then I experience the bitter taste in almost a daily basis.

Notices and facts that make sense are:

- The bitter taste come and go and I cannot make any connection with a possible cause(food, allergy, stress periods, stomach, digestion problems, etc)

- I was diagnosed with allergic rhinitis (long time before the problem of bitter taste started)for which I had taken medication(antihistamines, cortisone injection) and I had been cured.

-There are days I feel good (no symptoms at all),days that I have the bitter taste some hours per day and days that the symptom bothers me all the day during.

- During my pregnancy, I didn't have any symptom at all.Bitter taste came back 2 months after delivery.(I was breastfeeding since the first day of delivery)

- Every morning that I wake up, I don't have bitter taste in my mouth. Bitter taste starts with the start of the daily meals.

- Endoscopy (in nose, larynx, pharynx) indicated swollen nasal nipples and there was also an indication of Gerd.
(In the past I was diagnosed with Gerd once again, for which I was given 2 months zurcazol treatment with no reduce of bitter taste symptoms)

- Ultrasonic in upper abdomen was negative.

- At my first brain MRI(2009),I was diagnosed with cavernoma(at the right front lobe) which was a random medical finding and I 'm used to checking it out once per year.

-All the blood tests are negative.

- Most of the times, the back part of my nose is such stuffy that it leads to sore throat, pain in ears, pain in the nose.

- My doctor gave me to try Pulsatilla 200 for the first day and Pulsatilla 30 every morning for 1 month. It seemed it worked the two first days that I took it(no symptoms at all) but now (7th day),I 'm suffering from sore throat, pain in ears, much more than before.

Could sb help me and suggest me a possible solution to my problem?
