The ABC Homeopathy Forum

Overdosed infant with Hyland's, please advise Page 2 of 3

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
My toddler is still coughing this morning like last night, and sometimes I notice it looks likeshe is a bit scared, her eyes get big because I think she can't breathe for a second. She opens her mouth wide sometimes but doesn't cough, I think she is trying to breathe better but is gagging on mucus. There is a lot of fluid I think, perhaps in her chest? I don't know where it is. She is not coughing anything up, I think she cannot get it out.

Her tongue is coated a bit less, it is more like a horseshoe shape now, with the heaviset part in the middle.

Re my toddler's cough, it seems much better when she is standing as compared to lying down.

I sure am chatty, I notice I posted a lot overnight!

About my mental fears, I sometimes get scared when alone in the house (or with my baby) or going to sleep. I imagine scenarios with intruders.

I am going to leave soon to pick up the Calc. and wonder if anyone has the time and would post whether they think the nux vomica 3c or 6c recommended on another thread fits my overall ailments and persona. Also, same with phosphorous.

Today outside it looks beautiful.

Your posting:
"I was doing a search on the net for opaque coated white tongue and came up with a hit to Kali Mur... What do you think Sabra since you suggested Calc. for baby A.? I am still planning to get the Calc. by tomorrow."

Which is "baby A?" Another posting? Every suggestion is for a particular reason for THAT individual. If you wish to slide around and do your own why ask the forum for direction?

I did not suggest "calc" I suggested Calcarea CARB. There are 22 calcareas to choose from. How does one purchase a remedy without the correct name? Learn to operate in specifics and accuracy. To do otherwise is careless and will lead to mistakes.

One must set to a course and keep to it to a degree that one LEARNS from it. When one is sliding around following whims of this and that, the mind and body has no chance to settle on a "learned by experience" thing. One can always change one's mind, but if the mind was never made up in the first place, how can one change it in lieu of a better choice??

One must always be able to make a choice...and be able to also change it.

Blessings, Sabra

Here are the answers to the question about my baby, actually toddler. I only have one child. I gave her calcarea carb. twice today, one time late morning, once before bed. I wonder if there is anything anyone has against using children's tylenol for her fever.

Name: Lee
Age: 18 mo.s
Height: ??? (I will check later because she is asleep now).
Weight: 19 lb.s

1. Onset: complaint initially sudden, arriving as fever of unknown source. Fever dissappeared, returned two days later to stay three days. Then Lee slowly progressed from minor sneezing and coughing to more serious coughing and fever over the course of a week.

2. Etiology- Initial fever occurred the day after we came home from a long car trip (2 day driving there, 2 days returning to break up 12 hour trip). Fever and stomach gas occurred again two days later just after her mom (me) and grandma had a huge fight. Her grandma left two days later and has been gone, and her cough has worsened.

3. Sensation-She has a lot of stomach gas, she burps or I hear it. She is sometimes feverish about 102, but her feet still seem cold. Mucuous in throat and nose prevents her restful sleep, and she sometimes makes a little moan as she sleeps. Breathing not great because she seems sometimes to gag or look scared. She started to pull at her right ear, and does not want her face to be touched, so they must be sensitive now. She is tired during the day.

4. Appearance: Eyes are a bright and moist, but lids a bit low, and circles under her eyes are tinged a purplish red. Tongue is coated in center with an opaque whitish, slightly greyish color. Blonde hair, blue-gray almond shaped eyes, small lips, nose, face, etc. Thin. Skin pale, translucent, and shows patchy red tones near jaw line under cheeks. Skin tends to dryness. Elbows dry. Head fairly clear of cradle cap, but still has bumps of eczema on facial skin, near forehead, and on upper arms.

5. Location-Chief complaints are coughing and stomach grumbling. Coughing seems to come from throat and chest.

6. Modalities-Too much travel seems to make her weaker, shopping while sick tired her out. Evening and night her fever worsens, and normally her cough. She usually kicks her covers off in the morning.

7. Concomitants-Stomach grumbling, nose congestion, head does not want to be touched, looks exhausted.

8. Discharges-She has very little expectoration. The little she has looks mainly clear, frothy, tinted white or yellow.

9. General--She looks tired.

10. The mentals-She cries more about not being held, and wants to be held constantly. She is not as interested in anyone besides mom. She just wants her mom.

11. What does she say? She says "Mom" mainly, sometimes "Opa."

12. Thirst--She is thirsty, she wants just to nurse all day. She drinks lukewarm water she is served, sipping it rapidly. She does not want sour drinks like orange juice.

13. Fever? Fever comes and goes, apparently, as mentioned. Has remained at 102 or less. I notice tonight it was at 102.5 degrees.

14. Sweating- No.

15. Odors-Sometimes her gas smells bad, usually her poo smells bad. Lately her poo smells worse than normal.

16. Most striking about the condition? The coughing sounds like she has a lot of fluid, it sounds watery, and yet nothing much comes out. Also, she stays pretty pale even when her temperature goes up. I think she gets sick a bit too often, and she is a bit thin to be eating less due to sickness.

Momma last decade
The calcarea carbonica may be making the mucuous get out of her system. She has had three doses and tonight will be the last. I will add her new symptoms:

8. Discharges-coughed up a lot of (almost like she is vomiting, it is hard to tell with the way she coughs) opaque white marshmallow like mucous today, and also overnight she hacked up something that acted like a 4 and a half inch circle of water on the sheets. Nasal-a little bit of opaque greenish tinted mucuous in watery base, OR watery clear liquid.

Fever-Last night while she was feverish she was anxious, her eyes flitted around rapidly, her breathing was faster and loud, she seemed to tremor. Her temp. read as 102.7 when I checked it that night. Her checks blushed a little bit. I still what a homeopathic position would be on using tylenol for her fevers. I have belladonna, but I don't think she is the type.

Odors-Her urine smelled bad today. Maybe she just needed to drink more yesterday.

Generals-She hates being bathed normally, but now she also does not want to let me wash her face.

Momma last decade
Oh, and I checked her height, which is approx. 29 inches.

I am glad she has gotten some of the mucuous out it is worrying to hear it causing her cough and gag all night.

Momma last decade
Thanks for filling it--it could be that calc.carb . makes her cough up that mucous- you have to give it more days--also odors in urine or sweat (appearing after the remedy) may indicate healing.

If the remedy is right she should generally cfeel better-onkly you can see it.

Astra2012 last decade
Momma: belladonna is often used for sudden onset fevers, flushed face, thirst-what do you mean by "she is not the type"?

Astra2012 last decade
I'd recommend for you yoga, meditation and Silva mind control.

Astra2012 last decade
Okay, I thought that the belladonna did not work unless your fever was one with a flushed face, warmth, maybe also red eyes. I am just guessing. She gets hot but doesn't really turn pink. She stays pale and wan, and at most faintly blushes when very hot.
Belladonna works for one of my cousins, but not the other. I thought it must be because you have to fit the fever type.

I think she looks mentally better today, so even though the coughing is still unnerving, I think the CC helps. Sabra said just to take it two days, so tonight is the last dose and then I guess I have to wait and see.

I will type out the chronic questions later. The Silva mind control sounds like it could be useful but I am not quite sure what it is exactly. Yoga and meditation would probably work well for me.

hi, i wanted to update on my toddler. She is still quite cranky even though she took the Calc. carb. for two days. I know I can't expect miracles, though.
This morning she was crying because she couldn't sleep with all the mucus and coughing. She started crying cause she just could not get comfortable. I took her to the doctor but he said it looks like a virus though he did not run any tests.

I said before that she does not want me to touch her face or wash it, though she wants continually to be held. She also cries when I change her, she does not want me to clean her then either.

Momma last decade
Let's keep this thread about your daughter only-that way it will not be confusing.

Belladonna';s fever ius with flushed face but CHAMOMILA is not necessarily.
give her cham 30c, one dose, when she has fever now-it should work immediately (a bit longer for you to see).

Astra2012 last decade
Thanks! I will get some chamomila 30c. I noticed that her nose is now running thick and clear, which I hope is an improvement.

I will post things about me on the thread titled "stuttering, career failure" and stuff on my daughter just on this thread, then.

Momma last decade
Must admit I haven't yet picked up the chamomila, since I thought she was done with being feverish I thought I would pick it up at a convenient time. However, she seemed quite hot last night. At the same time, her feet seemed icy.

This morning a little after she awoke she began crying again because of discomfort. Later she sneezed and two large trains of globby greenish mucus came from each nostril. At least she slept better during the night, without waking up so much from her cough. However since she hasn't slept much in any case, she looks exhausted. She continues to be quite clingy. Her eyes look moist but clear.

Today I will get the chamomila, since she is still getting some kind of fever (high or low I don't know, didn't check).

Momma last decade
Hi Momma-keep posting.
it could be that cc still works and she clears her lungs-give cham. only if acute need arises.(lots of responsibility on you but that's the way of homeopathy!)

Astra2012 last decade
Okay then. Her lungs do seem to have cleared some, seem to have a lot less fluid or mucuous.

Momma last decade
Thank Goodness! Seems the CC did a job on the mucus. This is really good for this particular situation. Also you may be sure the ears have been treated also.

Try the Cham to see if she is less fussy, but in 4 or 5 days from the last dose of CC I would suggest a boster dose, to finish up the treatment. It is good if more mucus, or not. Both are good signs of cleaning out the body of the need to manufacture mucus.

Let us know how she is doing.

Blessings, Sabra

sabra last decade
Thanks Sabra and Astra, will give her a CC booster in a few days and post how she does.

I noticed today too that she had a bit more energy and fun than she has lately.

Thanks again!

I have been commenting on may daugher's coated tongue, and now I have the feeling it is thrush. The coating looks a bit denser, or "taller" though not really tall. It is a bit yellowish or grayish, not white like before, and like a spoon shape starting in the center going down her tongue towards her throat.
I think it is thrush too because the nursing is suddenly starting oddly to get uncomfortable for me too, pinkish sore nipples. I am sure since she hasn't been eating much that she got it from malnutrition, since she is so skinny anyway. I have a hard time getting her to eat anything but porridge or creamy things.

I have some Kali Muriaticum 6 at home and was reading on the forum this might help for thrush, but if there is something better I would get it tomorrow. I also wonder about the dosage for my daughter, and how often.

Momma last decade
I understand that the Kali Muriaticum is a cell salt, so it should be fine to give anybody. Am I wrong? I wish to give it to her for what looks like thrush.

Momma last decade
yes, you may give her kali mur. 4 x a day--and see if it helps
thrush? you mean candida infection?

How does she eat fiber?
