I have multiple cysts in both ovaries. Got it tested with lower abdomen TVS test. I am 32 yrs and have no child. I had metformin for 1 year, but no results. Please help.alpanaggn on 2011-01-16

Yes, for ovarian polycysts I was taking. I dont know the name of the medicine as the doctor used to make it and give to me. I had it for 4 months, starting Sep 2010.
Please answer the following questions in a descriptive manner after careful analysis and recollection of previous experiences and happenings.
1. Describe your main suffering?
Have ovarian polycysts in both ovaries. Ultra sound on 7-Jan-2011 shows left ovary volume as 8cc and right as 12.4 cc with increase blood flow in in stroma. Have multiple cysts in both ovaries size of 5-7 mm.
History: have a history of irregular periods. In class 12th it started had. No periods for 6-7 months then my mother took me to homeopathy doc and it go well. My mother also had a history of irregular periods. But she did not face problem when she conceived.
In 2008 I took contraceptive pills (Harmony) from mar till sep. In sep my periods became irregular again. Used to have periods after 2 months. Consulted a doc and I was asked to take metformin. I ate for 1 year, but always used to have nausea and sometimes had lose motions if I used to have metformin after eating something light.
2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?
Pimples and fat near tummy and migraine (started when I was in class 5th). I forget things now. Sometimes while climbing stairs I by mistake climb 2 at a time and then stumble.
3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?
I undergo depression when my periods start. For the past 2 years I am trying to conceive, but no luck so far. I will be 33 in Mar, so worried more. But before conceiving I want to get rid of these cysts.
4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst? Describe the sensation in your own words.
I start to cry and feel depressed and feel why is it happening to me.
5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?

6. Which time of the day you are worst?
When I am at home. And specially weekends. I keep on thinking about my problem. And specially when some aunt asks me why we are not having a kid, and I do not want to tell everyone my problem. When at work I am busy with work and have no worry then.
7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same? Example- time, temperature, pressure, rubbing, washing, eating, tight clothing etc.
When I recall people asking me about kids. I keep on thinking about the person who had asked and I keep on feeling angry on him/her.
8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?
Start of my Periods, when all my hopes are crushed
9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?
Feeling is same irrespective of weather.
10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.
Yes I am moody and become angry very soon. I dont trust anyone that easily. I am easily offended and I do not like to dicsuss my problem with everyone. I am not quiet. I am quite vocal. But my husband is supportive.
- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm?
No change. I like rains.
- Do you like being consoled during your tough times?
Yes. When I cry I want someone to be there to console me.
- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc?
Only when I have migraine problem.
- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
Weeping, talking to one self etc?
I start to Weep very soon.
- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife?
They all are very nice.
11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly?
My main fear is not able to conceive. When I see any female who has conceived I feel very bad for myself.
12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions?
I really like non veg food. I like all veggies. In winters specially because vegies look more fresh. I like sweet a lot. No aversion as such.
13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive?
less. When I am in office. Then I am able to drink when the bottle is infront of me. Intake reduces on weekends.
14. How is your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive?
Normal.
15. Is there any kind of food which your body cant stand?
Egg plant/brinjal. I have nausea after eating that.
16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs?
Normal. Arm pits
17. How is your bowel movement and stool type?
Now its normal, but have constipation history. But gas problem is still there and there is bad odour.
18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping?
I feel comfortable sleeping on my tummy.
19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general?
yes
20. Do you have any strange, peculiar or unusual symptom or feelings? How are you different from others?
I think too much about this problem.
21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication?
Took metformin. Periods became normal. But cysts are still there. Took homeopathy still cysts are there.
22. What major diseases are running in your family?
My father had kidney problem. Had he is no more. My mother had migraine problem and had irregular periods.
23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance.
(For Females) I am short with curly hair, wear specs with little pimples on both my cheeks and fat in tummy area.
24. If your menstrual cycles are not normal, please describe the irregularities, like pains, moods, flow type, clots etc.
After htaking metformin my periods were regular. Had a gap of 2-3 days delay. But last month a gap of 10 days was there. Hope developed that I might have conceived, but then periods started in 10 days. I have not taken test to check if my fallopian tube in open or not. Earlier also when I was a student my periods started with delay of 5-10 days.
25. What major diseases have you had in your life and when. Please write them in a chronological manner.
Jaundice when I was in class 2. Migraine started when I was in class 5th. Vision used to blurr with some silver lining and it used to disappear and head ache used to start. But those linings/flashes do not come now. Head ache starts, usually on one side of head.

In your email to me you indicated that you have read some of my cases which I have helped patients with my default remedy Bellis Perennis 30c and Arnica 30c both in the Wet dose.
You are advised to type 'Ovarian Cyst' into the search window on every page of the ABC and read the many cases that I have helped with these 2 remedies.
Please note that these Ovarian Cysts aka Chocolate Cysts due to the colour of the fluid that fills them, may take some time to be reduced and you must understand that this therapy is not an instant fix.
For the record I shall copy instructions on making the Wet dose below:
The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:
Order the remedy in the Ethanol pack also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard before you sip a capfull of the bottle or a large teaspoonful which is the dose.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this shaking must be done at least 6 times before sipping a capful of the bottle as prescribed.
Report progress weekly please.

Just to know my understanding is correct. Bellis Perennis 30c is one medicine and Arnica 30c is another medicine. I have to get both and mix them and then take 3 cm of this mixture and pour in 500 ml of spring water. And I have to consume 1 tablespoon before going to bed at night. Please correct me if I am wrong.

You must please read my instructions and follow them precisely as I can see that you have got all the therapy I prescribed completely mixed up.
I shall repeat my instructions below and I shall expect you to state if you have understood them and how you will be using them. Please give details of how you understood my therapy as I must be quite sure that you do not make your problem far worse than it is now by messing up my therapy.

Thanks for the clarification:) I was currenly having homeopathy medicine for the same problem. Should I stop that and only then should I start this? I do not know the name of the ones I have now. The Dr prepares them for me.

My pimples have increased. Started one month back bef i started this therapy. Are my pimples because of cysts? I had a clear skin when i was a teenager. But at 27 age it started. After i started eating metformin they had subsided. But started again.

Your Acne is the least of your problems right now.
Arnica has helped many teenagers and it may also do so in yours.
It is important that you relax as much as is possible as worrying about your problem constantly can be counterproductive.

My current pimples have started to dry out. And I am not getting new ones. So far this remedy has proved to be a miracle because none of the medicnes every worked for my pimples.
I hope my cysts are also disapperaing in the same way.

Thank you for alerting me by email as the automatic email alerts are not working for me and for many other members of the ABC and I would otherwise have missed your post.
I am glad to learn that your acne has responded to my Arnica therapy. I prescribe Arnica 6c in the Wet dose usually for acne patients but I preferred to prescribe the 30c for you as this is the most effective potency for CC's. Many girls who suffered from Acne and had been under the tender loving care of doctors who just delighted in using the most exotic drugs for acne have reported that they suffered some serious side effects with the drugs which in some cases worked, but only as long as they were taking them.
In direct contrast my Arnica therapy which incidentally is not in the textbooks and is another of my 'discoveries', is absolutely safe to use for acne and it will also help your body in many other ways which I have referred to in my website. For the record I must mention here that I have taken Arnica 30c in the Wet dose nightly since 1996 and at age 82 I can categorically state that it has done me a world of good, much to the chagrin of my classical detractors who seize every opportunity of criticizing my therapy due to my not following the standard classical rule of prescribing ONE remedy to treat the totality of the symptoms the patient presents.
You will have to be patient for a few months and a scan done in 3 months after you start on my therapy should hopefully show the desired result. If positive, you will have to take the remedies for a considerable time into the future but at attenuated levels which I shall indicate later.

If you are so very interested in studying them, I would suggest that you read every one of my posts to my patients as you will then be able to identify these discoveries instead of my listing them here which may be then identified as 'unethical' as happened recently when I mentioned that I was the first to identify Arnica to help control Diabetes.
As you may be aware, any one of the classical texts lists about 50 remedies for a given ailment but the fact is that no homeopath worth his salt would dare to experiment with these many remedies merely because they are listed in the Materia Medicas and Repertories which date bact to ancient times.
Arnica is seldom if never prescribed by any homeopath for Diabetes but I have hundreds of patients on this remedy which some of them use exclusively to control (not cure) their Diabetes. The problem I face is that I am often identified as a maverick in Homeopathy because I do not conform to the classical attitude which is to 'treat the symptoms the patient presents with a single remedy', which diktat I just refuse to accept.

As discussed on the mail, I went for the ultrasound on 14th Mar, which is 4 days less than 2 months since I started the medication. There is a lot of improvement in my current report. The report does not speak about cysts now, but multiple follicles with one dominant follicle.
You dont know how happy I was after I saw the report.

I am not qualified in Gynecology but from my reading I believe that the Follicle you refer to is the cover over the egg that is released during ovulation.
If the conditions in both the Fallopian Tube and the Ovary are not right this follicle enlarges and a Chocolate Cyst results.
