Nice to have someone else appreciate Bellis

So glad that your dog is doing better now, have been following closely and was very sad to read of his being attacked. I am interested to read about Bellis as I have not used it as much as Arnica - despite the previous note that it is 'British Arnica' and much used in UK - this is news to me and several others in UK!!. My thoughts are with you.

I should mention too I have him on Ignatia for the grief from all this. Several times per day he goes from perky to depressed, sighing, you can see the past trauma affecting him from all the abuse and this recent attack.

I hope I chose the right remedy for this.

Thanks Erika for your support and everyone else as well.

Blessings,

Is the pus better then? I feel too many remedies being used - if the pus is still there, go with the Hepar. A dose of Bellis as needed. I think Sabra's advice re. HO2 is good; I usually avoid upsetting an injured animal, but maggots are a possiblity in a deep wound, so could you get help and pour some Hyd. Peroxide in?
I feel so appreciative of anyone who takes such care of their - and all - animals. Keep posting.
Best regards to you and Buddy and all your family.

Well I wanted to post before I went to bed. Computer is in my roommates room and he is a late sleeper.

The peroxide was a most excellent suggestions because it cleared the pus and cleaned out his wounds.

None of you are able to see his wounds, but to give you a very bizzare explaination of his chest wound, and all ladies will understand this, it looks like the entry to a vagina that is how deep it is.

The peroxide did such a great job that I can now see clear into the chest wound, all dead tissue and gunk is gone. High regards to Sabra.

The second does of Bellis really alleviated the swelling and pain in his leg and it seemed to bring the edges of the wounds, closer together. Two doses of Bellis and he walks on his leg like it is healed, quite amazing.

He is in our furnished garage because he has never been in a house, and we live at someone else's house for now. Any flies that make their way in he chases away. The only open wounds are on his chest and thigh which are covered by his body when he sleeps.

Any maggots will only eat the dead tissue so I am not worried and if God forbid they appear, I will flush them with peroxide.

I have to say with 21 other animals, a roommate, his kid, a husband who commutes almost 3 hours per day, and a very injured dog, this week has been the most trying of all on my husband and I and w/o all of you....I would have lost my mind. You all have given me the extra courage to know I can do this and avoiding the vet was the best choice. I've worked with a lot of sick animals but never an animal with open wounds like this.

We just stay focused on the blessing Buddy is alive and progressing towards being healed. If all of you could only see the incredible transformation he has made since we moved here, you would see why this is such a delicate case.

Minsa, thank you for your kind words...my family 4 and 2 legged is grateful for your support.

Blessings,
NAMASTE

P.S. Right now he is sleeping on his pillow and blanket like a puppy, he has never had this before in his life.

Bellis not only heals physical wounds but emotional trauma also, looks like its done that as well.

passkey last decade
Good to know Passkey.

He is doing this weird thing and I am concerned. For hours he will seem like he is fine his best times are at night when he is sleeping and by early am he looks well on the road to recovery. Then by 9AM he does the following and seems to be regressing.

The room he is in is warm, but his paws and ears are cold and he wants to lay on the cool floor. He shivers and shakes like he is cold but does not want to be covered.

Any advice?

Namaste27 last decade
I expect he is conserving heat and energy in main organs and main recovery area - the cold in paws and ears are not so important. he may have a slight fever that he is relieving by being on the cool floor. As long as he is mainly comfortable and improving on the remedies you are giving then just keep a watchful eye. Should be OK. Look out for any signs of change and come back if very different. sleep well and take care...

erika last decade
Is he eating okay? thirst?

Minsa last decade
Probably best left alone but the fact that he was cold and wanted a cold surface rang a bell.

Took a bit of time to track it down but its in Kents lecture on Nat mur. Have a look .

passkey last decade
Thank you Passkey, I had a feeling Nat. Mur. would come up at some point, considering his past.

Minsa, he is eating and drinking, picky, but that is his normal demeanor.

He now goes outside for walks so his leg is 75 percent better already. Chest and arm laceration are still mending, back puncture wound, the deepes one is a doozie, but healing.

He tried to burst out of the door this morning, wanting to be back outside, so that was a good sign.

Touch and go with him, he is very sensitive, it is hour by hour with him. One minute he is a puppy on his back and the next minute he is sighing and depressed.

No sign of pus or infection, he cleans his wounds often as do I.

In case anyone wondered what kind of dog he is, he is a mix, golden lab and chow? He has everything golden lab, but his ears bend at the tips and his tail curves upwards. He has black lines around his eyelids like an Egyptian, so what a sweet face you can imagine.
Brown eyes and I think he is about 5 years old.

Blessings to all,
NAMASTE

So pretty! (of course I have yet to see the dog that wouldn't be).

You are doing so great! I'm sure it's not easy. I can't be here more often but it is so wonderful that everybody is (genuinely) interested.

About broccoli juice: It is definitely not chlorophyl as cauliflower, parts without chlor. does that too. And only plants from the family of cruciferae do that (my grandma used bruised cabbage leaves on surface wounds-she didn't know broccoli unfortunately--yes, there are other weirdos in my family)--there will be no infection and heals fast.

nat-m (chronic for Ignatia)has also very marked periodicity, unlike eup-per (one morning and next could be afternoon; or one strong chill and next day not that strong; it has strong bone pains thouggh) or plantago (no periodicity basically, just chill with shivering; cold hands in warm room; although beside ledum and hypericum it is used for puncture wounds)
nat-m is also very grieving, very sad.

hi Erica: the homeopath who said that bellis-p was British arnica is from Netherlands--that's how I know (I'm from us).

Astra2012 last decade
Hi - so glad your dogs wounds are healing up each day more! are you doing OK or are you exhausted?
Re the arnica - I guess the dutch know the british better than the british!!:):)
interesting about the brocolli and cauliflower astra - I have used the bruised cabbage leaves for mastitis and it really works! There is so much we can all still learn, life and nature is such a blessing - each day something new.

Hi,

I am still waking once per night to check on him, but am sleeping a bit more.

What does not kill you truly make you stronger.

But all that matters is Buddy, that he is on the road to recovery and that he knows his suffering and hardships are over for good.

He is eating, sleeping, walking around on the leash outside, but still sore on his back from the puncture wounds.

Remedies and peroxide are bringing a lot of pus and blood out of the wounds.

Leg is almost completely healed except for the open wound, which is sealing with new inner flesh and then I assume the top layer of skin will grow,

Chest wound is shrinking in size.

I am in the process of removing the bloody/dirty hair from around his back wounds. It pulls right out, he won't let me shave it, he freaks from the noise of the clippers.

Inch by inch with this guy, he has taught me great patience.

Thanks again to all,
I will always be grateful for all the help that has been provided.

Bless,
NAMASTE

That's good to hear - Get some rest!
And thanks, Astra for the bit about the brocolli/ cruciferous vegs. - the things one learns on this forum!

Minsa last decade
It is so good to know that there are other weirdos...!

I always keep some brocoli stems in the fridge and if I don't have time and the cut is not big I just scrape with knife some juicy inside of the stem and put on the cut even for a while. That way I know it will heal without any scar.
For bigger wounds or for animals I grate few stems.
Animals usually do not let you mess with their wounds for long-so I -out of a sudden-pour freshly squeezed juice on the wound. Once I do that I'm sure it will heal fine with no infection-and I have no idea why.

Astra2012 last decade
The more weirdos the better. It shows individuality and creativity.

Buddy is doing remarkable.

Several days ago his back puncture wounds oozed blood and pus, I could tell because it was gooey and pinkish in color. After that the holes were gone, and now it looks like small abrasions with scabs.

He let me brush him, and seems to love it, so lots of dried blood, dead fur, and dirt are coming off of him.

Chest wound is 60 percent closed and no infection.

Leg wound is growing another new layer of flesh.

He is eating, walking, drinking and completely back to normal after 1.5 weeks. Quite remarkable.

I am still giving him Bellis, one dose in the AM to get him through the day. And I am giving him Ledum, Hypericum, Echinacea, and that's it.

Last night I had him in the house for the first time, probably the first time he has ever been inside a home.

He walked into the laundry room and looked at me like, "What do I do now mom?"

He followed me into the living room and layed down on the carpet where he slept and rolled over for hours.

In two days he knows the commands down, lay down, sit, stay, etc. Amazing!

Thanks again, everyone, I will post again if there are any changes or when he makes his full recovery.

If any of you have a constitutional remedy in mind I would appreciate it for him.

Before this attack on him, he was abused and abandoned as I mentioned.

He also had this thing about chasing cars, he would see a truck, which he hated trucks, probably because the dope dealer drove one, and in a flash of a second, would be gone, tearing after the vehicle. This went on all day, every day, always chasing away cars, like he was afraid someone would come here and hurt him/us.

Very sudden in nature, can be walking along and if he sees or hears another dog, he will go into self-defense/guard mode. Sometimes he is too aggressive when he does this, even with play w/ the other animals.

He loves affection, cannot get enough of it, will push himself into the middle of me and another dog if he does not get enough attention.

Very picky with food, minimal thirst. Urine is always a very deep yellow because he does not drink enough water. He is a territorial marker when he pees, always.

Also he has this on and of again discharge from his penis creamy, greenish/yellowish in color.

Blessings and light,

might be worth looking at pulsatilla/sul.

passkey last decade
Yo, Astra!
Been impatient to know how all your animals are doing, Namaste - couldn't get online past few days. Whats happening re. the dog with the haematoma? The kitten?Pleased to read Buddy's getting better.
Passkey is probably right,re. Buddy, but shall do some ref. anyway.
Good luck.

Minsa last decade
Hey,

I gave Buddy a dose of Pulsatilla 10M last night and he drank water afterwards, which is unusual for him. He seems a lot less clingy with me today but is still pushy for attention and trying to chase cars. We shall see what the days bring.

His chest wound is 80 percent sealed, leg wound still needs to grow another layer or two of skin and everything else is healed.

He's now mostly in the house, loving it, sleeps and acts like he has done this before. No infection, no swelling. Yesterday we took all 4 dogs to the state park and they went in the water and ran around on leashes. What a great day we all had and it was my b-day as well!

My cat with the hematoma still has a swollen ear but it is reducing in size. She suffers from chronic ear problems (daek wax and itching) which I am trying to help her through with Psorinum and cleaning the ears. Very frustrating, since her diet is so pure.

Be well and thanks for checking in on my herd. It means a lot :)

Blessings,
NAMASTE

Hi everyone.

Hats off to everyone who contributed to the healing of Buddy. He has made a complete recovery, almost 3 weeks to the date he was injured. He has some scarring and scabs that are still healing w/ Calendula but he is in great spirits.

Blessings to all,

Hi Namaste, been waiting for your updates. Thanks for the good news on Buddy - wish there were good reports on the kit too. Maybe you should go back to Sulphur.
