To Gaye

Thank you for your alerting me to your post by email.

I am glad to note that Joepathy has worked yet again.

For the record I shall copy the first post you made on March 11:

'I need help for my son. He is suffering immensely. He is 13 yrs old and has had eczema for about 8 years. In the last 4 months it has escalated out of control to the point where he has had multiple rounds of antibiotics and steroids just to provide some measure of relief. However, once they are out of his system, he is right back to the way he was.
We have used natural medicine since he was born but have had to turn to the above mentioned western medicine techniques in absolute desperation due to his misery. This,of course, was temporary. We are attempting to treat his allergies thru the allergy kit from allergykit.oom but due to his extreme sensitivity, we have to go VERY SLOWLY and I am not seeing improvement.'

It broke my heart to read the trauma that your 13 year old son has suffered for the last 8 years and I am delighted to read today that:
'I am happy to report that over the past 3 days, we have seen about a 50% improvement in my son's eczema!'

I am confident that his Eczema will be cured in a few weeks but it is best to keep him on Arnica twice daily for the next month while you will also dampen his lesions as instructed with your fingertips soaked in the water.

It is the satisfaction that I derive from reading reports like yours especially when it pertains to the suffering of a young child, that keep me motivated at my advanced age of 82 to be present daily on this and other Homeopathic Forums and I thank God that I was given the privilege to help him to attain a better status in life, free of his Eczema which I believe would have stymied his future life.

I thank you for give me this wonderful news.

This is a good result so far. I am interested to see how the remaining 50% goes and how stable the change is.

Please keep us informed. Good wishes for more improvements in your son's health.

Your comments which for the first time are not critical, are appreciated.

It is very likely that you may never have prescribed Arnica for Eczema in the past. Arnica is a remedy that is also not listed in the MM's and Reps for Eczema but my classic case is a close friend who is now 95 years old and is dependent today on both Arnica and Nat Phos 6x for his present state of health. He is almost blind as he suffers from Macular Degeneration and is still mobile.

He swears by the Arnica as his Eczema which he had suffered from for over 80 years is CURED.

I would recommend that you prescribe Arnica to your patients for Eczema and other ailments for which I have used it successfully which you can read on my website. I would appreciate if you will please report their response if you do prescribe it although Arnica is not referred to for the ailments that I have used and prescribed it.

As no doubt you will appreciate now, Joepathy invariably works !

Joe

I will continue to prescribe according to the methods that have worked for me over the years, but thank you anyway Joe.

Patient is not cured yet, but 50% improvement is certainly very promising. Let's see how the patient goes over a few weeks, which will show how stable the change is. I am following the case with interest now however.

I hope that it works for this little one and prevents a lifetime of suffering for him.

I am posting this with mixed results. I believe my son has improved maybe another 10% since the last posting. To be specific, it is an improvement in these areas:
-the skin is not splitting open at the natural creases any longer
-the skin is not oozing or bleeding
-his ears have healed where they join his head
-his itching is greatly reduced
-his dry skin is almost non-existent when I touch him
-the 'noose effect' around his neck is almost completely gone with just a few dark pigmented spots remaining
-His general emotional and mental state has improved.

The following areas have not seen much improvement or keep coming back 'in waves':
-His skin still has a flushed or sunburned look on his entire forearms and tops of his hands
-His skin at the wrists and hands still has some 'pitted' sores that look like he has been pricked with a needle. However, they are not as bad as they were.
-Even though I said above that his dry skin has improved to the point that I don't feel it when I touch him, he still complains that his sheets on his bed feel like sandpaper and when he wears dark clothing, you can see flakes of skin.

As general information, his symptoms are worse at night. He looks the best in the morning even though he says he does not always sleep well.
He has extreme chemical sensitivity which we have taken great pains to eliminate from his environment and diet. However, when he does mistakenly eat hydrogenated oils, it seems to make the flushing worse.
I am convinced the Arnica is working and just want to know if we keep doing the same thing or add anything to it. The relief he has received from Joe has been incalculable and we cannot express enough our appreciation and gratitude for what he has done this far.

I am delighted to learn that your son continues to improve with my therapy aka 'Joepathy'.

Please confirm that:

You are using Arnica 6c in the Wet dose which you give him twice daily.
You use the liquid remedy from the bottle to dampen his lesions with your finger tips as often as possible.

You stated:
'I am convinced the Arnica is working and just want to know if we keep doing the same thing or add anything to it. The relief he has received from Joe has been incalculable and we cannot express enough our appreciation and gratitude for what he has done this far.'

I am very happy indeed to note that you have seen and confirmed the improvement in your son's Eczema. All I can hope for at this stage is that his improvement will continue even though Arnica is not the remedy that a classical homeopath will prescribe simply because it does not fit into their classical training which precludes them from using a remedy even though there is ample evidence that it does work to help the patient.

It occurs to me that you can use the lower potency of Arnica in the 3c potency on a test basis. I have not used it up to now as it is not available here in Sri Lanka where all Homeopathic remedies are virtually banned and cannot be freely imported thanks to Big Pharma who had influenced the medical profession in bygone ages. All my remedies of about 500 different varieties and potencies were hand carried by me or my friends from India.

Please use the same therapy protocol you have used with Arnica 6c and report results after using the Arnica 3c in the Wet dose after a week of usage.

Please also confirm that you are NOT using any drugs or remedies or vitamin supplements other than those I have prescribed for your son.

He said he did not sleep well last night - maybe getting about 6 hours. He was not in a very good mood this morning but did not seem to be suffering any worse than he has in the past so I don't know why he said he was not 'feeling well'. He went on to school anyway.
More than likely, I will have to order the Arnica 3c -I don't think the natural stores here carry it in the dilution but I will double check. So I may not be able to change to the 3C dose for another week or so.
As far as any vitamins, he is on a multivitamin, flax seed oil and probiotics but these are not to treat the eczema - just for general health. He is on Melatonin at night to help him sleep due to his ADHD. He is on a prescription medication called Focalin to help with the ADHD. If you believe that something could be interfering with the Arnica, let me know.

I am glad I mentioned using other drugs in my last post.

It is up to you to decide whether your son's Eczema or his other problems come first.

I am surprised that my Arnica therapy has helped him so far but it is essential that you STOP all other drugs etc if you wish him to be cured.

If you so desire, I shall treat his other ailments after his Eczema is stabilized.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I thought I was to stop only the other eczema treatments, not absolutely everything. We have now stopped everything. He is only taking the Arnica now. Thanks for your help and yes, I would like further treatment for his other issues once the eczema is gone. I will post in a few days.
One addition: I noticed today that he seems to have a lot of dry skin on his scalp. Would it be acceptable to pour the Arnica on his head to treat this?

Brilliant !!!

I would not have thought of using Arnica 6c on his scalp to help with his dry skin which is another form of Eczema.

This is Dry in comparison to the normal Eczema which is Wet. Feel free to use it liberally on his scalp and report his response often.

I know it's only been 2 days since we communicated by email but I wanted to let you know that while the eczema still has not returned, the 'other' dermatitis is still there with no improvement and he is itching terribly, especially on his arms. He says the insides of his elbows are also painful from scratching. He has missed 2 days from school. We continue with the Arnica but is there anything else to do? Is is time to use the Graphite you mentioned?
Thanks for your help.

You have not indicated his response to the remedy after application to his scalp.

Yes I believe that it is now time to add Graphites 6c in the Wet dose to his present therapy.

You cannot stop the Arnica but you can give him a capful of the Graphites 6c twice daily while leaving about half hour between remedies.

Report response in 24 hours.

Joe De Livera last decade
I am sorry I did not post a response on his scalp. I am so stressed out because of my son's situation, I can barely function. The Arnica does seem to have helped the dry scalp. We will continue application.
In your email, you said to get the Graphites 30c but your post said Graphites 6c. Which one do you want me to try?

Idic0101 last decade
Let us go with the Graphites 6c in the Wet dose and observe his response.

You will leave about half hour between remedies.

If you feel that you want a sedative to calm your nerves you can take Nat Mur 6x dose 3 tablets twice daily. Please note that this is to be only used by you and NOT your son.

Joe De Livera last decade
I have given the Graphites 6c twice daily beginning Thursday evening. No change yet.

Idic0101 last decade
I can only hope and pray that the Arnica and Graphites will continue to help him as it has done in the past few days. You reported that you had observed 50% improvement and I hope that this improvement will continue.

There are other remedies that we can experiment with and we must give the Graphites some time to act as it is still 3 days into it.

Report progress as usual.
