inimical remedies
Is there any theory to establish that such and such remedy is inimical to the other? For example causticum is inimical to phosphorous, apis mel is inimical to rhus tox. There are books who state that there are no inimical remedies in homeopathy. If symptoms agree any medicine can be administered provided the chosen remedy is correct. The Law of Similars, when applied properly, will create cure regardless of the last remedy given.
An inimical remedy is one that is very similar to another, so that if you have given a PARTIALLY correct remedy that has improved only a portion of the case, and are looking to prescribe another PARTIALLY correct remedy to complete the improvement, you wish to avoid remedies that are too similar (inimical).
This caution is only relevent if you are using the 'Zig-zag' method - prescribing a series of medicines for different parts of the case.
If you give the genuine simillimum (perfectly similar remedy) it is completely irrelevent as to what remedy was given previously.

Dr. Nash says that don't bother about relationship of remedies. Dr. Prafull Vijaykar disagrees and he is of the opinion that the relationship among remedies should be used intelligently and for one's advantage.
It is always advisable not to take inimical remedies in succession. If something wrong happens the person doing the experiment may repent very badly.
