Case for David Kempson - son waking up hungry at night Page 2 of 5

Do I need to create a dosing bottle for it or just give him the granules?

For this kind of 'emergency' dissolve 2 granules into 1/2 cup of water, stir thoroughly, and give him a teaspoon. Cover the cup, and if necessary do repeat doses from the cup after stirring again.

Ok I gave him the Chamomilla, and like usual he instantly started babbling and being giggly. Hoping it holds! I'll let you know.

Thank you!!

He was much less whiny after taking the Chamomilla. He had one mini-fit where he tried to bite the floor, but it was over very quickly and he was generally really pleasant the rest of the night. He's asleep for the night now. Thank you again!

Day 5 - last night he woke up a few times when it wasn't time to eat. But each time, his fit was only about 3 minutes long, and after he would let me give him his binky, he would fall right back asleep. Progress there! Gave him Calc Phos 6x for teething

Day 6 - The first few hours of last night were TERRIBLE. Screaming, thrashing, fit throwing.
Teething again today, gave him Chamomilla 200c. It toned down the the whining quite a bit.

Day 7 - Tuesday - Only woke TWICE last night and had a 6 hour stretch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In general he has seemed less hungry. He is not eating as much as he did during the day, or at night.

Ok going well so far.

Nico is lying in his crib chewing on his pacifier and chewing on his fingers, crying out and not going to sleep. I think he might be having teething trouble again. Can I give him another Chamomilla dose?

Nevermind, he finally fell asleep. It was rough though. He was refusing being nursed, but when he finally accepted it, he fell asleep.

Day 8 - Rough night falling asleep. Waking and screaming.

Day 9 - Rough night falling asleep last night, woke between feedings.

Day 10 - Rough night falling asleep last night, seemed to be teething. Woke up between feedings wanting to be fed.

I feel like he is back to where he was before I gave him the Phosphorus. His fits might be a little less in length, but he is still waking hungry at night and gets very upset when it's not time to eat.

He has also been chewing on his hands nonstop, and drooling a lot, and sometimes trying to bite the floor. I think he may be teething again.

Oh, and his hunger in general seems to be what it was before the Phosphorous dose.

It appears the Chamomilla has created a problem. By palliating the symptoms it has moved him back to where he was.

Alright repeat the Phosphorous first. Hit the bottle 3 times instead of 2. Let me know what happens.

Before I give him the dose, I forgot to mention something. He has been having soft stool for a few days, which is very unlike him.

Does that change anything or do you still want me to dose him again?

It doesn't change the order in which we do things - repeat the remedy that worked, increase the potency of that same remedy, then look for a new remedy. So we start with the repeating.

Ok I gave him the Phosphorus earlier this evening. So far tonight he has woken several times, and has coughed several times. When I nursed him just now, I could tell he had a very phlegmy nose and throat and it seemed it sometimes made him cough.

I didn't notice any of this when I put him to sleep 2 hours ago! But.. I may recall a random cough or two today. He may be getting a cold. He seems to get one every two months or so. BUT, he has never had a cough.

joannadarling last decade
Can you describe the cough?

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
The cough is rarely there, just randomly maybe once an hour or so. It sounds like he gets phlegm in his throat and he coughs because of that, it's a raspy cough, and sometimes it sounds like he gags.

Tonight it felt like he was getting a fever. Just put him down, so we'll see how tonight goes!

joannadarling last decade
No fever, I was wrong. He woke several times last night because he lost his binky. I think he was having trouble breathing through his nose so kept opening his mouth and losing his binky. BUT, he had no trouble going back to sleep after replacing his binky. He had a 5 1/2 hour stretch, which was very nice!

joannadarling last decade
When I say 5 1/2 hour stretch, it means he didn't nurse for that long. But he was awake about 3 times between that. Lost his blanket or binky.. he likely wouldn't have woken if he didn't have a plugged nose.

joannadarling last decade
So better or the same?

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
Better!

joannadarling last decade
Also, cough has changed to dry, doesn't seem related to phlegm anymore, but it's still maybe once an hour that it happens.

joannadarling last decade
Ok it seems the phosphorous has helped again, so just continue waiting and watching

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
He had a really bad night last night, up and screaming for milk for about an hour and a half before falling back asleep.

joannadarling last decade
What other symptoms are occurring?

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
He is not eating hardly anything today. Says he wants milk and then only takes a few sips and then stops. He is refusing most foods but bananas but has also eaten some scrambled eggs. His cough is more frequent but still rare. He was coughing more while he was nursing. He seems to keep changing his mind about what he wants.

joannadarling last decade
Anything else? That isn't a lot to go on to choose another remedy.

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
Ok he just ate a LOT of chicken..
