Help With Platinum Metallicum

I would greatly appreciate any help. I am new to homeopathics for the most part. I have been seeing a doctor but she gives me very little to no information on what to expect. I tried another remedy she gave me years back and had a terrible reaction to it. My emotions went completely haywire and my entire nether regions went totally numb. I could not feel anything at all. It was very unsettling. Needless to say I stopped the remedy and she agreed.

She has now given me platinum metallicum. She didn't really specify what it was for or what to expect if anything. She did mention stomach issues that I have and said it was a sort've cure all. I've been having extreme asthma and allergies and was not sure if it was meant to help that at all. I have an extremely sensitive system due to adrenal issues and tend to be hyper reactive to medications. She said if it's not the right one then nothing at all should happen. That being said I started the medication and ended up at the flip of a switch having a severe and extreme depression come over me that I could not shake. This is something I haven't felt since my teen years and I am now in my mid 30's. Back then I had every reason to feel depressed though now there is no reason I would be feeling something like that. I stopped taking it due to the depression being frighteningly severe and even my housemate was worried at the severity and sudden onset. It continued through the night and into the next day when I decided to stop taking the remedy. It began to slowly lift over the next day or so.

I decided to read up on the remedy at that point and it did not like me The intense impulse to kill, highly sexed, sleeps with legs apart etc. Most of the physical ailments are also not something I have experienced.

I am not sure if I should try the remedy again if it is the wrong one or what to think. When I read up on it is seems so very off. She said she had ordered this remedy specifically for me. This is a doctor and there must be a reason she prescribed this and thought it would work for me. Help!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
A return of an old symptom from the past is actually a good sign in homoeopathy. It usually shows that the remedy has gone very deeply into your case.

There is something I don't understand though - what do you mean by saying 'I stopped taking it'? How many times did you take it, and what potency did she give you?

Reading up on a remedy is always a mistake. Each remedy can have thousands of symptoms, sometimes tens of thousands. You cannot have them all, and we do not decide on remedies on the basis of what you do not have that the remedy does. We only need to see that the remedy does cover what you have. Remedies are broad, and apply to many different types of people.

I was only on it a few days. 30x 1 daily 3 pellets. It seemed such a severe response after only taking it a few days. She is out of the office and unreachable. It was so severe and debilitating I had to stop taking it. By stop I mean I stopped completely. I was near suicidal and it really scared me. I cannot explain how extreme a response this was and no reason for it. I really didn't want to read up on it just so I would have no preconceived notions. However when this happened I was obviously very concerned.

Well it sounds like it may have been
right? bringing back old depression,
but potency wrong.

If you want a second opinion click
on any post by nawazkhan and fill out
that form and someone will see what
they think about remedy and dosage.

What kind of dr. is this person? a real
md, and md and a homeopath, or????

Thanks,

She's a naturopath. She refers to a book each time when prescribing. Some sort've guide on homeopathy. I didn't see any sort've credentials in her bio regarding homeopathy.

The only thing is I'm not exactly sure what she's trying to treat so it would be hard for someone to determine if the dosage is proper. I just wasn't sure if something like that would be a normal or expected reaction. If something like that happens do you just push through and it goes away eventually? She just said here take this at this dose and that was it. She said eventually work up to the same dose two times a day but she never said when. Apparently she's out of town the next two weeks.

It isn't very responsible of her to not warn you about the homoeopathic aggravation, or to give you instructions what to do when it happens.

She uses a 'guide on homoeopathy'? Find out what it is - she should be using a repertory and a materia medica (if she actually has studied homoeopathy properly she will know what those are).

It is likely you are very sensitive, and extreme caution needs to be exercised with your dosage. How exactly did she ask you to administer the dose each time.

Well she is not really trained in homeopathy. That is the problem. I have
seen naturopaths even come on here
with 'formulas' for things and when I
write to them to ask more about it they
stop posting. Naturopaths use a lot
of Protocals or sets of treatments.

If you want homeopathic treatment right
you need to go to someone who has
a strictly homeopathic practice. And
who has practiced homeopathy for at
least 5 years.

Where are you Bellina? I can look at
who is good in your area and give
some options if you want. Here in
USA for example, in the South,
you can barely find a homeopath. The
people doing homeopathy in the South
are mostly chiropractors and they
do not have any homeopathic degrees,
so in the South you either do some
long driving or you are better off
with a good chinese medicine person.

I actually wasn't looking for homeopathy persay. That is just the route she took as treatment. From what little I know about homeopathy there are a lot of questions to be asked and things that just didn't occur. She simply opened the book looked up what I was dealing and said here you go. I could've done that myself and saved $120 for the visit.

Brisbane no she gave me NO information at all on what to expect or anything. She said take 3 pellets once a day. She didn't say how to administer them. So I take them under the tongue.

Hi- you said you went to her awhile
back and she gave wrong remedy.
Now she gives either wrong remedy
or wrong potency. Does not sound
like a good healer and certainly does
not have the info to do what she did.

Homeopathy is a system that can
address all your issues, whatever they
are if you choose that route.

Unfortunately I agree. It seems I will have to find a new doctor. I have such a long history I hate having to go through it all again with someone new. :(

Hi- if you pick the right homeopath-
it can actually be a very good experience.
You spend 2 hours or hour and half
and they are looking at all kinds of things
to assess your remedy- How you think,
how you react to things, etc your weather
preferences, your food etc- so you get
a in depth look at your entire totat self.

After that you do follow up like once
a month and then further out as you get
better. I know it is a pain to do it all
again, but you are really getting the red
flags here.

Look for homeopaths also who have
cured cases of your main issues---
that way you can be more confident-
that is important.

Best,
Simone

Thank you Simone. Yes none of this was done. Only a few minutes were spent and really no questions asked.

Well in that case, it is clear she actually robbed you of that money. Yet another person using homoeopathy to make a quick buck, and damaging our reputation.

It takes 1-2 hours to do a homoeopathic consultation. Each aspect of the person's life is examined to see how their disease has affected it. It is necessary to try and establish a 'big picture' as to what is happening with your help. Anyone who does not take this time for a chronic case is most likely a charlatan.

You need to educate yourself a little on what a homoeopath is, so you can question the practitioner yourself. Some countries do register their homoeopaths so that is something you should always check out as well. Anyone who can neither show a qualification nor professional registration as a homoeopath, should be avoided.

You were also being incorrectly dosed. Nobody should ever be taking dry pillules or pellets - these are well known to cause violent aggravations. Those pellets are meant to be dissolved into a bottle with a dropper, and this bottle is used to place drops into more water that is actually your dose.

She really did you over I am afraid. I would make sure none of your friends or family go to see her either.
